Take a complete break from reality in this gorgeous casita surrounded by colourful plants and olive trees, with its own private pool, overlooking fabulous views of the mountains and Lake Vinuela.

Just a few minutes drive from the typical whitewashed Andalucian village of Periana with local bars, restaurants, supermarket, church, chemist, village square and all amenities, La Casita is ideally located for a wonderful holiday in the Axarquia region of Andalucia.
Larger coastal resorts including Torre del Mar and Nerja are 25-40 minutes drive away, great for beaches, watersports, beach bars, shopping and plenty of nightlife. The fabulous city of Malaga is 50 min drive away with its scenic port, beautiful old town, Alcazaba and Cathedral, along with numerous tapas bars and restaurants. Locally you will also find mountain biking, horse riding, walking, fishing and golf. (Baviera, 30 min away)
Skiing can be found during the winter months in the Sierra Nevada mountains 2 hours drive away.

Casita 1: Open plan kitchen/dining room with fridge freezer, microwave, electric hob, oven, and all kitchen utensils. Walk in pantry, iron and ironing board, nespresso coffee machine, dining table and chairs.
Cosy sitting room with wood burning stove, Smart TV with UK freeview channels, Stereo/ipod dock, WIFI.
2 double bedrooms: 1 with double bed and 1 twin. Both have built in wardrobes and air conditioning.
Bathroom with 3/4 bath, shower over the bath, wash basin, toilet.
Babies: Cot and highchair available on request.
Outside laundry room with washing machine. Bed linen and bath towels provided (please bring your own pool towels)
Outside: Portable BBQ, pool loungers, dining table, chairs, umbrella. Seating areas among the olive trees. Beautiful gardens to wander through. Sandpit and swing for the little ones.

La Casita is part of 2 charming 200 year old cottages, possible to sleep 10 in total, (La Casita, 2 bed sleeps 4. Casita 2, sleeps 5/6), set in their own olive grove with spectacular views over Lake Vinuela, mountains and the sea. Each has its own private pool, gardens, terrace, play area and decking. Sunbathe on the deck overlooking the lake or shade amongst the olive trees ideal for a lazy picnic or read. Lemon, orange and almond trees can be picked in season.
Each cottage is private and they are available separately or can be rented together for larger groups or families(both child friendly)

Rustic gem

Great Rustic property set in a lovely garden with a fab pool and views over to the lake. The owner and property manager were great and made sure we had all the information we needed. I would definitely recommend booking this place.

My First Solo Trip

I love this place. Has some quaint authentic Spanish features but all the necessary mod cons too. I’ve been here before and remembered a hammock which is still there and I spent some peaceful relaxing hours reading a book with a warm wind washing over me and a fantastic view of the lake and the hill beyond. Bliss!! On hand to help is the lovely Palmira who makes sure everything is as perfect as it could be. Going home very chilled and relaxed. Thank you.

Absolutely fabulous!

The villa is rustic and in a beautiful setting. The grounds are so tranquil and you can relax in the pool and admire the stunning views. My husband and I have fairly stressful jobs and this was the perfect setting to chill and relax. There are plenty of local villages to explore and the nearest coastal town is 40 minutes away. Directions to the villa are accurate and the roads leading to it are easily accessible, which isn’t always the case when staying in rustic properties. The villa is well equipped and you could quite easily not venture out for a few days. A special thank you to Angela who was the contact whilst we were there, we had an issue with the boiler but this matter was very quickly resolved and correspondence was quick and accurate. We have been visiting the Axarquia region for many years, but this villa is probably the best we have stayed in and we can’t find any negatives or faults, we can’t wait to stay here again in the near future. Idyllic and relaxing stay in Andalusia

We stayed in Cottage 1 for one week. The house is nice and cozy and sufficiently spacious for four people. The garden and pool area are wonderful with many plants and a perfect view to the turquoise lake. It is even more beautiful than on the pictures. Would recommend the place 100%.

Magnifique séjour

Nous avons séjourné 10 jours dans ce très joli cottage situé sur les hauteurs de Periana. Un véritable havre de paix au milieu des oliviers, citronniers et amandiers. Le jardin en escalier est magnifiquement arboré et offre de très belles perspectives sur le lac. L'accès à la propriété est très facile et le cottage, à la décoration soignée, est très bien équipé. La communication avec Lisa, la propriétaire, et Angela, le contact sur place, a été excellente. Nous ne pouvons que recommander ce merveilleux endroit . A découvrir absolument ! Stéphanie et Yann

Bon sejour qui c est un peu mal fini

Bonjour Nous avons passer une semaine le mirroir de la chambre est tombe tout tombe tout seul il n etait pas fixer la glasse ne s est meme pas casser la prorietaire nous dit qu on la casse. J ai un enfant handicape mon fils etait malade une nuit il a vomit et fait pipi dans le lit la propietaire a demande 150 livre qu on a paye je trouve ca pas sympa.

