About this property
Lanui Guest House Moors
Accommodation in Sintra, with 8 double rooms with single and double beds with shared and / or private bathroom. Living room, kitchen and outdoor garden spaces and located in the center of Sintra. Breakfast included. We are a Guesthouse so you rent private rooms not all the house.
A few minutes from Lisbon, the Natural Park of Sintra and Cascais has almost 15 thousand hectares of countryside, sea and mountain, in a unique territory that extends from the Citadel of Cascais to the mouth of the Falcão River and from the Serra de Sintra and to the Várzea de Colares. Despite the unusual proximity to a large metropolis such as Lisbon, this territory has managed to preserve over time a harmonious coexistence between human presence and almost untouched nature.
The natural park of Sintra and Cascais is divided in two completely different zones: the agricultural zone, where fruit and wine are produced mainly; And the coastal zone, with numerous beaches surrounded by dunes, as in Guincho, or circumscribed by huge cliffs, as in the area of Cabo da Roca. In the middle, functioning as an immense natural border between these two territories, lies the Serra de Sintra, that immense paradise that enchanted the "romantics" of the XIX century and today one of the greatest business cards of this vast protected area, which It is also distinguished by the enormous variety of landscapes - dunes, forests, ponds or even a rugged coastline.
Of particular note are the Guincho-Cresmina dune system, Boca do Inferno, Praia Grande do Rodízio, on the south end of which there is a cliff above 120 million years old, marked by dinosaur footprints. But also Mount Penine, a true panoramic window on almost the whole of the Park or the Cape of Rock, the most western point of continental Europe. Equally appealing is the vast historical heritage located within the limits of the Park, which includes places such as the Castle of the Moors, the Palaces of Pena and Monserrate, the Quinta da Regaleira or the National Palace of Sintra, as well as the entire historic center of Sintra, classified by UNESCO as cultural landscape heritage of Humanity.
But heritage is not exhausted in history and nature. So is the Colares wine, produced here since the middle ages; The dishes of fish and kid or the tradition of conventual sweets, which have in the queijadas of Sintra its greatest symbol. And any abuse in gluttony is easily solved by walking the mountain range or surfing the perfect waves that also bathe this coast.
