Charming stone haven stunning sea, view SPA MTB & hiking paradise, Alassio hill
Alassio is a charming and elegant Riviera resort, offering more than just beautiful sea and sunshine. It's an excellent place for sports enthusiasts and nature lovers, especially in spring and autumn. You can enjoy mountain biking, hill walking, tennis, and paddle at the renowned Hambury club, as well as sailing and golf in Garlenda. You will enjoy all the amenities this villa offers, available exclusively to you. The only exception is the top floor, which is entirely independent. We will use it when necessary, indeed upon your arrival to welcome you and upon your departure to say arrivederci. What makes this special is the chance to rent both this house and Villa La Maclura—adjacent but completely separate—at the same time. A rare opportunity—but not an obligation!—here in Liguria, a region that is not very flat and doesn't have many large open spaces because it's squeezed between the sea and the mountains, yet it's full of stunning locations. Our property is one of these. So friends and family can all gather—only when they choose—to fully enjoy this corner of paradise with all its wonders, just like us during family times. At the end, it's perfect for large groups—check our twin villa next door. The recent restoration of the house has been a labor of love, focusing on reusing materials such as stone discovered under the old plaster, original terracotta paving, and chestnut wood for the ceilings. This unique blend of materials, combined with our meticulous attention to detail, creates an unforgettable, charming atmosphere. You'll always find tranquility in the house despite its proximity to downtown and distance from the summer bustle. The house is part of the private Borgo, with its first documented history dating back to 1522, and is nestled on the grounds of an ancient castle. It consists of three country houses: Villa La Maclura, Il Gombo, and a private house for our family. Each house features a pool, garden, chill-out area, BBQ, entrance, and parking space. The villa boasts three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one lounge, one lounge-diner, one smaller lounge/bedroom with total privacy, one large kitchen, and one utility room, spread over two levels (150 sq m). The villa’s ground floor and first floor are exclusively for guests. As noted, my husband, Riccardo, and I will occasionally stay in the attic of this house, especially during the high season, to provide you with consistent yet discreet assistance with all your needs, including garden maintenance, pool monitoring, irrigation, and appliance maintenance. We recently installed air conditioning in the south bedrooms on the first floor for your comfort. The north bedroom has a large, elegant ceiling fan with wooden blades. We have also fitted all bedroom windows with mosquito nets to ensure peaceful, undisturbed sleep. Outside, you'll find a BBQ on the terrace garden at the ground floor level, perfect for al fresco dining. There’s another BBQ in the large garden below, just a stone’s throw from the private (exclusively for you) SPA. The outdoor area is fully equipped with comfortable garden furniture, inviting you to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. PLEASE NOTE *Due to technical reasons, bookings between March 31 and May 17, 2026, must be made seven days in advance. *Villa La Nicchia is part of a single property, the ancient Borgo of the family castle; it includes three detached but nearby houses and is 5.5 km from the center of Alassio. You can reach it via a typical two-lane Ligurian road with multiple curves, except for the final 1.2 km, which is narrower due to the terrain. *The SPA, a private and relaxing feature, is generally unavailable from late October to late March/mid-April because the heating pump cannot warm the water to 30° if outside temperatures are below 15°, especially at night. However, we encourage you to ask about the current status, as climate change and recent unusual weather patterns may influence SPA availability in spring. The SPA's heating cost is included in the house rate. *Reading and observing the house rules are part of the rental agreement. You will receive both before your arrival. *We are flexible on many matters, especially regarding the two additional fees you pay as you go. One is the extra fee for good LPG heating (1), which we cannot estimate in advance. We will calculate the consumption together on the morning of departure; the cost is likely to be around €5.50 per m³. The other concerns the final cleaning fee (2), which is not shown in the website payment summary because it depends on the number of guests and the number of nights stayed. The minimum fee is €100, and the maximum is €160, payable on the morning of departure. The Tourist Tax is €1.50 per person per night. For your information, the Alassio Municipality has decided that tourist tax payments are only accepted from the property owner, not via any booking platform. *Check-in is available from 4:00 p.m.; check-out is by 9:30 a.m.

