Just 21 miles from historic Charleston, Kiawah Island is nestled in semi-tropical wilderness, picturesque marshes with ten miles of wide, unspoiled, golden beaches. Our lovely cottage is conveniently located in West Beach with only a 5-7 minute walk to the ocean and private pool. Cougar Point Golf Course is right across the street where you can watch the players on the 18th green from the adirondack chairs or enjoy a meal in the brand new Clubhouse. Tennis courts, are also nearby at the award winning Roy Barth Tennis center. Enjoy a leisurely bike ride over the marsh to the many shops and restaurants at Freshfields marketplace. Watch the wildlife while lounging on our deck above the lagoon watching beautiful sunrises and gazing at the ocean in the distance. Our guest book in the living room is filled with enthusiastic accolades from our valued guests, many of whom return each year. We invite you to make our Kiawah home your vacation home as well.

Three parking spots are provided for your convenience.

Well behaved dogs are welcome at no extra cost. Sorry, cats are not accepted due to allergies.

Great stay at Kiawah - West Beach

Great cottage at Sparrow Pond. Easy walk to beach, pet friendly, almost across the street from Cougar clubhouse, plenty of beach gear. Owner was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend.

Fantastic location! Everything was as advertised to be. Loved that it was pet friendly and that the owners did everything to make sure that all family members enjoyed their stay. Perfect getaway. The weather could have been better but that was out of anyone's control.

Sparrow Pond Cottage

We had a great time at this Sparrow Pond Cottage. The communication with the owner was great and everything came as advertised. If you're visiting Kiawah with a pet, we would definitely recommend. Great location with quick access to the beach.

Sparrow Pond Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at this Sparrow Pond cottage. It was a lovely property at a great location on the lagoon and close to the beach. It easily accommodated our group of 5 and 2 dogs. It was such a treat to be able to have the dogs with us! We would happily stay here again.

My father, Joe Kay, although born in Lakeland, FL, grew up in South Carolina. After highschool in Moncks Corner, he graduated from the Citadel in 1953. My husband and I were introduced to Kiawah in 1979 and encouraged Daddy to come check out the beautiful island only 21 miles from Charleston. He purchased The Treehouse in 1986 and has shared it with renters every since!

Recently updated and refreshed, the Treehouse is your home away from home. Enjoy lounging on the new deck overlooking the life in the lagoons below. Just a 2 minute walk finds you at the brand new Cougar Point clubhouse where you can enjoy a meal, watch sporting events or play a round of golf. Our guests keep telling us how much they enjoy all the extra amenities we provide so you have few extra things to bring from home. We strive to make our place your home away from home! We love dogs and want you to bring your 4 legged children with you to enjoy (please bring their beds so that they will feel at home). Dogs can run free on the beach from October - March. Other months, you can still enjoy the beaches with your dogs on leash.
