PELLUHUE
Due to its strategic location on the coastal edge, next to the Pacific Ocean, and presenting an attractive offer for local tourism, Pelluhue has become an important tourist commune in the VII Region of Maule. Its population growth is one of the highest in the region: 17.2%, in the decade 1992 - 2002. During the summer months, especially on weekends, the population of the commune multiplies considerably because of the floating population of tourists. In the same way, the number of buildings has increased considerably, these mainly consisting of summer houses. The coast of the commune experiences a full fill during the summer, especially in the month of February. The sector between Pelluhue and Curanipe, which borders the coastal road, which runs along attractive beaches and rocky areas, has been the most favored with this boom, which has led to numerous and colorful recent constructions. For this reason, the rapid settlement of space between Pelluhue and Curanipe anticipates that in the not too distant future, both locations will be linked.