Elisa and her husband Riccardo are such lovely people. This house is literally perched atop the most beautiful Mediterranean seaside mountain. Incredible views and really lovely accommodations made this trip one to remember. Elisa was kind enough to make reservations all over the region for us (do take her up on this, all her choices were excellent). It was the perfect end to an unforgettable European vacation.
The house is an old wonderfully situated house in the hills above the town. It's quiet and beautifully equiped to prepare even pizza in a stone oven (!). The hosts are wonderful and are always eager to help with anything. We had a great time staying there.
The house is a gem! Exactly as in the pictures. Pet-friendly. We loved the house and the pool. The hosts are very welcoming and communicative. Would stay there again!
A great villa with very friendly landlords (many thanks for everything Elisa and Riccardo). After 10 minutes in Alassio - the villa with a view of the sea. Great barbecue area and garden area.
We spent a week in Elisa‘s and Riccardo's villa in June and we were extremely impressed by its ambience and the wonderful view on the bay of Alassio. Added to this there are the friendly and committed hosts who were always very helpful. We all enjoyed our stay very much and we are sure that we will spend our vacation there again. Many thanks to Elisa and Riccardo!
The house and property drew us in and we simply didn’t want to leave. The pool is ideal on hot sunny days as it is tucked away in a grotto of sorts. You are able to swim all day in the shade without being cooked by the sun. This was especially nice for our 2 year old. The patio next to the pool is filled with new patio furniture to relax on. The adjacent yard was perfect for kids to run and play in.All the mattress in the house are new and very comfortable. The kitchen has every type of implement you could need. House was very clean and welcoming. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. We are already making plans to return.
We (my cousin and I , spent a wonderful time in this magnificent place!!! Everything was really perfect. Not only the house (there can`t be a better place anywhere in the world!), the overwhelming landscape, the incredible views
but also our very kind and friendly hosts Elisa and Ricardo who completed this extraordinary
experience!! We surely will come back one day!
Un Immenso grazie a tuti e due e mille baci!!
Perfect house in the hills not too far from town/beach
Two families stayed the long weekend here with 3 kids 10, 10, 8.
It was beautiful and well kept, perfect little gem with a big property, covered semi heated pool and all the things you need in the kitchen.
We enjoyed the sun, pool, gorgeous outdoor dinners and view. Very cool indoors at night.
The host was so welcoming and booked us dinner 5 min away one night.
Alassio is 15 min away down the windy road so convenient enough for a beach day and shopping in town. Easy parking.
Just a perfect vacation spot. Wish we could have stayed longer.
One thing to note, it wasn’t advised to use the pizza oven in a short stay but totally fine for a longer stay.
Highly recommend.
Elisa and Riccardo are excellent hosts, the quaint house is beautifully located in the hills of Alassio. Kids loved the heated pool (and it is shaded, as you wish today for sun protection). The interior is lovely maintained, with small things making a difference. The equipment leaves no wishes open. If you look for a more remote place away from the busy ocean front, look no further. We rate it definitely 5 stars. One caveat: you need to be twisted roads-proof. It takes around 10-15 minutes through very narrow uphill roads to get there. But once you get there, you never want to leave again. Thanks Elisa and Riccardo!
It is clear that Elisa and Ricardo have invested their love into this property. The interior was renewed and crafted into a lovely building and a place to enjoy. The exterior grill and pizza oven area and landscaping are stunning the warm soaking pool is very unique. There are ceiling fans (unheard of in Europe) in the bedrooms and also window screens!!!! Unfortunately, these are the only screened windows. The lower windows would provide a welcome flow of air. Elisa has thoughtfully placed the operation manuals for all appliances adjacent to the item for “how to operate” each device. Evening and morning views of the Mediterranean are to be cherished. Near by is a lovely trattoria for eating extremely well prepared meals. The road up to the retreat indeed a driving challenge for those inexperienced with driving in Italy. Only the last 20% is to be driven with extreme caution. Just be careful on the corners and there is NO PROBLEM. You should know that contrary to the listing there is only 1 shower. The upstairs bathroom has a bathtub with a hand held shower wand. We ended up sharing the downstairs shower which was very good. The photo of the house is deceptive. It does not properly reflect that there is another home/rental 4 meters to the left and Elisa and Ricardo have another rental home 10 meters to the right. If privacy and solo access to the property is a concern, you should ask before renting. We were luckily the only occupants.

