About this property

Beautiful Country Manor

Baldon House is the centre portion of a beautiful 18th Century Manor house (there is an East Wing and West Wing that are separate households). Set on the edge of the popular village of Marsh Baldon, six miles south of the historic university city of Oxford, the house is full of character and provides a wonderful holiday for the whole family. Surrounded by beautiful countryside full of walks and cosy pubs, it is the perfect getaway for peace and quiet. The seven bedroom house, that sleeps 12, blends both grandeur and charm, and has many period features such as high ceilings, marble fireplaces and parquet floors.

The bedrooms include: a luxurious Georgian master suite enjoying views across the countryside, with an emperor bed, large dressing room, stunning new bathroom with role top bath; a beautiful twin Georgian bedroom enjoying the same spectacular view with en-suite bathroom and walk in closet; a super-king (or 2 twins) en-suite bedroom with walk-in closet, enjoying views over the front courtyard, and church spire; a further double bedroom and two single bedrooms; three further bathrooms and a cloak room.

On the ground floor is a large, open-plan kitchen with breakfast room (stocked with everything you need including a nespresso machine for the perfect cappuccino), a well-appointed Georgian living room, and a beautiful historic panelled dining room seating 16.

Year-round, the house offers a wonderful combination of activities and relaxation. Eat al fresco on the South Lawn in the summer sun, enjoy eggs from the chickens and our own Baldon House pork and lamb. Have a go at croquet, treat the children to a pony ride or our very own on property Farm School, unwind by hitting golf balls on the lawn, or schedule a afternoon of clay pigeon shooting. In the autumn, warm yourself by the Aga after a brisk walk through the woods. Curl up with a good book by the fire in the winter and in the spring, watch the lambs in the fields or try your hand at shearing! Whatever your age or energy level, there is something for everyone.
