Beautiful small 2-bedroom house in Iffley Fields

Beautiful 2 bedroom house in the sought-after area of Iffley Fields. The location is perfect: with lush meadows and the river within a few minutes' walking distance!
The house is very small, with a total floor area of 39 sq m, so it is ideal for a single person, or couple. It has a double & single bedroom, an open plan kitchen/reception, & a shower room which is off the reception, downstairs.
Outside there is a lockable area for safe bike storage.
It's approx a 25 minute walk/10 minute bike ride/5 minute bus ride to the City Centre. You can even walk/cycle/jog all along the river bank to the city centre!
The area is peaceful & inhabited by relatively well-to-do families & it is also popular with students.
Nearby is the bohemian Cowley Road with its diverse array of shops, cafes & restaurants.
One of the best things about this location is the Chester Arms - a great family-friendly pub around the corner where they serve really good food, and have friendly staff. Lovely to sit outside (or inside). There are queues for their traditional Sunday roast dinners!

Iffley Fields home

Had a lovely stay at this well appointed home in Iflley Fields. It is very clean, well kept and well stocked. It is perfectly situated for a variety of activities in Oxford. It is within easy reach of a variety of shopping and wonderful walking paths to explore. It's a 15-20 minute walk into Oxford. Bus stops, taxi and rental cars are close at hand as well. The pub right around the corner is quite convenient as are a variety of other places to eat close by. Enjoy!

Chester Street House

Apparently an architect/developer took this and the adjacent property to renovate them both in similar fashion with good finishes and details; especially a staircase, where they removed some walls and replaced with structural glass, a clever move to create more light in this very small, cute dwelling. The steps are illuminated at night, a good safety measure. The bathroom, which was an excellent layout given space limitations, was a tight squeeze, even for me, a small person. There is an induction cooker but no microwave or toaster oven, the thinking is that that is not needed ... thus a few more cooking items, such as small pans /pots for heating milk or small items, would be nice. Great hot water, lighting, heating, and wifi. Location super convenient: near to all the hustle bustle and international flavor of Cowley Road; the Donnington Bridge for walking the tow path; and the hip and trendy Magdalen Road, all right there, as is the redoubtable Chester Arms with its famous steak platter.

Great neighborhood

The property has a lot of great things within really close walking distance. The Chester Arms, a pub which a stone's throw away, has amazing food - the best lamb my husband has ever had! And the walk down the river is heavenly. The bathroom is quite tight (it is on the first floor). My husband and I are both thin but I do think it might be a difficulty if you are not. The kitchen was top notch and the clothes washer was very efficient. We stayed for 3 weeks in Oxford and I would recommend this place to anyone. Marilyn is a very involved host, even though she lives in London.

It is a nice house for a few people and the location is very good. We enjoyed our stay in Oxford.

Compact, modern house in quiet residential road within walking distance of Oxford centre

compact,clean,quiet house.5/10mins walk away is a great fish n chippy and a co-op as well as a park and the river and pubs.20min walk from city centre over Magdalen Bridge where you can boat hire or have great food in the oldest coffee shop in Europe or walk past the historic buildings on towards the shopping centre. Myself,husband,teenage kid used the house as a base to do some touring of the Cotswold which is less than hour drive as well as walking around Oxford.beautiful part of Engalnd.

Why they chose this property

The house is tiny and beautiful and high-spec. The area is safe, quiet, and fabulous - it's right near where I started off as a student a long time ago! It is wonderful to walk in the nearby meadows and sit by the river.

What makes this property unique

The designer was into light features - so the staircase lights up from underneath, and you can light up the top of the downstairs windows! Which is quite nice to do before you go out in the evening, so that they are lit up to come back to.
