Amazing location!

This is a fabulous apartment in a great location. Wonderful restaurant just downstairs with the best tiramisu and you can find really good pizza and pasta across a small street. Very close to the beach! Easy communication with just, apartment looks just like the pictures. We would definitely book again!

Apartment was as described and looked exactly like photos. Excellent location. Clean and very confortable. Beautiful! Issue with VRBO having double booked first 2 nights though. Owner was helpful in finding solution.

Spacious and a great location

This rental was very spacious with 2 kitchens, a large living room and good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. There was someone there to greet us at check-in and to go over the basics. She was friendly and kind. There was some work on the AC going on when we were there but that was communicated to us beforehand and we were just glad there was AC! It did not cause an issue for us. This rental is in a wonderful area with multiple restaurants and shops within walking distance. There is also a rocky beach with beautiful water (bring water shoes) practically in front of the unit, as well as two other swimming areas within walking distance as well.The rental was clean and comfortable. It was a great place to explore Sicily and feel like you were really in Sicily (but also having some of the comforts of home).

It was only okay...

Location of property is very good for exploring Ortigia and Siracusa. The property is a great size for couples, groups, etc. with separate washrooms and two lounge areas. Beds were all comfortable with quality bedding and good bathroom linens. We were permitted to drop our bags early prior to check-in, which was very convenient. However, the stairs up to the apartment are in need of serious maintenance, The railing in the loft bedroom is very wobbly. The table chairs were broken and/or quite wobbly. There is no leaf for the table which means tight spacing for meals eaten in. The balconies are foul with pigeon feces, so again, not very usable. We were supplied with unhygienic, used, old dish sponges for washing up as there is no dishwasher. There was no plug for the kitchen sink, making washing difficult. And finally, dishes, utensils, glasses, etc. were not sanitized or checked for cleanliness from the previous occupants.

An Ortigia Paradise

From the first communication with Emilia to the last, our stay in Ortigia was superb. Emilia graciously offered to book a garage for our stay...close to the apartment and so easy to communicate when we wanted to get our car. Emilia met us at the garage, helped with luggage up a short flight of stairs and entered into an apartment with three lovely appointed bedrooms (2 downstairs and the super lovely loft which my husband used as a man cave). Both my husband and I slept so well here (likely as we felt right at home) that we even asked to extend our stay...alas, it was not to be. We traveled with my mother-in-law who is 91 and our nearly 30 year old niece. All loved it and were very comfortable in our space. Very convenient location, great restaurants, and as we love cooking, we went to the market every day it was open, bought amazing food for extremely reasonable price and had a great time cooking together.... we even made gluten free sourdough bread while staying and had such a lovely time. Memories of a life time where made here. The kitchens are both nice, the white kitchen was more to our liking so spent most the time in there cooking. The beds are comfortable; even the sofa bed my neice used. I was pleasantly surprised how dark the rooms became and how quiet is was at night with the windows closed. Never used the AC as it was unnecessary. Only used the heat once and it worked quite well. The bedrooms are very large with high ceilings (except the loft) and the balconies give you beautiful glimpse of the sea. Was very special to wake up just before dawn and watch the sunrise. The timing of the moon had us see the moon early in the morning. Simply lovely. The three showers all had good water pressure and two of the three had very nice hot water. The loft shower did not turn higher than 38 degrees and Emilia is looking into that for future guests so likely will not be a problem for you. The place is very romantic with the niceties of home; we will be back and hopefully even later this year. I highly recommend....

Great apartment, great location

This is a lovely property in a great location. Tons of great restaurants nearby, and just a few steps to the beach. The beds and pillows are very comfortable, unlike most rental properties in Italy. It is clean and nicely decorated. The washing machine didn't work, but we found a wash-dry-fold place near by. Emilia was super helpful and responsive.
