Cliffs of South Kona ‘The Cove at Milolii'

Our two-story oceanfront home has views from every room and tropical breeze flowing from roof top cupola through every window and door. The main living area is upstairs with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, including two master suites one with a queen bed and one with a king. The third bedroom has a king bed and the fourth three twin beds. There is a large open kitchen, living and dinning area with an open deck area for dinning and lounging. The downstairs has an outside living and dinning area poolside with a Weber charcoal barbecue. There is also a 16x16 poolside room with an adjacent bathroom, that is a relaxing place to read or rest. The house sits on the cliffs overlooking the ocean and affords beautiful views of the humpback whale migration in the winter, occasional Hawaiian monk seals and year round dolphins and turtles. The infinity edge pool and spa bring the Pacific Ocean right into our yard.

Hawaii has a good neighbor policy and requires all vacation rentals to post.
1) Quiet hour shall be from 9pm to 8am, during which time the noise from the STVR (short term vacation rental) shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors.
2) Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with the residential area.
3) Guest vehicles shall be parked in the designated on site parking spaces.
4) The STVR shall not be used for commercial purposes.

Our rates are dependent on the season and number of guests. As such, rates shown in the original VRBO booking request may not be an accurate quote prior to booking. No matter the number of guests or dates you will have exclusive use of the property. Canadian guests will receive a 30% discount.
RATES SHOWN ARE FOR 4 GUESTS. Additional guests are $20/day and taxes are added per state of Hawaii law. TAT 13.25% and GE 4.712%
DISCOUNTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR STAYS OF LONGER THAN 2 WEEKS.

Owner will provide a complete Rental Agreement for Renter to execute and return prior to the rental going into effect. Failure to return the completed rental agreement will be grounds to cancel the reservation.

Our stay at Milolii was perfectly wonderful. Exactly as advertised, relaxed comfort and amazing view. The home was well stocked and equipped with everything needed. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and looking over the cove to the gorgeous Pacific. Most of our days were spent site seeing but having Milolii to return each evening made each day that much more special. Thank you for a glorious time on the Big Island. Hope to return some day!

We loved our stay at the Cove! The pool and hot tub were amazing. The drive to and from the house is an experience of its own. Just plan on lots of driving if you stay here. About an hour to just about anything.

Absolutely Stunning

We stayed here for 5 nights and it had everything we could have needed. Dolphins and whales were a bonus! The hot tub was amazing and the house was so breezy and comfortable. We loved it!

The Cove at Milolii

Melanie and Craig are great hosts, they supply so many things just to make sure your enjoying your vacation. They were very communicative. The house is gorgeous perfect setting to just recharge.

Excellent Island Experience

This is a wonderful home right on the ocean. True hawaiian experience with sounds of the ocean, fresh fruit close by and the relaxed atmosphere. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. Craig and Mel are great. Get away from it all and relax. Our family was working and schooling while there and the owner has this place dialed with great internet. We will be back. Mahalo

We have so enjoyed this beautiful home. We highly recommend anyone who is planning a trip to the Big Island to check this wonderful place out! The owners are so kind and have put a lot of thought and effort into stocking this house with everything you could ever want or need! It has all the extras! It's in a great location if you enjoy being out and away from the hub. We have made day trips in every direction and had so many adventures and always look forward to coming back to the house. It's that comfy and peaceful. Love it!

Amazing Hawai'i Retreat

This is a beautiful property with everything you need. We stayed here with three couples and two 17 year old boys and we had a great time. It is a good hour drive from Kona so be prepared for that if you want to be near the city. If that doesn't bother you than you can't beat this property. We bought groceries in Kona before heading out to the house. There is a smaller grocery store south on route 11 that we didn't find until later in our stay that would have saved us a lot of time from driving into Kona for smaller items we picked up later in the week. We swam and snorkeled in the cove right in front of the house and fished right off of the there too. The pool and ground floor patio area are amazing and a great place to hang out. Communication with the owners was excellent. They answered our questions quickly and asked if there was anything we needed. Definitely recommend this home and would stay here again.

