Looking for a family-friendly getaway in Eastern Tennessee? Consider this lovely two-bedroom vacation rental, which features a private hot tub, a game room, and plenty of other home comforts.

Located on the end of a secluded street just south of Pigeon Forge, this cabin feels remote while still offering easy access to the conveniences of town. Gatlinburg, one of the gateways to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is a short drive to the south - guests who love spending time outside will adore having the park so close to home.

Inside, the cabin's decor is rustic with a modern flair. Luxurious leather couches make it easy to unwind. After a long day exploring the area, stretch out and relax while you flip through the cable channels on the flatscreen TV and warm up by the fireplace.

Meals come together quickly in the well-appointed kitchen, which features all of the standard appliances as well as a dishwasher for easy cleanup. Enjoy your meals at the four-person table, or grab a quick snack at the two-person breakfast bar.

From the living room, step out onto the private deck and admire the views of the surrounding area. After a long day of hiking, soothe your tired muscles in the large private hot tub.

Step back inside and head downstairs to find the game room, which boasts a pool table. You'll also find a second private deck, which has a picnic table for al fresco dining.

When night falls, this two-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin is ready to accommodate up to six guests. The two bedrooms are master suites featuring king-size beds, flatscreen TVs, and en suite bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs. One bedroom is located on the main floor, and the other is located on the lower level. For additional guests, the couch in the living room converts to a queen-size sofabed.

After a restful night's sleep, gather your group and plan the day's activities. Head south to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and hike, bike, or horseback ride your way through the area's stunning natural beauty. Tour the park from the comfort of your car, stopping to discover historic buildings dating to the 1800s or to enjoy a scenic overlook.

Interested in more leisurely pursuits? Visit Gatlinburg for art galleries and unusual museums, or, in the winter, head to Ober Gatlinburg Ski Area & Amusement Park for skiing, snowboarding, an alpine slide, and supervised wildlife encounters. Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge offers live entertainment, thrill rides, and specialty stores, while Pigeon Forge itself has plenty in the way of restaurants and retail shops.

We need him George.

Thought it was haunted (George was his name) the only thing we could think of was a pipe hitting the wall. It was loud and caused a lack of sleep for the couple sleeping in the bottom bedroom. We called and a maintenance guy showed up and thought the problem got fixed. Little did we know that George started back up later that day. My wife tried the jet tub in the bathroom and got a little surprise from the lack of cleaning out the jets. Yup, mold started coming out. Will not return.

Family Vacay!

We’ve been coming to the mountains for years now and i have to say the roads to this cabin were some of the best! Gps took us right too it and we had great cell service (verizon) when we got the cabin we had an issue with the door code not working. The only reason i even mention this, is because we had to call guest services. They were awesome! They had to do a few different things, but it took less than 10 minutes to get us into the cabin! The cabin was very clean and was perfect for our week stay! We also loved not having a mile long list of check out instructions. Definitely a 10/10 stay!

Beautiful view!!

This cabin has one of the prettiest views we have had in the smokies. We loved having coffee on the deck in the mornings. The beds were very comfy and the air worked great.

Nice view, Not too far from activities

Has a good view of the mountains and an upper deck with a hot tub. No problems with wifi. My children used the pull out sofa bed and it worked well. Great stopping ground, but lacking attention to detail. I'd say could use some deeper cleaning, but I think replacement of carpet, tile and showers are needed. We came to the area for a wedding and this was not the easiest place to get ready for one in. The ironing board I found stashed away is supposed to be attached to the wall so this made it extremely difficult to iron clothes. Additionally, if you're particular about doing your makeup the pedestal sink is not great (didn't think of that before booking, my fault), and the mirrors and lighting in the bathroom downstairs aren't great for this. Also if you're a flat lander than be prepared to drive up with blind turns and no railing. However, this is normal for the mountains. ;D

Fantastic stay

This cabin was absolutely perfect for us to celebrate our 13 yr olds birthday! he and his buddy had a great time in their own area on the lower level, and the adults and toddler had plenty of space on the main floor. It was clean, kitchen was amazingly stocked for us to cook at the cabin each day of our stay (even crockpots!), and the location was great. Perfectly placed in between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We loved staying here and certainly recommend it!

