For those who love walking, the Roman promenade of Albenga starts from Albenga, Via Julia Augusta, a path facing south and all halfway up the slope, immersed in the Mediterranean scrub. It is a section of the road built at the time of Emperor Augustus to connect the Po Valley with Gaul and Spain, dotted with the remains of a Roman amphitheater and a necropolis with 7 funerary enclosures dating back to the first century.
