I'll be kind and simply say a pressure washer on the outside would do wonders and removing the Christmas wreath (it was a June rental) would let me know this cabin gets weekly attention. The exterior had spider webs all throughout. And yes, I killed a couple of bugs on the inside. I get it... the cabin is in the woods, but maybe have an exterminator do a quarterly spray inside and out. The cabin is in a great location for seclusion, but its past-due for a make-over and update. Not what I thought I was getting after arriving. This particular cabin has a lot of potential, but needs a few days or couple of weeks updating and cleaning. I would rent again, but only if it received a much needed flip.

Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to share your thoughts.
Our cabin is on a regular monthly pest control program, but being nestled in the mountains and surrounded by nature, occasional insects and spider webs can still appear between visits. We understand this can be frustrating and appreciate your understanding that it comes with the natural setting many guests enjoy.
The wreath on the cabin is actually a year-round rustic decoration handmade by the owner and is intended to complement the cabin's mountain charm. We realize decor is a matter of personal preference, but it is not a seasonal Christmas decoration.
We will certainly take a look at the exterior and plan for a pressure washing once the pollen season has passed. Thank you for bringing that to our attention.
Regarding the cabin's style, this property is designed to offer a cozy, rustic mountain cabin experience rather than a modern, newly renovated retreat. The photos in the listing reflect the cabin as it is, and many guests choose it specifically for that authentic cabin feel.
We're glad you enjoyed the secluded location and appreciate your suggestions. Guest feedback helps us continue to improve while preserving the character that makes this cabin unique. We hope you find accommodations that better match your expectations on future travels.
Cozy little cabin up in the mountains. Secluded but still close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Cabin was well maintained. Amazing view of the mountains from the back porch with hot tub! Definitely recommend!
The cabin was clean. The furniture was comfortable. The fireplace worked great with two nice steel doors on the front to keep sparks out of the cabin. It was fun to go to the store down the hills and go shopping. There was enough amenities around the cabin to get the things we need to stay and eat inside. The shower was extremely hot perfect water. The thermostat was easier to work the notes they left for a fireplace not they have the air on or perfect and understanding the back porch had a nice view. The smoke detectors worked perfect. I know this because I burnt the bacon, but we opened both door doors to get some air through the House and the alarm went off very cozy and private did not anticipate it to be so good. Would love to come back thank you Andrew and LEN.
My fiancé and I loved our time at the cabin. The views are exceptional. It’s a perfect stay in the hot or cold and provides a welcoming place to unplug.
Let me tell you about this adorable cabin that had a porch with rocking chairs with a view of the mountains!!! Not only that…. There was a real fire place. Everything needed to build the fire was provided!!! We didn’t use it , but “yes” there was a hot tub too! This was my perfect getaway.
Had a great stay at McKenzie Cabin! It was clean, cozy, and perfectly located—close to town but still peaceful with beautiful views. A great spot to relax and unwind. Highly recommend!