Thank you so much, Larry, for choosing our Villa La NiCChia and for leaving us such a generous review. We're delighted that you had a pleasant stay and appreciated many aspects of our property.
We have noted your comments about the proximity of other homes. As you rightly mentioned, information about the different units and the property's layout is fully disclosed in the listing description, precisely to ensure maximum transparency for our guests.
We appreciate your constructive feedback and will consider it as we continue to evaluate how to enhance the visual presentation of the listing.
We hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future!
The vieuw upon arrival was overwhelming. The Mediterranean colored with the weather and we discovered different shades of blue. There are 3 houses in a row. Only "our" house is visible in the foto's. Eliza en Roberto live upstairs in the appartment of our holiday home. Occasionally we heard them, but this was not annoying. They are warm and welcoming and quick to answer our questions of fix something if it was broken. They respected our privacy and made us feel good. They have adapted the interior to the old house. We think a little less stuff would enhance the strenght of the building even more. Outside everything was great: the garden, the spa and the area that is perfect for beautiful walks. In moglio there is a bakery with delicious crackers called Chiappe. The car is really a must to discocer beautiful places such as Alassio, Cervo and Albenga. We really discovered a piece of paradise on earth and would have to stay longer! Dear Eliza and Roberto, thank you so much and we will recommend your piece of paradise to everyone. Also to ourselves :) Merry Christmas!
We had a great stay at the beautiful house. The hosts are super friendly and helpful. We got great recommendations for a beach/ Bagno and Restaurants and they were always here to help. They were extremely accommodating and understanding about a private problem we had, what we highly appreciated. Thanks again!
A few things could be improved to meet our higher expectations regarding the 500€/ night in total:
The pots, pans and knifes in the kitchen are old and not really fun to cook with.
We didn’t understand why we had to park the car outside the gate. With a toddler and grandma it could have been easier for us with all the grocery shopping and beach stuff.
For this price we thought our stay would be a little more private. We didn’t know that there are two further rental houses on the same property and that the hosts live in the upper floor which surprised us the most. There is a wooden door which separates the rented area of the house from the upper floor, but they also have an own entrance. Having the host checking the garden once a day was a little odd as well in our eyes. We felt a little controlled from time to time.
All in all a beautiful vacation with little things we weren’t fully happy with.

Thank you, Julia, for your detailed review of La NiCChia. We appreciate your feedback, which allows me to address some points that would benefit our future guests. So, I'll go into detail too.
It's crucial to reiterate that the rental rate should not be combined with the Vrbo fee, which could lead to confusion. If you talk to your host, please consider the rental amount without the platform's fees!
We often change the house equipment. The pots (from Ikea 365inox steel) and pans (Linea Kasanova) mentioned were last year. A couple in Teflon had traces of limescale. I'm sorry about that; daily water boiling is the cause. Unfortunately, the dishwasher does not remove them. Just a few drops of vinegar, as our grandmothers recommended.
We do not know how to reply about the knives (Rostfrei) but thank you.
Villa la NiCChia is part of the old family property; the castle and two other country houses compose a true little Borgo that served the castle in the past. You can learn more on the website's first description page and later in the rental agreement, just as you can learn about the private destination on the top floor. The two things can be read positively: on one side, the unique charm of a private aristocratic context, shared by few; on the other, the priceless feeling of a sense of lightness knowing that there is someone – the owner, not an agency - who takes immediately care of every annoyance that a house usually, but not always!!, could afflict who stay (irrigation system, appliances, lack of power or water, trouble with WIFI, TV, Air. Co heating, pool…) or assistance with any information about the area, restaurants, beaches, and locations to visit… as our guests know!
