We had a lovely few days here with our two dogs.
We had a lovely few days here with our two dogs., it was so peaceful and relaxing. The cottage had everything we needed and the beds were really comfy . The owners little dog was so friendly and come to say hello and the owners were so helpful and friendly.
A beautiful and luxurious cabin. Well equipped and well heated. In a very rural location. Welcoming bottle of wine and ultra fresh eggs. Lots of dog walking. Lots of places around to visit but best give Taunton a wide berth because the traffic is dreadful.
We were very happy with this lovely cabin, it is nicely tucked away but still within a short traveling distance from all tourist locations along that part of the cost, sadly the weather wasn't very kind to us while we were there so we couldn't make the most of the beautiful country side of the location, there are only 2 cabins on this plot so your not inundated with hoards of people trudging past your cabin at all hours of the day and night, we were met by the owners who made sure we had everything we needed, they had left us a welcome pack that went down well, I would definitely recommend this cabin if your particularly looking for a peaceful quiet place away from the madding crowds and have a dog who loves long walks in the country side, just the job.

We enjoyed a lovely five day break in this idyllic location.
We enjoyed a lovely five day break in this idyllic location. The lodge was immaculately clean and furnished to a very high standard. One of our party is wheelchair bound so the disabled facilities inside the lodge were a huge plus. The dogs enjoyed it too!
We found the hosts to be very friendly and accommodating.
We will definitely return again soon.

Beautiful lodge in an idyllic location.
Beautiful lodge in an idyllic location.
Clive and Judeth were warm and welcoming and we’re on hand for anything we needed. The fresh eggs and bottle of wine on arrival were gratefully received (and delicious).
We also had a warm welcome from the two dogs and enjoyed spending time with the horses and watching the lambs in the field from the decking.
The lodge was well equipped and it was a luxury to have a bedroom and adjoining bathroom for each couple.
There is no internet and very little mobile signal (unless you’re on EE, which seemed to work fine) but it was nice to be uncontactable for a while.
There are two lodges, perfect for a larger group needing more than two bedrooms.
It’s incredibly peaceful and calm and we spent lots of time walking across Clive and Judeth’s land and meeting the calves, hens and lambs.
Lynton and Lynmouth is within an easy drive as are the Tarr Steps and Minehead, Dunster and Porlock.
Taunton is half an hour away for supermarket goodies and there’s a local pub serving good food and a warm welcome. Probably walkable for the energetic on a fine day but we went most places by car.
The beds are a little soft but that’s only personal preference. It was lovely to have a nice wardrobe area and a dressing table to get ready at.
We’d love to stay again and thank you again, Clive and Judeth, for a wonderful, quiet break.

We had a lovely stay in Oak Lodge, the owners Clive and Judeth were welcoming and very helpful regarding a few problems we encountered with my totally wheelchair bound husband. We managed to sort them out. The Lodge was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Would certainly recommend.
