The ideal quiet retreat and a good base for all walking and activity amenities
Castle House has two apartments. The Lookout on the first floor and the Gatehouse below. Both overlook a large garden and the open countryside. We are located on the junction at the centre of the small Village of Penysarn. Both apartments are identical in size and adjoin our own property which means were around most of the time should any difficulties arise. We occasionally have another visitor to the property which is our red squirrel (we have no greys on the Island any more). The Village offers a small shop across the road from the property and outside is the bus stop which has a service every half hour running in both directions and is also accessible to other services on and off the Island.
An easy walk of 1 1/2 miles takes you to the quiet little beach of Llaneilian, leading on to two stunning coastal path walks.
In the other direction, roughly the same distance is Parys Mountain which was once where the busy copper mining industry was located. Link this with the Copper Kingdom trail (www.copperkindom.co.uk) in Amlwch Port for an interesting and colourful day. By prior arrangement, we can organise a local guide for you to enjoy this walk and gain further knowledge
Amlwch Port is an ideal location for a spot of fishing and if you like, we can arrange by prior notice for you to take a fishing trip in one of the local boats. Ynys Mon (Anglesey) has so much to offer all visitors to the Island. From sandy beaches for the little ones, adventure for the 'inbetweeners' and peace and tranquillity for those who've already done it all. We don't have stunning views from our properties but we're not that far away from them. What we do offer though, is a very friendly welcome in two cosy apartments.
We are also able to offer a few other little additions to your holiday. We can offer to make you a picnic basket for your days out if you give us enough notice. If you are staying with us for a week, we will have a welcome basket waiting for you full of goodies, many of which are locally produced. And the ultimate luxury is to have a massage. Again, with prior notice, this can also be arranged for you by a visiting fully qualified beautician and therapist. What more can you ask for?

We stayed here the last week in September and loved it. The flat was very cosy and had everything we needed, right down to a salad spinner!. The owners, Gwenda and Dic, thought of everything and were super friendly and welcoming. Will difinitely go back and would highly recommend to all my friends/family if they ever want to visit Wales, whose praises I can't sing loudly enough. Lovely holiday and can't wait to go back
Spacious, well equipped flat. We slept really well in comfy beds, with good quality bedding. Nice welcome with homemade goodies, with more available outside each day. Gwenda and Dic were friendly and helpful. As the details say, there are not views from the property but just short walks away they're there in abundance!
We stayed at the apartment for 4 nights, myself, my husband and our 2 children. We found it very homely, the owners have thought of lots of little things to make our stay more comfortable, it had everything we needed, even beach toys and towels for us to use. There is a little park in the village and a shop but lots of things to drive to. We visited the pilot boat inn, pili palas, bull bay, ceames bay and Lligwy beach which was beautiful. The only negatives are there were no window locks which I would of liked for peace of mind in my children's room, and as we were upstairs and the children playing and running around was causing a lot of noise. We could hear downstairs television and conversations late at night and even them putting their bathroom light on so we did feel like we couldn't fully relax and had to try and keep the children quiet.
The property was in a good location for exploring Angelsey. The car park access is tight and quite awkward if all 4 spaces are taken. The inside of the property is clean and tidy, with a good range of kitchen equipment/utensils. However, the bathroom is in need of upgrading and a ventilation fan is required.

We agree completely John. It was due for upgrading last year but due to Covid of course, it had to be put on hold. This was also a reason why we kept prices low this year. There’s going to be many alterations taking place this Winter so if you visit us again, it will be good to receive your opinions. Thank you once again for choosing to stay with us
The flat was clean and comfortable and very pleasantly arranged. There were steps to climb up to the front door. This property made a very good base for exploring the surrounding area of Anglesey and a very nice place to relax in in friendly surroundings.
It was a lovely stay, clean comfortable apartment in a quite beautiful location .
Hosts were warm & welcoming!
Shower head water jet/ power could be better .
A nice apartment in a very quiet village, with one grocery store, there are no pubs or restaurants in the village but plenty to drive to, Porto eillian is a lovely small bay about an hours walk or a 10 minute drive, gwenda and dick were lovely and very helpfully.
Really enjoyed our stay here. The flat was really comfortable and equipped with everything we could possibly need. The property location is ideal and close to local amenities and tourist hotspots.
Will definitely be back!
We really loved this property - so good to have the owners on site. Well equipped. Everything we needed even beach towels and beach toys. Washing machine and drier if needed. Ideal location for exploring the island, we loved Pary's Mountain, Castle lighthouse and Liigwy beach. The children loved the goodies on sale each day at the cart outside.
