Comfortable refurbished apartment ideally positioned to combine the charm of a rural English village with access to the coast. The Victorian building has been totally modernised. The downstairs apartment consists of a double bedroom, spacious living room including sofa bed, separate fully-fitted kitchen and bathroom with shower and bath. The living room contains a period fireplace but there is gas central heating throughout. A cot, high chair and extra single bed are available if required. Downstairs has a small, sheltered garden with garden furniture and BBQ. The apartment is on the level except that there is a small step down into the garden to enter the property, a small step at the threshold and two steeper steps up to the patio area in the garden. Parking outside and on the Green is free but a car is not essential for access to local amenities and beaches. It has WIFI. The adjoining upstairs apartment may be rented at a discount for those who wish to holiday with family or friends.

About the host
Hosted by Drayton Villas

My husband and I are parents of four and the lucky grandparents of four children. The whole family love to come down either together or separately.
Why they chose this property
My husband and I fell in love with the Isle of Wight because it is easy to get away from it from the mainland and we always feel refreshed after experiencing the peace and quiet and fresh air. This property is particularly relaxing as it is situated on a quiet residential street with easy access to the sea. Visits to the beach or lovely coastal walks can begin literally at the front door.
It's a perfect place to get away from it all, but if you feel like a bit more company there are also beach and marina cafes as well as the pub, restaurant and delicatessen on the Green.
If you are are looking for night life St Helens is probably not the spot for you unless you visit during festival time and use the free bus back in the early hours, or are prepared to travel a little way to Sandown or Ryde.
For larger groups of family or friends the upstairs apartment can be rented at the same time.

What makes this property unique
The property is ideally positioned to benefit from an old fashioned English country village at the top of the road and access to the sea if you take a short walk down the hill.
Despite its olde worlde appearance St Helens Green has everything you need : a well-stocked village shop/post office, bus stop, pub, children's play area, two excellent restaurants, village cricket matches, Sunday car boot sale in summer....the list goes on. But if you feel like a change of scene the isle of Wight offers an amazing range of activities, historical sites and attractions all of which can be accessed on a day trip by car or bus. It is perfect for a traditional seaside holiday or all the year round for walking and sight-seeing.
