Very cluttered/bad location

The driveway needs major work. Every room was clutter and stuffy. Every bed had one side against a wall so the person on the inside had to crawl over the person on the outside to go to the bathroom. The front room had no room to sit and relax due to all the chairs in the way. There was no internet service nor was there any tv to watch local news. There were two cats and two chickens on property that we fed. The owner asked if we would feed them or they would come feed them everyday. The owner of the property came into the house while we were gone to get the food and feed the animals. That is NOT cool to do. There were bugs inside the refrigerator. The coffee pot was filthy and the grounds holder plunger broken. There was an odor inside the house like there were pets inside. There was a stack of twin size mattresses in the entrance of the house beside the entertainment center. The flooring was coming apart in the dinning room. The pictures online showed a nice covered area out back, but the screen was torn on top. We could not open the back door to go outside, the hinges were taped up. The dinning room chairs were catching our shirts and scratching our backs. All the furniture was out dates and not comfortable. The only good things about this property is the parking area is shaded, the water pressure is great, and the A/C worked fantastic. I would not recommend this property for anyone, especially if they drive a car. If I drive my car, I would have lost my front bumper.

Response from VrboOwner on 30 May 2024
John made comments but offered no photos to support his claims. Our team takes photos before the guest arrives including the inside of the refrigerator with time stamp. These photos are available upon request. It's not the driveway but the five feet State of Florida highway that has a drop off of 2 inches (photos available) so turn off the main highway slowly when accessing the property. Any guests, like at a hotel, not happy with accommodations ask for things to be corrected or leave and get refunded. VRBO call center will quickly find other accommodations and change your payment to the new property. That is a known fact of travelers like John since he travels with VRBO often. He asked for wifi code before arriving and I explained there was none. There is a red bin of food for the cats on the front patio to feed them when you are outside. No need to go inside the home to feed the outdoor pets. The Brinks alarm system shows when a door is opened and John can request that report. The twin beds are for extra guests and serves as a sofa as well; it is shown in the photos under a Ralph Lauren comforter and doesn't block the walking areas. The furnishings are from Wayfair (3,200 worth purchased 2 years ago) and the rest are hard wood, Ethan Allen and Tommy Bahama style. If real wood furnishings and Wayfair are not to your liking don't book a property clearing showing this style in all photos. There were 2 tornadoes this month and 5 large trees were knocked down. 1 landed on a corner of the screen enclosure. Of 18 screen panels 1 had a tear and is set to be replaced. If a guest wants something handled while they are there it will be done during their stay. The exterior doors were painted and the blue painters tape was only on the metal hinges to make sure it was not going to peel off paint. Brinks alarm system shows back doors had been opened. There are 3 coffee makers; Keurig, expresso machine and regular coffee pot. A new coffee pot is $15 and would have been replaced if requested. The coffee machine is not inspected with each stay. Clutter is mentioned but photos reflect ample room for movement in each room and any extra chairs not needed can easily be moved to another area. Odor has never been mentioned in the 8 years this property has been rented on other short term rental sites. There are 2 air purifiers in the home and each room is sanitized before guests arrive. The layout of the beds; which are queen and king size, pillow top beds is displayed in the photos. Particular travelers can ask for adjustments a few days before arrival and please ask many questions to clarify. He says he didn't like the location but his son lives here and he knows the area. The home is on a major paved road that leads to the highways and beaches and cities in the area. Questions of location could have been asked before hand. Again, photos are taken before guests arrive, Brinks alarm system monitors when doors are opened, furniture is expense, real wood and polished or new Wayfair, cats and chickens remain outside, staff is available before trip for questions and unlike John, please communicate issues upon arrival like you would at a hotel. Photos taken before your arrival can be sent to you as well. If unhappy with accommodations a new reservation through VRBO will be handled and funds refunded or reallocated without issue.

I am a professional, patron of the arts in 3 states and volunteer in the community and mother of two amazing kids. I moved to the Emerald Coast after a vacation. I fell in love with the white sandy beaches and horse filled pastures. I am an avid world traveler, student of cultures and language and love to read. I have been to the Orient, Europe, the Caribbean, South America and all over the US. My son attended Julliard & dances with national ballet companies. My daughter, a UF grad with 3 degrees, was dance team captain and has performed in Europe twice and teaches autistic kids. There's traces of dance throughout the home. Here find a calming retreat and adventure with many different options for fun and exploration without having to pull out a credit card every few hours. After a day, out and about, travelers continue the experience with a wonderful evening at the home. Time away from our hectic schedules should be amazing and never cost prohibitive.
