The Corral de Serafín is a house that is next to the Patio del Carbon, these houses can be joined or separated on the second floor, it has two doors, if the group is large they open these doors and become a single house with 5 bedrooms , 10 people in bed and the possibility of 4 more in sofa beds and extra beds. if two different groups come, the doors are closed and one house becomes independent from the other, with nothing in common. The house is accessed through a very sunny outdoor patio especially in winter, and in which it is nice to take the cool in summer, the house on the first floor has the kitchen, a toilet, a laundry room and living room with fireplace for the winter. On the second floor there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds, with a capacity of 4 people being able to accommodate 2 more people in the living room or extra sofa beds, also has a full bathroom. In this house I looked for the simplicity of the humble town house, small house but it seems that it hugs you, the ceilings are made of round wooden sticks and attic in the purest style of the area.
In 1998, passing through Santo Cristo street, I saw Seraphim, son of Seraphim "el Choto", I asked him if it was true that they were selling the house and he said yes, I told him if I could see it, since I really like to see the old houses and invited me to pass. I was already in very bad condition, when going out at the other end, by the corralillo, I told him that I wanted that house and he said: well, look to see if we understand each other and buy it, if you wait for me
Let's see if they give me money at the bank, I buy it. On the stairs of the corral that go up to the haystack we made the deal, old-fashioned treatment, with a handshake, without lawyers, or small print. I felt very good thinking that two men had words, as before, when a man's word was a contract. I already had in mind the rural tourism and that made me throw, the truth is that I throw a little blindly, but totally convinced that this would work and that it was of the few possibilities that my development people had, taking advantage of the beautiful that was, the environment, the unbeatable situation that it had, halfway between a city like Granada and the coast, sheltering us in the foothills of the Sierra.

When I thought about the restoration
del Corralillo was very clear to maintain the traditional construction form. The stone wall of the room is the same as the block, the ceilings are round sticks, in the bedrooms also attic, so that the block became a living room, the corral in the kitchen, the clear corral in the courtyard, the marranera of the pig in toilet, the haystack in bedroom and the woodshed in another bedroom.

I asked permission of the children of Seraph to put her in the house the same name she had, and thus the Corral de Serafín was born. House to which I have much affection for the illusion that I put and for the work that cost me to do it.
