The view of the ocean beyond the three blocks to the beach were amazing. The sunsets, breathtaking.Authentic fans and screened windows created the atmosphere of living an true Hawaii way. on the steep lush volcanic mountain side we were lulled to sleep by the tree frogs.
This house was the perfect setting for my sister’s Hawaiian birthday trip! We love that the property is out of the main tourist area, and it was super well stocked of all our needs.
Wonderful place to sit on the screened porch and look out over the ocean. Zero issues with the house except I had trouble getting my wife to leave. Very responsive host.
Host very prompt and helpful. House was great. Had everything we needed. View on Lani outstanding. Definitely very steep hill.Very quiet neighborhood. Liked the rural feel.Air conditioning in bedrooms would be nice for sleeping.
Very clean home, has everything you could need, fresh water for drinking. Great views from the deck, quiet and safe neighborhood a bonus! Had a cooler for us to take to the beach, beach chairs, all kinds of stuff available for use. Loved relaxing on the screened deck mornings and evenings. Host responded quickly to a question we had. Accommodations and Host were great! Would def come back next time!
Comfortable and well located for our excursions. Nice neighbourhood and well equipped for preparing home cooked meals. Showers were a little cool but not cold. Good stay!
We’ve returned for seven years and hope to do so again. Perfect for families and friends who prefer a lovely, cozy home rather than hotels. Close to 5 of our favorite snorkeling beaches. It’s a steep, beautiful drive down to the property.
We had a lovely 8-day stay and the ocean views from the house are spectacular. We particularly enjoyed the home’s big and screened lanai. The Kona Paradise community is a very relaxed place and the nearby Pebble Beach is a fantastic spot for playing in the water and watching the sun set. The short but steep walk to the beach is worth it - and there are several parking spots for those who need to drive. There are good, casual food options nearby within 10-15 miles. We would stay here again!
Awesome place, with everything you need!! They had all the amenities of home. Blow dryer, curling iron, kitchen had all kinds of spices to cook with. Loved the enclosed patio. View is breath taking. Driveway is very steep and you need to back out downhill, but the SUV helped. Truly an Awesome place to stay. We are ready to come back!! Loved it here!!
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely house. The location was perfect, just a very short walk to a beautiful black rock beach and good snorkeling. The house is well-equipped and comfortable. The neighborhood roads are quite steep so we were glad to have a 4wd car. We visited many wonderful parts of the Big Island and even got to see the eruption of a volcano. Each day we were happy to return to the house, sit on the porch and watch glorious sunsets.
We rented a car and toured most of the island. Plenty of room for the two of us. We really enjoyed the screened in porch and the sound of birds in the evening.
The location is a bit out of the way from any tourist attractions, stores, etc. but we knew that ahead of time.
We had a great time at the house. I would recommend 4wheel drive if you rent a car because the roads are quite steep. This is the price of great views. The house geckos are adorable and we got a lot of good pics. The manager was also kind and responsive.
Great hosts and accommodations! We’ve stayed in a lot of places in Hawaii but this one is different in several ways that will bring us back for sure. Quiet location. It’s really rare to find a place that doesn’t have roosters. Superb kitchen. Lots of functional space. Covered parking. Did I say quiet? Easy access to south Kona region. We would definitely return for more!
Enjoyed the well equipped kitchen! Location to beach is perfect. Having a full kitchen and laundry when away for weeks is super helpful. This felt like our home for the week! We enjoyed morning and evenings on the lanai. We Can tell the house was empty for a few weeks, it was dusty and could have used a clean prior to our arrival.
Thank you! This big Island is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay, would recommend!
This home is amazing. My husband and I stayed for 7 nights and it was not long enough. There was plenty of room for another couple. You will definitely benefit from a 4x4 staying here as it is right down by the beach and the drive in is steep. The driveway as well. Worth the drive South. This home has everything you could need and more.
Beautiful home and very well appointed. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable furniture, cozy and comfortable beds. Enjoyed whale watching from the lanai. It is steep coming and going but certainly manageable, glad we had 4 wheel drive. Description says “ steps from the beach” a bit misleading but doable. We loved our stay, were there for a month and would return in a heartbeat! Both the owner and on island manager were available and responsive.
The property is nice overall. The house is clean. The neighborhood is quiet. The road to and from it to the main road is extremely steep. At night time the heat was unbearable in the bedrooms. The property manager was thoughtful. The noisy frogs and bird was overwhelmed.
