A perfect place to spend time with family. We had an absolute blast. The house was clean, comfortable and utterly amazing. We can't wait to return again.
Beautiful house/apartment.
Plenty of matching quality crockery, cutlery and glasses. Loads of seating in lounge and dining area.
Beds firm. Bedding and rooms spotless.
We had no problems with neighbours or parking
Phil was ace contact and kept appropriate and helpful contact before and at our arrival. A real asset.
Small niggles:
Personally I would prefer a mattress protector.
Bathroom bins to be plastic (metal ones rusting) and inner bagged.
Toilets to be clean and bleached...
Baking sheets needed
Surface cleaner required just to wipe down kitchen when we made a mess after cooking... Bought our own.

Lovely unique home , lots of character and well equipped , perfect for a group stay and a party. Amazing views from roof garden . Only negatives were 1) beds were hard and uncomfortable ( a thick mattress topper would help ) and 2) banging noise from pipes I think all night ( take ear plugs ) .

An absolutely fantastic stay in a beautiful and well laid out property.
An absolutely fantastic stay in a beautiful and well laid out property. The location was great to walk out from and close to Freshwater and Yarmouth. This property exceeded my expectations in so many ways, unique, spacious and so warm and welcoming. A special mention to Phil who greeted us and couldn’t have been more helpful when we arrived. We’ll definitely be back.

Lovely historical location within easy reach of Yarmouth. Golden Hill Park next to the fort excellent for walking with spectacular views across the Solent. Accommodation well appointed with a kitchen to die for and a beautiful en suite. Would certainly consider rebooking this property.

We enjoyed our stay and found the location great, quiet but accessible to lovely walks and cycling paths. The accommodation was perfectly big enough for us. The only negative was the general cleanliness of the property which lacked attention to detail.

We have just returned from a good week at Golden Hill fort.
We have just returned from a good week at Golden Hill fort. The caretaker Phil was really helpful, giving us some great local information and we were able to gain access a little earlier than we had thought despite the additional cleaning that had taken place.
Overall, the property is in a great location, with easy access to the coast, good walking and family cycle trails.
The roof top terrace is lovely and has far reaching views, and our children loved having breakfast up there.
The property was mainly clean and tidy, but most of the kitchen utensils and saucepans etc need to be replaced and this made it feel less of a five star property. Unfortunately the frying pans were filthy and obviously had been put back in the cupboard with no cleaning as still had food on them!
It is a nice base to stay, but the price tag is high for what should be a four rather than five star location.

Lovely place to stay.
Lovely place to stay. Very easy to get to places, nice walks and bike rides. Living area could be made to be more cosy and comfortable, and some of the pots and pans are scratched and old, but would recommend it, and we will go back.

Location is great if you want to be away from all the touristy parts of the island, but close to Colwell bay with an AMAZING restaurant for food or drinks.
Could be a bit cleaner but overall okay.
Phil (caretaker) is very friendly and accommodating.

Unique place to stay.
Unique place to stay. Roof top garden amazing! Kitchen very well equipped. Nice the bathrooms were supplied with toiletries. Pint of milk in fridge on arrival which was handy for a cuppa. Would love to go back someday. Only thing I would recommend is better quality bedding especially the pillows & maybe a little welcome pack of say wine etc.

Had a lovely stay here with family.
Had a lovely stay here with family. Quirky accommodation with good additional features which we found handy (Tripp Trapp chair, washing machine & dryer, dishwasher, hair dryer etc)
Modern coloured lighting upstairs was fun and unique, would stay again for the right price.
Rooftop gardens have a fantastic view.
On a constructive note, little more attention to detail regarding the cleaning wouldn't go a miss (needs high dusting, skirting boards dusting, lightbulb needs fixing in 2 places, fans not working in any bathroom). Parking was a bit of a nightmare with neighbours who privately own their property next door. Happy to oblige to parking but don't need to tell us & also the caretaker - we don't bite!
Very West Wight so good for lots of walks and picturesque scenic environment. Nearest supermarket about a 5 min drive .

Two couples shared the apartment and there was plenty of space. We visited in March with an early booking discount so very reasonable rate when halved.
Phil, the property manager, was very accommodating and on hand when we had a couple of queries. He even phoned us the day before to warn the ferry may be delayed because of stormy weather and would have waited until late evening to meet us. Fortunately the ferry was on time.