Peace and Tranquility

This house is amazing, open floor plan lots of room for big families. If you are looking for peace and tranquility, hearing the ocean, enjoying views and the sunsets this is the house for you. Calm beach is 5min drive up the road. The house is 1hr away from Kona. We meal planned ahead stopped at Costco, Walmart, Safeway before heading to house. The kitchen is very well stocked with a-little of coffee, sugar, oil, spices, flour. The bathrooms have Pantene shampoo, conditioner and body wash, hair dryer. Its 2hrs from Hilo. We planned ahead and stopped at Panaluu bake shop(delicious), black sandy beach(saw turtles) Hilo market place (souvenirs). Consider the travel speeds in the area are usually about 35-45 max with windy roads. The house is 10min from the main road on a windy road. The owner was immediately available for questions and concerns. Will definitely be back.

Explore and Relax with this Private Paradise

Our family (two adults, five children under ten + one grandma) absolutely loved our stay at The Cove. While the property is far from the resort beaches of Kona and the northern parts of the Big Island, it was perfectly located for our purposes. We set aside one day to drive around the entire island, enjoying beaches, waterfalls and lava flow along the way. Every other day we set out early for adventures: hiking, splashing and snorkeling (our kid’s new favorite activity!) at Hawaii Volcanoes NP, Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, Papakolea Green Sand Beach or Kahalu’u Beach Park. Every afternoon we returned to The Cove with plenty of time to enjoy the amazing pool and sunsets while cooking dinner. Having The Cove (stocked by our initial trip to Costco near the airport) as our homebase allowed us to make our first trip to Hawaii the perfect blend of exploration and relaxation. Thank you Craig and Melanie for the easy process, excellent communication, friendly recommendations and above and beyond extras (the home truly has everything anyone would need, and the extra pool floats were a big hit!) If we are ever lucky enough to venture this way again, we would stay at this property in a heartbeat.

Everything was just as expected. Great for an adult get away. Fantastic location! Only adjustment was no air conditioning, but the steady breezes helped so much. Hosts were very helpful and easy to work with and were very understanding with the late flight going out on our last day. House was clean and so was the pool and hot tub. Would recommend to anyone traveling to the Big Island:)

I usually stay at Mauna Kea or Four Seasons and have rented homes all over the world. This home is the best I’ve been in. The location is breathtaking every minute of the day. There’s very little it doesn’t have besides fresh food and people who cook will find just about anything you’d need to make a great meal for many. I can’t wait to return!

Peaceful and beautiful.

If you are looking for something away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place to be. This is a beautiful property with great amenities. Being further south was really great for visiting all of the locations that are too far from Kona proper. Volcanoes National Park, Pualu’u black sand beach, South Point and Kula Kai Caverns are all fairly close. The road down to the house is quite twisty, but beautiful. Melanie and Craig were fantastic hosts. Highly recommend!

Great Hawaiian vaca

The pictures do not do this place justice. We had plenty of room and loved the breezes that blowed through the home. They provided everything we could have possibly needed. Thank you and we hope to come back here. I would live here if possible, we loved it that much. Just a heads up to everyone the pool water was cold, its heated only by the sun and for me my body can't handle that but my kid played in it some.

More beautiful than the pictures

We arrived at the home after wonderful communication with the hosts. What an amazing place and stocked with everything we could possibly want. Kitchen had spices and dishes for all our cooking needs. The outside pool area was full of games and family activities. Ping pong, ladder ball, bowling,. Large library of books and the TV had multiple streaming options. This vacation home had something for everyone. We highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Cove at Milolli'

Our stay was excellent. Perfect view of the sunsets with the sounds of the ocean splashing against the rocks. Nice breezes when the windows and doors are open, just make sure the ceiling fans are going the right direction, easy to hit the wrong button on the remote in the dark. The hosts responded quickly to any questions we had and we appreciated that they were able to accommodate a late checkout for us. Be sure to check out all of the storage boxes and shed, you'll find pretty much everything you need for a day at the beach. The kids loved the saltwater pool

We've lived in South Kona for almost 40 years and had the opportunity to purchase this property from a fishing friend after he moved to the mainland. The house was built in a slow process over 6 years with the help of a lot of great local talent. We completed the house in 2011 and spend many weekends sharing and enjoying our Milolii home.

Why they chose this property

We live on a farm in the subtropical ohia forest up mountain from Milolii and have spent many weekends and summer days swimming, fishing and enjoying the ocean at Milolii. We are very gratified to be able to have a home on the ocean where we can continue to enjoy so many of the activities and beauty the ocean has to offer.

What makes this property unique

Milolii is far from the crowds and noise of city life. We enjoy peaceful walks and the pleasure of time with family and friends. Waking up to the sunrise over the mountain with a cup of organic Kona coffee is a pleasure we look forward to whenever we can get away to Milolii.
