Charming island cottage surrounded by indigenous tropical plants on over one acre of natural vegetation embedded in Captiva Islands secluded and exclusive Gold Coast. Steps away from Captiva's famous (and uncrowded) Gulf Coast beach via deeded beach access. A quiet, private and secluded area to enjoy all the famous and natural amenities of Captiva Island. Simply enjoy collecting some of the shells for which Captiva is famous, swim in the Gulf of Mexico , fish for some well-known game fish, take a hike along the beautiful private Captiva beach or go kayaking, parasailing, boating, bird watching, surfing ... and for your off-beach entertainment simply enjoy the privacy of this rental cottage inside and out with your own heated pool with tanning ledge and gazebo .
Your pet may be accepted with prior approval, and we expect the following: dogs stay off furniture and beds, are not left unsupervised and will be crated if left unattended indoors. You need to vacuum after your pet if it sheds excessively and pick up after your dog.

Perfect house/location

This house fit our family and friends just perfect!The house was well appointed..had everything we needed. The pool was a wonderful addition. The eagles nesting above it were amazing! Margarethe was an amazing host. She answered any questions we had.

Most Relaxing Vacation ever!

Captiva Cottage had everything we needed for our relaxing week. We loved the pool and even got to see the bald eagle in the nest next door! The host answered all my questions and even dropped off new batteries for the tv remote. I can't wait to go back!

Great Beach Cottage

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. House was in great shape and pool was fantastic! Best part was the proximity to the beach which made access to the sand a breeze. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing Private Beach/Pool Home

House is roomy, uncluttered, updated, comfortable, very well stocked, clean, private location, steps from the gorgeous quiet beach! We loved the huge screened lanai. The downstairs room worked well as a 3rd bedroom and a detached office by day. The pool is an amazing haven if you can tear yourself away from the beach! We are cook at home people and this kitchen was the best stocked I've ever stayed in. Host was very accessible and helpful. Amazing vacation property! Would love to return!

Captiva cottage charm

This cottage was perfect for our group of three. Its a very short walk to the beach, and when we preferred the pool, it was steps away from the cottage. An eagle's nest near the pool provided constant entertainment.

Secluded piece of paradise

The property was in great condition and excellently stocked! All the beds and seating areas were very comfortable and spacious. They provided beach chairs and a cart. Access to the beach was just across the street. The screened porch was a great place to watch the eagle nest and the iguanas. It was also nice to have a pool at the house. The property owners were very responsive to any questions we had. We can't wait to stay again!eat tiguanas.

Great Place to relax

This was a wonderful vacation (unfortunately, too short). The cottage is very well maintained, clean and confortable. The room on the ground floor is very convenient. My wife and I stayed in that room and my daughters (both in College age) in the cottage in the 2nd floor. Great setup, with privacy and freedom… in summary, great place for a beach vacation… we will certainly return…

My best friend return to Captiva each summer. We found this absolute GEM for our weeklong stay. Everything that was listed was exactly as it was. The house was clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans and cooking utensils. The house had plenty of books, puzzles and even toys for any young children that are staying there. There are 3 smart tvs with endless streaming possibilities The walk to the beach was a breeze, and the beach cart was great! There were also beach chairs/beach tent/umbrellas/beach toys/floats/snorkel masks/beach mats as well. The pool was amazing!! Was completely expecting bath water temps when I first got in, and was pleasantly surprised at the refreshing temperature of the water from being cooled! From the pool, you can see the big eagles nest atop a tree. We had the pleasure of meeting our host on the property one morning when we returned from a bike ride. She was tending to some of the beautiful foliage on the property. We had a nice chat as she gave us the history of the property. It was clear that she enjoys taking care of the plants/trees on property. We had an amazing week in a beautiful oasis. We will look forward to returning next year.

Relaxation achieved

Property grounds are very loved. Eagles nest right next to property. No inside access to 3rd bedroom, but this would not prevent me from coming back. Home is very well equiped. Beach access is a little tough if there are mobility concerns. Private pool is very nice and secluded. Overall extremely happy with both hostess and property. Would love to book 6 weeks instead of 2 the next time.

Magical beach vacation!

We absolutely loved our week at Captiva cottage. Margarethe is quite possibly the best hostess ever! She is kind, responsive and helpful. She truly cares about the property and the grounds and it really shows. The cottage is a fantastic location, just a simple (and short) walk across the road to the beach. It's also very well stocked with beach chairs, toys, shovels and a beach buggy to tote it all with ease. The pool is clean and a good size. In fact, everything was clean and well cared for. The only possible improvement would be to add more seating - the downstairs and the porch could have used a comfy couch or two. That doesn't stop me from giving it a 10/10 - truly a wonderful place to stay! Even the grumpy pre-teen declared it to be "the best week of her life" - ! High praise indeed!

Our family had a wonderful time! The house was so well stocked! I didnt have to use any of the kitchen staples we brought from home! The place was clean, really cute and in a beautiful location! We enjoyed the bbq grill, lounging at the pool and had a nice little walk to the beach, which we pretty much had all to ourselves! We saw so many dolphins and manatees! It was truly magnificent!! Our hostess was friendly and kind. We got to visit with her about the place while she was doing some yard tending. She had the grounds well kept and full of beautiful plants and trees! We were very impressed and can't wait to visit again! Thank you so much for having us!

Relaxation at Captiva Cottage

My family and I just had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Captiva Cottage. The house was beautifully decorated, clean, and inviting. I enjoyed the lovely lower level private sleeping apartment with bath while my family stayed upstairs in a master suite with direct access to the screened porch. The kitchen was modern and included everything you need to prepare meals. The pool was a great place to relax with the bonus of a bald eagle sitting in a nest nearby. There was plenty of pool equipment and chairs as well as shade. We were near beaches and restaurants. Margarethe is a kind and responsive host. I highly recommend a stay at Captiva Cottage.

Perfect Island Cottage

This was our second time staying here. The location is amazing! The house is very comfortable, well maintained and well stocked and the screen porch is roomy and such a great place to relax. The private pool is just lovely. Can't beat floating in the pool watching bald eagles fly in and out of their nest right next door. The bottom level was redone since our first visit and is really lovely now. We can't wait to come back! we miss it already.

Sister's Celebration

We spent a week at the cottage to celebrate a sister's 70th birthday. The cottage is perfect for a small group like ours. It was very clean, beautiful, and well-equipped. The pool is an added bonus and we spent a great deal of time lounging there and watching the baby eagles in the eagle's nest

Captiva Cottage

My wife and I celebrated our birthdays and anniversary there. All on the same day! It was private, peaceful, and beautiful! So close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Our host was very kind and knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to. Fully recommend a stay at her property. Loved the edible landscape!
