About this property

Luxury 3-bed Edwardian Town House in the Cotswolds - VERIFIED KEY WORKERS ONLY

Lyndale House is a recently extended and modernised 1920's period semi-detached house constructed of traditional English red brick with period features (Note: the stairs to the first floor are slightly narrower and steeper than those in newer houses). Three twin bedrooms on the first floor and a double sofa bed in the front sitting room provides accommodation for up to eight guests. There is a large bathroom with WC, bath and separate shower on the first floor and a further shower and WC on the ground floor. Spacious modern kitchen diner with a separate utility/washroom and two ground floor reception rooms with a sofa-bed for an additional two guests. Located on the level Cainscross Road the accommodation benefits from a recent refurbishment and modernisation. There is free off road parking for up to three cars at the rear and unlimited parking on the road at the front. Views from the front of the property are towards the National Trusts Rodborough Common and its Folly, Rodborough Fort which can be seen nestled between the trees. Outside there is a gravel patio area and an enclosed garden with lawns and established trees and shrubs to both the front and rear. A five to ten minute walk from the centre of the bustling market town of Stroud with its independent shops, cafe's and award winning Farmers Market. Ideally situated to explore the local area with its canals, mills, culture and stunning countryside including the Slad Valley epitomised in Laurie Lee's "Cider with Rosie". Perfectly located for Bath, Bristol and the Northern Cotswolds. Lyndale House is a conveniently located, comfortable and well equipped place to stay while visiting or working in the area.

Excellent stay with friends
This is a beautiful property and we loved every minute of our stay. Perfectly clean and the little touches made our stay very comfortable. Mark was very helpful with any questions we had and I would definitely recommend Wonky’s Wheels Taxi service for anyone that needs it. Thanks Mark, a lovely stay and property :)

Beautiful gem!
My friends and I have been looking for a mid way meet between central England and Wales. Thankfully we came across this house, and were from disappointed. The photos do not do the property justice, its such a spacious and beautiful house. Very nicely decorated and one of the cleanest places I have ever rented. We just wanted to chat and catch up so for having a girly night in front of the tv this house was perfect. Location to the town was a short walk, and Tesco a 5 minute walk. Mark was very quick to reply to messages too. We had a lovely weekend, and hope to be back! Thank you.

Born and bred in Stroud, we live five minutes from the house with our three young children. We have a love of the great outdoors, dogs, Land Rovers and ferrets!

I am also a Charity Trustee and volunteer.

Why they chose this property

We bought this house as our family home and moved out in 2008. For the last ten years it has been rented to a local family who like us fostered young children. We have fully refurbished the house to a high standard and are now running it as successful short stay accommodation. It is suitable for those visiting the area for work or leisure and is equally suited to contractors as holiday makers. Please be aware that the stairs to the first floor are slightly narrower and steeper than more modern staircases.

What makes this property unique

Full of 1920's charm with a modern warm feel. A lovely family home that will make guests feel at home.
