This traditional Canarian Casa is the final addition to our apartments at Finca Las Gaviotas. It has all the same shared facilities and ambience as El Teide and La Fuente which have been greatly appreciated by our guests, (please read the reviews on these properties and see what our guests say about their stay at Finca Las Gaviotas),but it is built high on the side of the barranco in direct line with the Atlantic Ocean. It’s where the kestrels fly and it has uninterrupted views of the coast, Mount Teide and surrounding fincas. Anyone who is interested in ornithology and the study of Kestrels will surely love it. The apartment has its own large terrace with amazing veiws and has just been completely renovated with a traditional Canarian kitchen including new saucepans, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils so you can make yourself completely at home and cook your favourite dishes. The bathroom is also new with towels provided, and there is a comfy sofa bed for a 3rd adult or child.
There is a separate terrace which has a natural stone pool, shower and WC. Along side the pool is a wood burning pizza oven, separate barbeque and kitchen where you can relax and share the facilities with other guests. There are beautiful gardens with flowers and fountains, and the apartment overlooks our own vineyard and neighboring banana plantation.
There are 2 other 1 bedroom apartments at the same location LA FUENTE property 8927243 and EL TEIDE property 8583967 so that friends and families can enjoy a holiday and the shared facilities together.
We are a 10 minute walk up a steep hill to shops, bars and the TF5 where buses can be caught for Puerto, Icod, Garachico, San Marcos, Santa Cruz, Los Cristianos, and Playa de las Américas, but a car is recommended.
The local attractions include Punta de Juan Centellas at the end of the road where there is a natural pool and the locals fish. San Marcos is 3.8 miles away with its beach and small harbour with bars and restaurants serving locally caught fish. Charco del Viento is 4.3 miles away with it's natural pools for swimming and fishing it's a place of natural beauty. Cueva del Viento has the longest vulcanic lava trunnels in Europe and is a place of scientific interest 8 miles away.
This is an ideal base for touring the north of the island.

We had a very good time in the cozy house, with a Beautiful view and great Terrace with pool. The owners are very friendly and communication was very friendly and easy.
Very nice flat for two people, quiet location with beautiful views, away from the busy tourist centres, well located by car for all excursions on the island, close to shops and restaurants, very nice and friendly landlord
We spent a few days here over Easter and felt completely at ease. The finca has a wonderful location with fabulous views, is very quiet and offers everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Our hosts are lovely and helpful people. The price-performance ratio is excellent. We will definitely be back!
We really loved our stay in Linda‘s lovely house! She was a very helpful contact who always replied in a few minutes and made sure everything is okay. Would definitely come back! :)
Our second stay here and we really appreciated the extra light and much improved outlook achieved by the pruning of the giant Strelizias and Yuccas. The gardens were beautiful and full of interest.

The vieuw was assom, very sticky road to reach the apartment.
A pleasure to stay in the beautiful north of Tenerife. This property has the benefit of being in a quiet neighbourhood , with expansive views of the mountains and ocean , yet well connected.
Restaurants, bars and shops, including a well stocked Lidl and greengrocers, are at the top of the road about 1km away.
The property itself is spotlessly clean, spacious , comfortable , well equipped and well maintained, there’s a large private terrace to enjoy the sun and great view across the valley.
Linda and Vicente are kind and generous hosts- it is a pleasure to stay with them
We had a great stay at Las Cernicolas. We enjoyed the beautiful views of both ocean and El Teide from the apartment and the large private terrace - which had sun for 5-6 hours each day during our stay ( in January). We saw kestrels at eye level most afternoons as they circled the barranco. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable. It was quiet and private enough for us to have a mixture of holiday and retreat over the three weeks that we were there, which is what we had hoped for.
Our hosts Linda and Vicente were very helpful, and exceptionally generous , providing us with fresh linens each week- they even brought us selections of the fresh fruit and vegetables produced on the finca which were delicious! They were very prompt to respond to an issue which we had with the internet in the second week and were able to fix it right away.
We found the apartment convenient and well connected- it’s a 10 minute walk ( uphill) to the bus stop, with regular direct services to Icod, Puerto de La Cruz , Garachico and Buenavista and a service through to Los Gigantes. A few minutes walk further on are a petrol station , cafes, bars , a pharmacy and supermarket.

