Other things to highlight
San Pietro in Bevagna
It is a fraction of the municipality of Manduria, a vital seaside resort in the summer, with wide beaches, crystal clear waters and the clear waters of the Chidro river and the Borraco river. Overlooking the Ionian Sea, it is a popular seaside resort for families. On clear days it is possible to see even the Calabrian coasts on the horizon. San Pietro in Bevagna TA
It is a very beautiful sandy beach, with very clear sea waters and shallow waters.
Thanks to the dunes and the long sandy shores, it is very suitable for long and beautiful walks. The small church overlooking the sea and the annexed little square that hosts concerts and other important events are of great importance. Along the coast it is possible to see the ancient medieval lookout towers, now in ruins, built by the Aragonese in the 15th century to create a system for the sighting of Ottoman fleets.
Also noteworthy is the Chidro river, a small stream characterized by always very cold water, even in the hottest months, and the homonymous Natural Reserve, which has some of the typical characteristics of the Mediterranean scrub.
