Lovely family vacation on Naxos
We are a multigenerational family of 9. The house and location were perfect for a low stress wonderful holiday of 3 weeks. The house is set up for grandchildren with lots of beds on different levels. There is lots of hot water and bath amenities are just fine. The pool is splendid, good towels, lots of loungers. There is an almost private little beach steps away from the house. The property is a 20 min walk from the fantastic bakery in Mikri Viglia and a similar walk from some small restaurants and groceries. Internet signal in the main area was strong with adequate speed for Zoom calls. There is a washing machine that functions well.
The major improvement this house needs is several very sturdy umbrellas by the pool. In the late afternoon the sun is very bright and there is no shade. The umbrellas need to be sturdy because of the wind.
The property manager, Aggeliki, is lovely and responsive. The property should have an instruction manual including local information. The main limitations are: 1) The air conditioning did not function well in several bedrooms and it is needed because there are no cross breezes. 2) the kitchen is a bit small for such a big house (there were multiple refrigerators which helped. 3)In summer there are mosquitos and flies. Bring repellant as it's expensive and absolutely necessary. 4) Major grocery shopping, trips to buy meat or fish for 9 all required multiple trips to Chora. It's not a huge deal but it gets old after a while.
