About this property

Delightful private farmhouse + barn, with pool and garden

Bacquiès is the name of the property. It includes accommodation across both a restored farmhouse and barn, together with garden, games room and outdoor heated pool. With four bedrooms and two bathrooms (plus separate, third toilet), the farmhouse comfortably sleeps eight people; a further four (two adults; two children) can sleep in the converted barn, which provides two bedrooms (main on ground; kids in attic room) and one bathroom. (If you want, you are able to rent private use of just the farmhouse, pool and grounds without the using the barn building - see our separate listing or contact the owner for more details.) Both buildings are well equipped with a kitchen and dining/living area. Surrounded by farmland and around an easy hour's drive from Toulouse airport, Bacquiès is ideal for a holiday any time of the year. The property has great rustic appeal and we love it.

The area is known for its green rolling landscape and rivers flowing through spectacular gorges. It is loved by anyone who enjoys walking, cycling, fishing, canoeing and exploring. There are fortified villages and castles to investigate, bustling markets and local fêtes to explore, or you can just simply relax. Wine lovers will be spoilt by the number of vineyards within easy access.

The property is about 1km outside Septfonds, in the Tarn-et-Garonne (Midi-Pyrenees region) in the south-west of France.
Septfonds is a large village with key amenities, such as butcher, baker, supermarket, petrol, restaurants etc.

Nearby attractions include Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, a short drive (13km) from the farmhouse. St. Antonin is a medieval town close to the Gorges de l'Aveyron. Its narrow streets and old buildings are great for exploring, and the historic market place is perfect for a meal or beer - on market days it turns into a busy and exciting place selling wonderful produce from across the region.

When you want to simply relax at the property, there is a good sized heated outdoor pool (9mx6m), plus a games room with table tennis.
The garden offers numerous areas for al fresco dining in a lovely setting, and there is a gas barbeque for cooking.

Magnifique vacances en famille!

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour en famille! La maison est très chouette, typique de la région et fidèle en tout point à la description faite sur le site. La literie est confortable ce qui est rare dans une location. Le calme et la nature sont omniprésents. Terri et son mari qui entretiennent les lieux en l'absence du propriétaire, nous ont accueillis chaleureusement et on été très disponibles. Arrangeants et à l'écoute ils répondaient directement à nos sms ou mails. La propriété est bien clôturée partout et la piscine également ce qui est très pratique avec des enfants ou des chiens. La piscine chauffée est un atout non négligeable, en effet, nous avons eu 4-5 jours de pluie et de temps plus frais et grâce à cela nous avons tout de même pu nous baigner! Nous ne pouvons que recommander cette location. Si vous cherchez le calme, l'espace pour des vacances en famille ou entre amis, la campagne, le repos vous avez trouvé ce qu'ils vous faut!

Séjour très agréable et au calme dans un cadre très accueillant

Nous avons séjourné 3 semaines entre amis et en famille au sein de cette propriété, l'endroit est très agréable et permet de s'y sentir au calme et chez soi. La maison est très bien équipée, très bien entretenue, c'est un séjour idéal, excellent accueil et suivi de la part de Terri et de son mari. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.
