Casa Puente Roto, in the southeast of La Palma, panoramic views and tranquility.

In the natural landscape constituted by the lava flows of the San Martín volcano of 1646, this little house invaded by the sun is immersed, at the top of a hill from where you can see the sunrise reflected in the sea. The house is accessed through a track that crosses the Barranco de Mederos. Behind the house we can see the Pico del Cabrito as well as abundant pine forest typical of this volcanic area. The situation of the house away from light pollution, makes its terraces a good point for the observation of the sky and stars. The house is located about 20 minutes from the town center of the town of Villa de Mazo, where you can visit the Red House Museum, the Insular School of Crafts, as well as the Market, where you can buy typical products of the area.

The cottage is very old and has no heat. It was very cold inside and the winds were blowing through all the gaps to inside the house. Even though there are 2 heaters and a fireplace, they were insufficient to keep the place even tolerable warm. There was a small amount of firewood provided which would have been not enough for our stay and we were told to purchase wood if we needed it. The cabin was more ruined down that the photos show and the garden had broken furniture and was in a poor state. I requested a full refund and left shortly after arriving. The owner provided a full refund. Just know what you are getting into. An old cabin with no heat on a very cold and windy side of the island with lots of road noise from the highway both inside and outside of the cabin. Would NOT recommend staying here.

As we understood that the house did not meet your expectations and given your evident dissatisfaction, we of course agreed to provide a full refund shortly after your arrival. That said, we would like to clarify that the house is not a ruined property, as can be seen from the positive reviews left by previous guests who appreciate its character and atmosphere. It is a traditional Canarian rural home, and part of its charm lies in preserving the typical architecture and cultural heritage of the islands. The house is located in a rural area near a local road, not a highway, and while the weather conditions during your stay were unfortunately cold and windy, this is not representative of the experience many guests enjoy here throughout the year. We are sorry that the weather did not allow you to enjoy your stay, and we sincerely wish you all the best in your future travels.

Ein Kleinod, wenn man Naturliebhaber ist. Innen war alles sauber und ordentlich. Der Garten ist recht wild, man kann aber gut darin sitzen. Uns hat es sehr gefallen.

Gute Lage und Blick

Ruhig trotz naher LP-2 fantastischer Blick auf La Gomera und Teneriffa. Sehr grosse Fenster für typisches Canarenhaus. Relativ hoch und kühl, wir mussten um die Jahreswende viel elektrisch heizen.

Schönes Haus an guter Lage

Das Haus ist gut eingerichtet. Der Garten ist leider nicht so gepflegt, was schade ist, denn sonst ist es wirklich ein schöner Ort. Gut erreichbar von der LP2 her.
