About Paul McGrath
Visited Chatham for the first time in 1977--fell in love with the town and knew I would be back. After spending two and a half years looking found this very special house in a fabulous location close to the house we rented the year before. It was a three bedroom, 2 bath-since then we have done a 2,000 square foot addition adding 4 more rooms. Two more bedrooms, 2 more bathrooms and two more common rooms. This house holds SO many memories for my family and for the families of our many tenants. Both of my daughters were married in Chatham and had the wedding group at the house prior to. The house has hosted a 60th wedding anniversary, several 80th birthdays, many parents of the bride or groom pre wedding, and dozens of extended families gathering to create memories.
Paul McGrath purchased this House in 1982
Why Paul McGrath chose Chatham
The LOCATION! Quiet, private neighborhood, large lot with much room for outdoor activities. Add to that a 10 minute walk to Oyster Pond, a 15 minute walk to downtown. An after dinner walk down to Stage Harbor or a one mile bike ride to the Lighthouse Beach are added extras. The house has always been loved and it shows.

Wonderful house for two families
Lots of space to spread out. Absolutely love the rooftop deck. Teens hung out there every night to look at stars and just chat. Owner very nice and on top of everything.
Great space for families
This house was perfect for our extended family vacation. The backyard and roofdeck were beautiful and the bedrooms were spacious. There were also lots of different areas in the house where people could hang out together in the evenings or on rainy days. (We spent most of our days out.) The house is close to town and a short drive to a number of different beaches, which are all great for families. The owners were extremely responsive and clearly care for their home and guests.
This is a gorgeous, spacious property with a great location. The manager was very helpful and responsive. I do find the policy of not including bath or bed linens (without additional cost) to be frustrating as I have not encountered this at any other properties we’ve visited.
Thank you Jana for your kind words. It is fairly common on Cape Cod for tenants to arrange for their own linens. Those house that do provide them generally charge a higher rent or have a "linen option" which is another fee. My experience has been is that anyone renting from West of the Mississippi is shocked when they find out.
Thank you for being fabulous tenants.
A wedding celebration weekend - lovely property - beautiful grounds -wonderfully walkable neighborhood
A Wonderful Getaway
We enjoyed visiting this property for an end of summer getaway. The listing photographs give an excellent preview of all of the charm that makes this property a special destination. We especially enjoyed the picturesque backyard with its lovely natural elements that attract beautiful butterflies and birds. Paul was easily accessible throughout our booking process and stay at the home.
Wonderful house and great owners.
WE HAD A GREAT TIME. WE WOULD HAVE LOVED TO STAY ANOTHER WEEK.
Beaches, restaurants, shopping, biking, walking. They are all in Chatham.