Perfect Mountain Top View

We went as a party of 4 Adults. Rod Run 24' Weekend. The drive to the cabin was as expected, being mountain top. The location was nice as well.. enough up to be away from the lower neighboring cabins to be considered secluded... it was super nice to be on A "Dead end" not having traffic passing thru... it was quiet and peaceful. The mountain View was spectacular.. during the day it's breathtaking.. the night being all lit up is just amazing to see. Only about a 10 minute drive to the PF Strip.. the cabin was clean, and inviting. Definitely would rent again for future stays. Budget friendly as well. Thanks so much!-Tim, Em, Krystal & Danny

Very nice with a few minor issues

My 11-year-old son and I spent four nights in the Bear Necessity cabin and everything was fine for our stay. There were a few issues with some of the things inside (couches are both in need of repair), but it met our expectations, with only the size of the cabin being much smaller than the photos in the website show. It was perfect for the two of us but we were both a little surprised! The steps leading to/from the upper/lower floors are very narrow, so I don’t recommend staying here with small children or elderly adults who may have trouble using stairs. The road leading to the cabin is a little daunting, especially if you’re not used to mountain driving. There’s a lot of twists and turns and large hills that can be hard to see around. We had a great stay overall, and the drawbacks I mentioned did not affect the quality of our stay

Needs some improvements

Cabin is in a great location. Loved that other cabins aren’t right on top. The home definitely need some improvements and a good cleaning. It rained during our stay and the kitchen ceiling was leaking. We contacted Vacasa and they said they’d send out a tech but nobody ever came. We placed a pan under to catch the water. There was mold in the bathrooms on the wood baseboards near the showers. The shower drains had hair in them that we had to remove before showering. The kitchen could use a few things, we had no pot holders and the coffee maker leaks. The hot tub was perfect and the views were great. Pool table downstairs was also nice but the tv down there doesn’t work. We had issues with the dryer working, it didn’t get very hot and took multiple cycles for things to dry, could just be a clogged dryer vent. With some upgrades and a good cleaning it would be a perfect cabin. One thing to note, the fireplace is electric logs powered with a cord, there is no flame/heat. Wasn’t a deal breaker but wish we’d known bc we love having a working fireplace.

The property and cabin were beautiful. It could use a new couch. My only wish is that those narrow curvy roads were marked with signs so you knew you were headed in the right direction.

Loved the secluded, private location with an excellent view of the Smokey mountains. The beds were comfortable. Disappointed in the condition of the cabin as far as cleanliness and basement bathroom - shower leaked on the floor and the sink faucet was loose. Hot tub was broken.

Make sure to get all your belongings when you leave

Property was hard to find when we got there. Needed better signage. Showers and floors were in need of some scrubbing. I left some clothing behind. Contacted property management. They charged me $29 and were going to send the clothes back to me. The cleaners said they never found them. They’re thieves. I won’t be staying here ever again.

Perfect, perfect, perfect!

This cabin over exceeded our expectations! The view is even better than the photos! The hot tub was easily adjustable to accommodate our two young children, and both the lower and upper decks had ample seating. The king beds were extremely soft and comfortable. If you plan to visit in the summer months and use the downstairs bedroom while the air conditioning is pumping to cool the whole cabin, bring an extra blanket because it gets COLD in the downstairs bedroom. The kitchen was a decent size with plenty of utensils and pots/pans. A list of such things would’ve been nice to have ahead of time because we ended up packing a lot of items that the cabin already had. The road leading up the the cabin is wildly narrow, steep, and windy. It is definitely not for the faint of heart as they mention in the listing. The living room couches were extremely comfortable and easily fit four adults and two young children. There is room for probably three vehicles. Plenty of extra space remained after our two vehicles (van and truck) were parked. The carpeted stairs did appear dirty but honestly I’m sure they’re just stained from people walking on them as the colour is white with dark speckles). There was no stench at all when we stayed. There is a cottage directly in front of this one but you can barely see it when sitting on the upper deck. It does not impede on the view whatsoever. Check in was easy with a code sent directly to me with instructions.

Great little cabin

Cute little cabin with amazing views!! Pros: very clean, kitchen had anything you would need if you wanted to cook. Only 5 minutes to Pigeon Forge and 10 to Gatlinburg. Beautiful view of the mountains. Quiet and peaceful. Hot tub was nice. Cons: the biggest drawback was the road to the cabin. Very steep, narrow and winding with sharp turns and no guard rail which made it pretty unnerving. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time. Luckily we had a vehicle and good driver that could navigate.
