Villa Miramare is in a stunning position with a lovely private pool and tropical garden enjoying amazing views across a wooded gorge towards the wide, blue sea with the longest sandy beach on Crete. It is secluded in its own fully enclosed south facing gardens on a ridge at the end of a leafy lane outside the hamlet of Mathès. Villa Miramare is fully equipped for self catering and is perfect for couples, friends or families looking for a fantastic getaway! This is a real home from home where you can relax in style enjoying fabulous sea views from our lovely pool, terrace and balcony - an ideal base for exploring the island.

The Villa is less than 3 km from the bustling family friendly town of Giorgioupoli with its tavernas, marina and tourist services (shops & supermarkets). The long Blue Flag sandy beach (10km) is wonderful for swimming and walking; the beach bars and tavernas are very welcoming and usually offer free sun beds and umbrellas for customers. Our Villa is also just 3 km from the nature reserve and waterside tavernas of Kournas Lake.

A beautiful place to unwind!

If you are looking to de-stress and chill then Villa Miramare is the perfect place to do it. You are just 10 minutes drive away from miles of sandy beaches, and same distance from the charming town of Giorgioupoli. Kournas Lake is a stones throw away and its worth making the journey up the mountain to Kournas Village to visit Kali Kardia taverna. The pool is a prefect size too - the pictures don't do it justice! We hope to go back soon...

We spent a wonderful holiday in this stunning villa with a breathtaking view. The villa is fully equipped and furnished with love. We felt at home from the first moment we arrived.A small problem with a window, caused by the wind, was solved within an hour. The local manager, Gina, is very nice, friendly and helpful.The pool is wonderful and regularly cleaned by a friendly (almost invisible) guy.The owners are well organised, we got very good and helpful information on time. Even we didn't see them, the correspondence and every contact was without any problems and very friendly.To make a long story short, Villa Miramare is absolutely stunning and recommendable!P.S.: I do not add photos, because it looks exactly the same as you can see in the ad.

Amazing holiday

Our holiday started when we drove up the hill towards Mathes. We were curious to see what the villa would look like in real life, and it exceeded our expectations. The villa and its breathtaking view were just wonderful! Everything was well-thought out, and even the little things were taken care of. The communication with George and Carolyn was very easy and they were quick to respond. The same goes for Eleni, who fixed a bathroom issue within less than 24 hours. Also, the very relaxing pool was taken care of perfectly by Christos. We enjoyed our stay at Villa Miramare and hope to come here again in the future!

Fortnight in paradise

spent 2 weeks at Miramare in August, had a fabulous time. The pictures really don't do it justice. Spent many a lovely evening sat on the comfy chairs looking at the sea. Lovely aircon, perfect sized pool at 28C, great kitchen, quality WiFi. What more can you ask for?

We have always loved Crete and have enjoyed many fantastic villa holidays here with our two children over the years. George is Greek and his family originates from Crete so we both feel a special bond to this island.

We always dreamt of having a home here one day and fell in love with Villa Miramare as soon as we first stood in the shade of the pergola and gazed across the natural wooded gorge towards the sea. We bought the house in 2018 and have since entirely landscaped the grounds and designed the pool to fully enjoy our spectacular views. We have made this our winter home so the house is very comfortable and well equipped; the garden is always sunny with lush planting but has shady spots ideal for outdoor summer living.

Villa Miramare is a tranquil and restorative place where you can really unwind and we are sure you will love it as much as we do!

The villa is situated in an oasis of tranquility with fantastic unobstructed sea views just 2.8 km outside the little picturesque town of Georgioupoli, overlooking the olive groves and the Cretan sea, 22 km from the lovely town of Rethymnon, 38 km from delightful Chania town and only 2.5 km from the longest sandy beach in Crete.
