Surrounded by forests, foothills & rivers, spacious Gite in the Cathare Country

Located in an absolutely unpolluted tranquil area with magnificent starry night-skies; walking, climbing, mountain and road biking, directly from the house and rafting, soft-water lakes, small river beaches, within easy reach. The area is home to vultures some resident and others migrating. Designated viewing can be accessed.
Visitors also enjoy vineyards with wine-tasting, , Cathar Castles, medieval churches in which numerous concerts are held,, huge local markets and gourmet restaurants.
In a 4000 m2 garden, the 96m2 south facing Gite gite consist of terrace with breakfast table, large living room with fully equipped kitchen, dining area with table for 8, sitting area with with excellent convertable sofa for 2, Wifi TV. There is a wood-burning stove and central heating in cold weather. Bedroom with confortable double bed; Bathroom with large bath, separate shower and toilet.
Visitors have access to the entire garden with more shaded areas, deckchairs, sun bed, outdoor games.

Lovely well-equipped property in a sheltered, tranquil rural location. Our hosts, Liz and Patrick were delightful and very attentive to any requests or queries, but otherwise leaving us alone to enjoy a wonderful holiday. The property is well-located for exploring in all directions, with plenty of Cathar castles to visit, lots of well-marked walking routes (both on the doorstep and within easy driving distance), and the wonderful gorge pools near Peyrepertuse for a cooling dip. Highly recommended and we hope to visit again.

Peaceful gite in the hills

This gite is a lovely place to stay, nestled in a very quiet and pretty rural location. The home is next to a stream, with woodland and hills all around. You can go for a great walk straight from the front door, and there is a pleasant garden to sit in and enjoy the peace. The home itself is well furnished and cosy, and Patrick was very helpful and friendly for check in and any issues we had.

Absolutely perfect

Thank you to Patrick and Liz for being such wonderful hosts. Their knowledge of the area and help when required was brilliant. Loved the walking guides and maps in the house. The house was very spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. The outside space was a delight. The area was beautiful, plenty to see and do. A great stay.

Lovely property in a secluded location

Perfect property for two people looking for a quiet week in the beautiful Cathar country. Au Petit Sequoias is located near a small stream at the end of a small wooded lane. During our stay the weather was extremely hot, but the cottage remained lovely and cool at night enabling a good night's sleep (aided by a very comfortable bed). The area is perfect for anyone looking for a walking and/ or cycling holiday. Patrick gave helpful advice on routes for both. The location is also ideal for exploring the cities of Carcassonne and Narbonne as well as the Corbières wine région. Patrick and Liz were great hosts being there to welcome us, provide advice on things to do and places to visit.Highly recommended and a place we look forward to returning to.

Countryside peace

What a lovely place! Sleep to the sound of the stream. Wake to birdsong. Step onto the terrace to the scent of honeysuckle and jasmine. Big paved area with 2 tables/chairs, so always somewhere to eat in the sun or shade. This leads to a garden bordered by a stream and a meadow, with more seats and loungers, sun and shade. The house cool in the heat, bright living area, big bathroom, comfy bed. The owners couldn't have been more helpful.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour, le calme est vraiment appréciable. Patrick et Liz sont des hotes charmants à l'écoute et disponible pour tout. Leurs gite et spacieux et bien équipé. Un peu dommage que les commerces soient si loin, il vaut mieux prévoir avant si on ne souhaite pas trop bouger. Je recommande!

Un cadre naturel et tres calme. La beauté de la nature egale le silence de paix qui y regne. Les propriétaires tres empathiques et surtout hyper discrets. Un ravissement de les avoir rencontrés !! Endroit ideal pour recharger ses batteries et aspirer au calme.

Kloosters, kastelen, kerken, kloven en Katharen; dat zijn de dingen die deze streek typeren. Patrick en Liz, die naast het appartement wonen, zijn uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Door de hoge ligging kun je er koel slapen. Het is wel een eindje rijden naar de (bewoonde) wereld. erojden

Magnifique endroit et hôtes très sympathiques

Endroit magnifique, isolé, à savoir il vaut mieux faire les courses avant d'arriver, surtout si on arrive le dimanche. Plein d'orchidées et de paysages magnifiques, des vautours fauves à proximité et quantité de sites culturels et naturels à découvrir. Patrick et Liz sont très sympathiques et on est bien dans leur gîte.