Host cordiale ed accogliente, ci ha fatto trovare una buonissima bottiglia di vino rojo con calici. Un benvenuto che abbiamo molto apprezzato. La casa ha la giusta privacy ed una grande terrazza attrezzata sull'oceano che lascia a bocca aperta ed è arredata con gusto e grande cura. Tutti i comfort presenti. Eccezionali i lussureggianti giardini e vialetti della location, si vede l'amore per l'ambiente e la natura. Check in e check out gestibili in autonomia grazie alle dettagliate indicazioni dell'host. Possibilità di godere di uno spazio comune, ben separato dalla casa, con forno a legna, barbecue e tavernetta completa con tavoli vista oceano, e di una piccola ma suggestiva piscina in pietra, lettini ed ombrelloni. Parcheggio interno alla proprietà accessibile con telecomando, nessun problema al transito con automobile p(consigliata) per arrivare in questo lembo di paradiso.
Wir hatten eine tolle Woche in diesem hübschen kleinen Häuschen. Für zwei Personen ist alles da, was man braucht, sogar an warme Zudecken (im Februar) war gedacht. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse ist wunderbar. Alles war sehr sauber, Ein- und Auschecken hat super geklappt. Linda und ihr Mann waren sehr nett. MannMann waren
Nette Unterkunft, um diesen Teil der Insel zu erkunden
Die Unterkunft befindet sich auf einer sehr steilen Straße zur Küste in Buen Paso, einem Ortsteil (5 km entfernt) von Vicod de los Vinos. Die Terrasse ist sehr schön und groß, leider aber weht oft ein kalter und sehr starker Wind vom Antlantik herüber. Zum Glück gibt es in der Wohnung einen kleinen Radiator und große Decken. Bei 35 Grad im Sommer ist die Casa ideal. Abends sind viele Mücken zu Gast. Im Badezimmer fehlt für den Boden eine Duschmatte, da dieser immer kalt ist. Sehr nett war es einen Obstkorb und eine leckere Flasche selbstgemachten Wein zum Empfang zu erhalten. Linda hat einige Aufbewahrungsboxen vor Ort. Es gibt insgesamt drei Wohnungen in dem Hang. Den Sonnenuntergang konnten wir leider nicht genießen, weil dieser auf der anderen Seite der Straße ist. Um die Orte von Buenavista de la Norte bis Tacoronte zu erkunden ein guter Ausgangspunkt. Von dort ist es nur etwas umständlich, um auf den Teide zu gelangen.
Wir hatten einen 17 tägigen Aufenthalt an diesem hübschen Ort und hätten unsere Reise sehr gern verlängert. Inmitten von Bananenplantagen, seitlich zum Teide und mit Blick aufs Meer war es wirklich ein wunderbarer Ort zum relaxen und runter kommen. Sowohl der Check in und Check Out haben einwandfrei geklappt. Das Apartment war sehr sauber und es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Die Gastgeber und das Personal sehr willkommen heißend und gut organisiert. Wir kommen wirklich gern wieder. Das einzige was man vllt vorab wissen muss: Man sollte ein geübter Autofahrer sein um die steile Ein-&Ausfahrt aouverän zu meistern
Super liebe Vermieter, Vicente und Linda geben schon vorab Informationen, erwarteten uns mit Obstteller und Wein. unglaubliche Lage super ruhig und geniale Aussicht.

