Gwynt y Môr is a lovely single-storey property in a quiet residential part of Tywyn, yet is within minutes of both natural and industrial attractions. This terraced holiday property has a lovely living room and well-equipped kitchen in which to prepare the tastiest of meals, plus a sheltered rear courtyard. It is only a couple of minutes’ walk to the promenade which fronts the sandy beach, so don’t forget to bring your bucket and spade! The views from the promenade are stunning as the evening sun sinks into the sea on the horizon. On the promenade you will find a putting green and crazy golf course, as well as a café and children’s playground.
In the town of Tywyn, again a short walk, there are two supermarkets and a good range of individual shops, as well as a swimming pool and a lovely independent cinema showing the latest film releases. Tywyn is home of the Talyllyn Railway, the first railway in the world to be run by volunteers. Nowadays, the beautifully restored steam trains take you on a magical journey along the Fathew Valley to the waterfalls at Dolgoch and Nant Gwernol. There is also a fascinating museum and tearoom on the station at Tywyn. No visit to Tywyn could be complete without a visit to the honey ice cream shop – a tasty treat whatever the weather!
This is ideal walking country. Explore craggy Bird Rock and see the nesting cormorants or explore the ruined castle of Castell y Bere. From Gwynt y Môr it’s only 4 miles to the pretty village of Aberdyfi, the brightly painted houses of which seem to cling to the shoreline! Here you will find some friendly seaside pubs and restaurants, and a favourite pastime for children is to try crabbing off the jetty. To the north is the village of Llwyngwril, famous for its annual Yarnbombing Festival, and Barmouth, start of the Mawddach Trail walk and cyclepath, which passes over Barmouth Bridge and follows the trackbed of the old railway line along the Mawddach Estuary 9 miles to Dolgellau. Beach 300 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Our second visit to this bungalow in Tywyn only comment regarding the property is is could do with a walk in shower instead of the shower over the bath which makes it differcult for those with mobility issues otherwise perhaps some hand grips would be good in the bathroom Would have prefered a kingsize bed instead of a double but you can,t have eveverything otherwise we would deffinetly go again
The bungalow was superbly clean and tidy, everything had been thought of (EVERYTHING). It was an absolute home from home, only had to supply our own food, everything else was there, brilliant. The location for us was perfect, 10mins walk to beach, 5min drive to town, steam railway for grandson at end of road, perfect. Will definitely re visit. Meirion, the owner a real gent. Thank you.
