Très belle maison de campagne dans le coeur de la Touraine (Vallé de la Loire). Ce logement pour vacances peut accueillir jusqu'à 6 personnes (lit bébé et lit pliant supplémentaire sur demande). Une très belle piscine partagée est accessible sur la propiete . Internet est limité La Caillère, a charming old house located on the Domaine de Vau Rozet in the middle of the forest, some hundred meters away from the château of the 15th century. This place is ideal to relax in the tranquility of the nature. The house, which can hold up to 7 people, has recently been fully refurbished to high standard. A large garden with a beautiful lake, as well as a big forest are available for outdoor activities, such as sports and nice walks. A shared swimming pool is accessible at the main property (700 meters) for relaxing moments. A full time concierge will assist our guests during their staying. The property is located in the heart of the Loire Valley, in the natural park «Parc naturel régional Loire-Anjou-Touraine». It is part of the private Domaine de Vau Rozet and sits in a beautiful setting, surrounded by private and fenced garden. It's a place of utmost tranquility and peace and offers you the space and nature that any busy mind needs to truly relax, switch off and enjoy! The next town, Bourgueil, is only 10 minutes away and offers plenty of vineyards, restaurants, local farmers market, supermarket etc. The picturesque town of Chinon is only 20 minutes away, as is Saumur. The area has plenty of castles, markets, vineyards etc to offer. If you are looking for something a bit more special, the famous zoo La Flèche is also only a 20 minute drive away. For the racing fans among you, Le Mans is 30 min away. The best option would be to come by car, as the property is in pure countryside. A BBQ grill is provided for private use.

A lovely and remote location. Plenty of wine tasting in the area and plenty to do and see if you don’t mind a half hour or hour drive. The cottage had all the essentials there and was comfortable. Watch out for the wild boar which managed to burrow under the fence and get to the rubbish bags. The pool area and lake were also a lovely treat. Would definitely stay here again.

Très bon accueil. Propriété magnifique. Gîte parfait ; tout est prévu pour passer un bon week-end. Dommage que nous n’ayons pu profiter du salon de jardin, à cause du temps.

Why they chose this property

My parents were always passionate about France, nature and old buildings. Their background is in furniture trade and they spent years refurbishing antiques.

When they found Domaine de Vau Rozet (main castle from 15th century) to which La Caillère belongs, it was love at first sight. All the buildings of the Domaine were in much need of TLC. My parents spent over 10 years refurbishing the castle and it's surrounding properties to high standard while respecting their original features.

The outcome is truly outstanding and has been well worth their effort and commitment.

What makes this property unique

The stunning nature and tranquility around the property is what made us fall for it. In many places the nature looks untouched and if you're lucky you'll even get to see wild life safely from your fenced garden. The large private lake surrounding the main castle is simply breathtaking.

We have had the best family holidays (and even our wedding!) at Domaine de Vau Rozet, especially when travelling with little ones. Here you can truly connect with your loved ones and nature again, it is just the perfect place to switch off and recharge.

It is perfectly located for the wine lovers amongst you, only 10 minutes drive from the famous Bourgueil! Restaurants and bars and super markets are close by (10 min) as are bigger towns such as Tours (40min) and Chinon (20min). There are plenty of other things to do in the area, such as visiting castles, antique and farmers markets, the fabulous zoo La Flèche (45min), boat tours on the Loire, cycling etc
