Needs some TLC
The house was spacious with stunning views and a nice communal area, but overall we were underwhelmed. It became evident quite quickly that the property was not very clean; -The fridge was dirty with tissue in one of the drawers and old food left in the freezer. -Some of the bins had litter in them, most were quite mucky/didn’t contain liners and the bathroom bins were rusty. -The walls in the large bathroom were covered in water marks and there were patches of damp . -There were remnants of a party (which judging by the guest book took place several months ago) e.g. used party poppers, popped balloons and sequins. Overall, the property feels a little tired/neglected, it would really benefit from some updates and is need of a deep clean throughout to combat the dust and damp. It’s great that the property can host a large family however, some of the furniture was in poor condition and could do with being removed or replaced. A few of us struggled to sleep on mattresses that were probably past their best. In addition, a few of the rooms smelt damp, including one of the bedrooms which also had a leak. We understand that old properties will inevitably suffer from the cold, and we were pleased that the heating and fireplace kept us very warm. However, the leak needs urgent attention. It was not pleasant to sleep with the noise of water dripping throughout the night. The property is in an idyllic setting with original features but sadly didn’t live up to expectations.

What an amazing house!
We thoroughly enjoyed this unique property with its fabulous views. The house, although a bit 'lived in' was fully equipped and comfortable - with space enough for family meals and board games, as well as room to escape from the group when needed. We had lovely winter weather, went on long walks and watched films in front of the fire. We would recommend!