The views from the Lanai were absolutely gorgeous. Black Pebble Beach was just down the road to enjoy the sunsets and the sound of the ocean. It was about 45 minutes from Kailua Kona. The drive didn’t bother us as we drove all over the Island anyway. It was nice to go back to a peaceful community after a long day. Kitchen was fully stocked, beach towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards. The house did get hot with no air conditioning but we did open windows and doors after coming back and it seemed to help. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home, We would definitely stay again
The house is great. We watched the sunset every evening.
It’s steep getting down and up but, it’s doable. The house has everything you need:coolers, chairs for the beach, masks and fins, and umbrella. The house has spices, cooking oil, DVDs, and games. The laundry room has everything you need to wash clothes. You might need breakfast things for the first morning but, check around first before you get groceries. It is hot in afternoon but, they have fans. Very quiet and safe neighborhood. It’s an awesome house. The birds kept us entertain. We are glad we stayed there.
We loved living here! For two incredible weeks, this home was our personal slice of paradise. We lived with the windows and doors open nearly all the time, letting in the breeze, the birdsong, and the peaceful rhythm of the island. Our daughter loved sleeping on the futon on the lanai most nights, falling asleep under the stars and waking up to the sounds of nature. The house was peaceful, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped for a comfortable, restorative stay. We picked fresh mangoes from the front yard, made fruit salad with local pineapple, and enjoyed sunsets every evening from the lanai. We snorkeled at several beaches around the island and especially appreciated the convenience of Pebbles Beach right at the bottom of the hill—perfect for a quick swim or quiet sunset stop. The location was perfect—quiet and tucked away, yet close enough to beaches, coffee farms, and island adventures. Everything was clean and well-stocked, from the kitchen to the beach gear. It felt less like a rental and more like home.Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

My overall impression of the property is that it is in a great location and the owner is easy to contact and work with. He was quite accommodating in our departure based on a late flight. The house is in dire need of cleaning. It is also in need of new window coverings and some basic TLC. While we definitely enjoyed our stay there are other options in the same sub-division that we have used previously that are maintained better. The cleaning fee was steep for the amount of cleaning we did when we arrived and the house was dirty and needed a deep cleaning.

Aloha,
Thank you for your review. We were not informed that housekeeping did not meet your expectations. Otherwise, we would have addressed it immediately. Your experience is certainly an outlier but nevertheless we will check with our cleaning service so we can continue to maintain the highest standards.
We pride ourselves in offering the best value in the area. Most rentals have recently increased their prices 50% and 100% in some cases. We have kept our rate increases to a minimum in the last 5 years.
We believe our home is an amazing deal. A fully furnished property, located steps from the beach and incredible views, all for less than the price of a single hotel room!
We fix, replace, maintain everything on a regular basis and have done so for years and the testimonials are there to prove it. We will continue to do so and thank you again for your patronage.
We love the house- hate the humidity. Of course, that is common to the whole island,,,,We had daily visits from a gecko we named Gary. At least we think it was the same little fellow; we only saw two geckos simultaneously once Plus, there's a cute little baby gecko in the bedroom who is shy and climbs around at night. The neighborhood and the driveway are all steep like San Francisco hills. There are a few spices in the kitchen and a good selection of cooking/baking equipment. At night the coqui frogs talk a lot - and in the morning, the birds do. We found both very pleasant. Lots of plumeria and a smattering of other flowers, Very peaceful place. it's a bit of a bummer to have to transport garbage to the transfer station - I don't think that was in the listing Since we have to get water for drinking/cooking from a "nearby" spigot, I would suggest including a photo of what it looks like and a better idea of the location in the welcome binder . We drove by it 4 days before we found it. It's not too far north of the transfer station in a turn out mauka side, directly behind a short directional sign
The house is very clean and well set up with a view of the ocean and very little view of the surrounding houses due to the tree canopy. The lanai is very comfortable and I could pretend to be outside even when I was feeling too lazy to actually go out. We were close enough to the ocean to hear it, which was lovely, and there are doves and cardinals in the trees, calling to each other all day. It was quite charming. I even enjoyed the coqui frogs at night, to my surprise. (Coquis have a bad reputation on the Big Island but I found out that I actually like their chirping. They sound like crickets.) The downside for me is the low elevation: my ears are very sensitive to a change in air pressure and when we went up and down the (very steep) road every day I felt like I was always landing a plane although it didn't bother my husband at all. But like I said, I'm quite sensitive. I would have appreciated motion sensor lights on the porch because there were no lights on when we arrived at almost 10 pm and it's pitch dark at night on BI because of the telescope. Overall, it's a very comfortable property and we have already booked our vacation there for next February. Aloha nut loa