Die liebevoll eingerichtete Ferienwohnung war sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Die Vermieter sind überaus nett und freundlich, zur Begrüssung gabs eigenen Wein und Obst von der Finca. Der absolute Traum aber ist die grosse, quasi uneinsehbare Terrasse zur Alleinnutzung mit unverbautem Meerblick (den Teide kann man vom Gelände aus auch sehen). Eine weitere Terrasse zur gemeinsamen Nutzung mit Grillstelle und Minipool steht auch noch zur Verfügung. Sehr ruhige Lage abseits vom Trubel, mit dem Mietwagen ist man aber schnell überall hingefahren. Meinem Teenagersohn war es etwas zu ruhig und abseits, aber von mir absolute Empfehlung.
Wij hebben enorm genoten van het huis met het grote terras en het prachtige uitzicht op zee, bananenplantages en bij goed weer kun je de majestueuze Teide vulkaan zien. Het huis was super schoon en alles is aanwezig (wasresultaat, wasmachine, fijne handdoeken). De eigenaren Linda en Vicente zijn geweldige schatten. We kregen heerlijk fruit van hun landgoed. En zelfs zelfgemaakte wijn. We zijn er twee weken geweest en voelden ons er echt thuis. Het Noorden van Tenerife is prachtig en heel veelzijdig. Van gezellige dorpjes en prachtige charco’s om in te zwemmen tot interessante steden en geweldige hikepaden. We waren eerder op La Palma en La Gomera. Ruig en groen, perfect om te hiken. Maar in Tenerife kan dat dus ook heel goed. En als je gaat dan is dit huis een geweldige aanrader. Zorg wel voor een huurauto en iemand die een beetje goed kan rijden want de straatjes zijn soms smal en af en toe met steile stukken.

Très calme avec vue magnifique sur la mer, le Teide et la bananeraie, nous avons pris tous nos repas sur la terrasse petit déjeuner compris, Bon équipement
Alles war wie beschrieben. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Ein Auto hatten wir nicht und haben es auch nicht vermißt. Zu den Bussen und zum Einkauf sind es 12 min bergauf. Um etwas über das wahre Leben auf Teneriffa zu erfahren, braucht man keinen Bus - einfach weiter hoch, links und rechts durch die Dörfer oder Richtung Küste - lohnende Ziele mit Cafe, Tinto .... sind ringsum am Wegesrand.
Bei Fragen kamen von den Eigentümern umgehend freundliche, hilfreiche Antworten. Aus geplanten 8 Tagen sind dann 12 geworden - das sagt wohl alles. Wir werden gern wiederkommen. Nochmal herzlichen Dank an Linda und Vicente !

Owned by Vicente and Linda. Vicente was born on the island in Los Realejos and spent his childhood playing in the barranco and on the banana plantations. Having lived 44 years in the UK we wanted to buy somewhere in Tenerife North that offered the same space and freedom from his childhood memories. Las Gaviotas offered just that with it's idyllic location, and although it was completely derelict when we first saw it, we realised the amazing opportunity to achieve our goal and have spent the past 5 years completely renovating and lovingly restoring some of the beautiful features we found when we first viewed the property.
Why they chose this property
Finca Las Gaviotas has just finished a complete renovation and offers a high standard accommodation with outstanding views and an amazing pool terrace with it's own pizza oven oven, BBQ and bar where you can relax and unwind with uninterrupted views of the sea and Mount Teide. Each apartment has it's own private terrace and garden and there is a beautiful garden with fountain and established plants where you can relax and listen to the birds. The finca sits on the side of a ravine along a steep narrow camino leading to the sea. Camino la Punta was originally a fishing community with mainly locals living here, and still fishing is popular at the end of the road. The finca is just under 10,000 square metres and is surrounded by vineyards, banana plantations and barranco which offers natural habitat for indigenous plants and birds. We have many trees including bananas, avocados, oranges, lemons, limes, mangoes, papayas, and of course our own vines. We are in the Ycoden Daute Isora wine region which is famous for its white wines, and we grow Listan Blanco and Listan Negro grapes for winemaking. We are only a 10 minute walk from the main TF5 where buses can be caught for Puerto, Icod, Garachico, Santa Cruz, La Laguna, and the south, and it makes a good base if you are driving and wanting to tour the north of the island.