Since your comfort is our top priority until possible, you can (of course) enter the property through the lighted olive-treed path whenever you need to. Once you've unloaded your belongings, we kindly ask the "driver" to park in an area just outside the gate.
Our conscious green choice is a testament to our commitment to preserving the aesthetic of our surroundings. We believe that this effort enhances the overall experience for our guests, demonstrating our care and dedication to your stay.

Thank you, Sabine, for taking the time to review our house, which is exactly 5.5 km from the noisy center of Alassio.
For our future guests, I want to point out that the provincial road goes up for 4 and a half km and has a certain number of curves but is two lanes. In short, it is a "normal" road for us Ligurians squeezed between the sea, hills, and mountains. We even have the Alps! The last kilometer is the modern version of what was a mule track to reach the Castle of Vegliasco and its Borgo, whose owner (our great-grandfather) wanted to make it accessible to everyone. The Municipality later took care of asphalting it. It is narrow, and only two small cars can pass in both directions. Even if we wanted to, it is impossible to turn it into a highway, and in any case, you must always drive sober and concentrated, whatever the road.
The Vegliasco Region's fantastic view requires patience and a 15-minute drive (20 for the less experienced and first-timers).
Regarding the "Locanda della Torre Antica," 350 meters above our property, it has no longer been an event location for many years but a beautiful, excellent, and refined restaurant with no live music or disco. The Internet still reports their activity in Vegliasco, but that is in the past. The music you heard comes from the disco La Suerte in Laigueglia, which, during the Ferragosto period, extended (illegally) the times of disco music. Sometimes, it can happen that, due to the sea wind, the notes can reach the hill, but it is an exceptional event that perhaps only you (neither we nor the other guests who are still here have heard anything) have had the misfortune to experience and that we cannot predict in any way. This privileged place offers quiet (even in the evening), priceless views, and all the well-being that the hundreds of trees surrounding it can give, 15/20 minutes from the center of the Alassio resort.
It is precisely like a refuge at the top of the ski slopes in your beautiful mountains!
.... a sì gestori simpatici e molto disponibili. Perfetto!!!

About the host
Hosted by elisa sertorio
First of all, an explanation! As you saw, the owner has a name, Luca Raggi, and it's true. But the lines below describe a piece of my life and my feelings. I am Elisa, your contact; Luca is my children's dad and our tax representative, too; this is why you see him as an account). So, we have completed this great project with him and my second husband, Riccardo, pictured with me in the round above. The house, dating back to the XVI century, is completely restored with care and love for the past. A job that lasted over five years, meeting all kinds of difficulties. The opportunity to publish the pictures you just saw is a source of pride and great satisfaction for all our family - Vegliasco is our place of the heart - but especially for me, I confess. The project was so exciting to induce me - an executive in a big company - to radically change my working life. A good result, I think, but what an effort! I worked hard to get it, but now the dream of my life is a reality. I have shifted some of my passion to the home walls. I hope you feel what I mean if you stay here for some days!
Why they chose this property
The house belongs to my family for over one hundred years. The best point of our property is just its fantastic nature around us and to the" tableau vivant" that the sea view offers every day. It's really unique.
The house, just 5,5 km from the coast, takes away the heat and the crowds of summer months and gives the feeling of having the sea in the countryside.
What makes this property unique
You'll find here comfort, charming simplicity, peace and quiet. This enchanting place allows you to be physically active and mentally relaxed. You can game golf at Garlenda Club, play tennis at Hanbury Tennis Club Alassio, swim, trek... The recent restoration of the house has been a real love job, centred (also) on the reuse of materials: stone- discovered under the old plaster - original terracotta paving, chestnut wood for the ceilings. All that, combined with the attention to detail, sets an unforgettable charming mood. Never fails to the peaceful at the house whenever you like. So near to downtown and so far from Summer mess.
