A quirky cottage oozing character, formerly a local store with
lots of original features. Centrally located in the vibrant town

Once a charming little local store, this holiday cottage in Beaumaris has been renovated using the former flat above to create a spacious holiday home. From the original tiled flooring, antique workbench to the store front window, this cottage oozes with character and charm and it's great to see where the old meets new. As for location, you really couldn't get any better. Located in the heart of Beaumaris you are a short stroll from all the fantastic shops, cafês and restaurants. Not to mention the famous Central Bakery, which is just around the corner!
The bright open plan living space contains the old store front windows and is a lovely place to relax in with Chesterfield style sofas, a TV with DVD player and a wood burning stove. The dining space has a large wooden dining table to gather around.
The kitchen which is well equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and a washing machine.
Upstairs are the three spacious bedrooms: one with a King size bed, and two twin bedrooms.
There’s a surprisingly large bathroom with slipper bath, a separate shower enclosure, loo, hand basin and towel radiator.
Outside is a small walled courtyard with bench seating. You can always sit out here with your morning cuppa! Gwalia Stores, like many holiday cottages in Beaumaris, doesn’t have allocated parking but there is street parking is available.Alternatively, there is parking available on The Green where weekly passes can be purchased.
It is easy to see why Beaumaris is so popular with its brightly coloured houses, waterside location and striking views of the Snowdonia mountain range. There is so much right on the doorstep with a large variety of independent stores to peruse, a medieval castle to explore and the renowned Henllys Golf Club for the keen golfers out there. Walkers will enjoy a variety of country and coastal trails and with the sandy shores of Llanddona close by there is no excuse to not build a sandcastle or two. So as you can see, there really is something for everyone!

Town: Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