A little piece of paradise!

We arrived in the dark at nearly midnight, not knowing what to expect when we arrived having only the pictures to set our expectations. There was a welcome basket with everything we needed to sort us our after a long afternoon travelling and just enough lights to have a peek around the property. It wasn't however, until the morning we realised just how incredible this villa and its location was. The views are absolutely spectacular, the villa itself has endless pockets where you can sit an relax, enjoy some food and take it all in - whether that's on the decking, by the pool, amongst the trees or on the patio. The villa itself has a lovely homely feel and was easy to settle into, there's ample storage space, plenty of room to move and a safe. Beyond the villa, Periana is a lovely sleepy village where you can meander the streets, the village in the opposite direction had a great butchers/bakers so stocking up was easy. Further East Frigiliana is a beautiful hillside village that's well worth an afternoon and a couple of wines. Granada was perfect for an evening meal and a starlit trip up to the Alhambra and its grounds. Seville offered stunning architecture and a memorable daytrip to one of the hottest (in more ways than one) cities in Europe. The walk from Periana along the old rail route was filled with stunning views up to the mountains and down to the lake and beyond. Finally kayaking on the lake was well worth the experience as it gives a totally different perspective of the area (plus a good workout). All in all it was a wonderful adventure in a beautiful pocket of Andalucia, the villa offered a perfect base for us to adventure out and about while still maintaining a space where we could escape it all and just enjoy our own company. The views are stunning, the setting is perfect and we wouldn't change a thing about our stay - especially getting engaged, that was pretty awesome. If you're thinking about booking, stop, just book it, you won't regret it.

Beautiful picturesque and delightful cottage

We had a fantastic stay in this quaint and beautiful Spanish cottage. The accommodation and facilities were of a high standard. The cottage was extremely clean and beautifully furnished. We stayed for a week and the cottage was the perfect base to explore the local area and close enough to a water park for the children or the beach both just 25 minutes drive away. We stayed at the cottage in the daytime for 4 out of the 7 days as we had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the stunning views of Lake Vinuela whilst enjoying a dip in the lovely pool. This cottage is perfect for a relaxing holiday in the peaceful sourroundings overlooking Lake Vinuela. It is only a few minutes drive to the beautiful little town of Periana where you can enjoy some tapas or have a drink in one of the bars. There is also a supermarket which is perfect for provisions and also fresh bread and fruit. There are plenty of stunning restaurants within minutes of the cottage and an excellent butchers just minutes down the mountain if you prefer to barbecue. I would highly recommend this cottage for its stunning location and high standard of accommodation. Will definitely visit again. Thank you for a great holiday.

Fabulous!!!

We stayed here in October last year. The cottage was amazing, in fact the best Iv ever stayed at. It was full of quaint Spanish charm coupled with a great family atmosphere. The pool was beautiful and the views from the deck, pool and cottage were breathtaking. Kids played in the pool all day whilst we relaxed in our own beautiful surroundings. This was a perfect holiday in perfect surroundings. All in all a totally perfect holiday. Am definitely going to book again this year. Cant wait to go back.

Hi we have 4 boys and have had the cottages for 20 years. We have spent many happy holidays here since the boys were little. It is ideal for toddlers and children as they have so much outside space and freedom to run around. We now live in England but previously lived in Spain as we really enjoy the relaxed outdoor lifestyle.
The cottages are perfect for family and friends time. We love to spend days by the pool and evenings laughing around the table or venturing out to our favourite restaurants.

Why they chose this property

We love the area of Periana/Lake Vinuela as the scenery is stunning, it is very peaceful and you get a taste of real Spain. It is away from the crowds of the coast but only half an hour to the beach, so easily accessible whenever you wish to go. You can easily explore both the Costa del Sol or the many stunning scenic drives in the mountains and villages of Andalucia. We enjoy the outside lifestyle and exploring many tapas bars in the hillside villages! as well as driving to the coast and relaxing on the beach. You can travel easily to the cities of Granada, Malaga or Cordoba experiencing the Andalucian lifestyle, fantastic architecture and special treats such as the Moorish baths. In winter we love to travel to the Sierra Nevada to ski (2 hrs away) and then head back for some sun!

What makes this property unique

The casitas are just a few minutes drive into the village of Periana and a few local restaurants and bars, so you can chill by the pool and then easily nip out for something to eat and drink. Children have a ball here, running around, swimming, climbing trees and generally playing outside. The pools are fenced (cottage 2) or gated (cottage 1) as safety by the pool is always an issue to us having little ones ourselves. The cottages also have a sandpit, swing and hammock to keep the children amused, Casita 2 has a slide and playhouse too.
