About this property
This little gem nestles in a peaceful valley between St Ives and Penzance
Peace and plenty are assured in the private garden of your converted 18th Century stable retreat. A short drive, through lush lanes and past flower-filled hedges, will take you to picturesque St Ives with its plethora of restaurants, galleries and cobbled streets.
The beaches in this area are stunning, mostly white sands and clear blue seas; and if you are searching for hidden coves, there are many waiting to be discovered. Walks are abundant, be it across the moors or along the Tinner's Way to the coastal path, and your pooch can come too. Set within an enclosed private garden with a bench, gas barbecue and table and chairs, in the grounds of the owners' home, Smithy's Stable is perfect for two. The open plan living area is warmed by a roaring wood-burner and boasts an en suite bedroom, which is home to a double bed and separated from the living space by open paneling. Smithy's Stable has been decorated with style and flair. Exposed granite walls, slate and solid oak floors and a small but well-equipped kitchen area, with a two ring gas hob and mini oven, complete the cozy charm and character of this converted stable. The quintessential romantic retreat for your Cornish holiday. Check in FRIDAY.

We had a lovely stay (1 week) over the new year.
Great location, well equipped, nicely presented, and very amenable hosts.
Would happily return.
Make sure you read the property guide, as it has some great tips on places to go and things to see.

This property is a place of extreme beauty and tranquility. The welcome was so warm that we did not feel like strangers on holiday but rather like visiting family friends.

An absolute gem of a holiday home, owners were so welcoming with lovely home made cream tea on arrival, set In amazing grounds with your own little private cottage garden, great to sit and chill with a glass of wine and a book. Easy drive to St Ives and other lovely areas and some great pubs nearby for a lovely evening meal
We enjoyed this cozy cottage with a lovely garden and close footpaths. The hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with. The cottage had everything we needed. A bit tight around the bed but a great night sleep!

Tim and Karen stayed for 4 nights. They left our place in good condition which we were happy with. The weather was pretty inclement for them
but they made the most of it. We would recommend them and have them back anytime.
We had a wonderful time here! It was so nice to return from day trips to a quiet comfortable Cornish Cottage. Our hosts, Mark and Margaret, have put their hearts into every aspect of the property and could not have been more welcoming. I would not hesitate to return here or give it our fullest recommendation.
Even though this is a small property, it contains everything that you need for your stay. It was a little chilly when we were there so we lit the wood burner, which was very cosy. We made use of the smart TV and we enjoyed sitting out in the pretty garden.Mark was very welcoming when we arrived and provided us with plenty of local information. Margaret also made us some delicious scones for our arrival which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Smithy’s Stable is a lovely little cottage halfway between Penzance and St Ives, so the perfect spot for exploring West Cornwall. Mark and Margaret are wonderful hosts and provided numerous adventure ideas. You will need a car — and need to believe that the car is not as wide as you think!
Beautifully presented cottage in a peaceful, rural setting. Perfectly located to travel to nearby St. Ives, Penzance, Mousehill, Porthleven, etc. Extremely comfortable bed, woke up refreshed every morning 😃. Lovely warm welcome by the hosts, along with Rosie the dog and gorgeous fluffy cats 😊. And thank you for the delicious cream tea on arrival!
Fabulous stay at Smithy’s stable. Ideally located to explore Cornwall.Very peaceful retreat. Hosts greeted us with a creamed tea which was much appreciated and some lovely home grown tomatoes. Would highly recommend. Smithy’s stable is so quaint and set in lovely gardens. Would definitely like to come back again one day.

Could not be happier with our stay at “Smitty’s Stables”.
The place was clean, shower “huge” and bed comfy. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful …. I can’t remember seeing so many bright stars in the sky at night - breath-taking.
Mark was so pleasant and helpful… even stocked the kitchen with milk, tea and coffee for us….. much needed after the drive from London. I strongly recommend that you stay here!!!
We had an extraordinary weeks long stay. The jewel of a stone cottage in west Cornwall was perfect in every way: quaint, cozy, clean, self contained. We discovered some local tracks to explore through the moors and cow pastures to a local pub. We had a car for 3 days to explore the rest of the peninsula. And when we needed a lift somewhere, our host Mark was right there. It is a distance(4-5 miles) to either St. Ives or Penzance but great place to explore.
A lovely, cosy (converted stable, I think?🤔). So welcoming and friendly. Nicely decorated, lovely log-burner and very comfy bed, with great shower. Owners left me a chocolate Easter bunny, a welcome card and primroses. Thank you 🙏 for a lovely, comfy stay.
Make sure you get good directions, as down some Cornish country lanes (will need a car), but only 7-min drive to St Ives, and similar to Penzance, so great location. Owners very helpful in all respects, highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank You for your review Debbie. We do appreciate it. Hope your parcel arrived in good time.
We spent 5 nights over the Christmas break at Smithy's Stables whilst visiting family who live locally. Communication with the owner before hand was great, Mark's directions where detailed and lead us straight to the property, although we did get lost the following day in the dark. The place was cosy and warm with the wood burner and bathroom radiator. The accommodation is well equipped clean. There is a lot of attention to detail in the decor. The kitchen area contained everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable, we slept extremely well. The little welcome gift was a nice touch and much appreciated. Mark was friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. We did a nice walk from the cottage when the rain stopped. I'm sure we will stay again in the future.

All was perfect except the weather .
Très joli « home sweat home », et hôte très accueillant.
Une adresse qu’on oublie pas.
