Property location lovely, dog walk on the doorstep, with a walk to the River Avon. The owners left out dog towels, balls and poo bags very much appreciated. Clean property, comfortable with all that you needed.Only a short stay this time but will be back.
This was our second stay here & we would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet getaway. We really appreciated the new garden furniture as the weather was so nice for us.
Brilliant place to holiday with dogs as, you can walk straight from your door, just make sure to have your wellies on if there has been much rain. Nicely tucked away location with totally contained garden.
The cottage is well equipped and has everything you need for a great holiday.
We had a great week here in April
The house is very nice and cosy. I went with my elderly mother (82) and the house was perfect for us because there are no stairs except for one at the entrance. We enjoyed the terrace in the sun and our evenings with card games in the living room. The garden ist sourrounded by a fence so that it is also perfect for dogs or children. The neighbourhood is very quiet. The house is perfectly situated to explore the area around Salisbury and Stonehenge. There is also a nature reserve in the vicinity and it's not far from the south coast. We had a wonderful week!
We really enjoyed our stay at the bungalow, which was ideal for my disabled husband. We were out meeting friends every day so the area was good. As said before by others, it would have been nice to have a small freezer section in the fridge. A small folding stool would be handy in the kitchen. The garden would be lovely in the summer. Thank you for a nice few days.
Lovely little property. Great parking and garden area with excellent furniture for outdoor lounging.
Well equipped kitchen, although knives & scissors need sharpening. Good storage in the main bedroom, not so much in the smaller bedroom. Lounge area a good size but dining chairs very uncomfortable.
With a Water Treatment Plant and Farm nearby; Nat's were a problem in the warmer weather and although there was some mesh for the front door, the windows could do with this as well, especially as there was only one fan throughout the building. No chiller box in the fridge. That said it does not put off staying again.
Couple of very minor comments; blurb stated ice box in fridge - it didn't exist. Not a problem as it wasn't high summer!
The gate drew blood (snickett) as I didn't get finger out of way - my fault but do need to be cautious. Other than that, ideal.
As seniors, 75 -93 years of age we found all furniture and bed much too low.
Outside furniture fine and overall perhaps an umbrella for the round table in the hot weather.
Ps I left my wine coolers in the freezer 😭😭😭
When I booked this property, I didn't realise I was supporting an animal charity, which I was very pleased about, also the price was very reasonable compared to other properties I had looked at. The location of the property is perfect, it is not overlooked in any way and only one neighbour some distance away. So it was lovely and peaceful. The grounds were most welcome to our little dog who loved having the space to run around freely with no worries about him getting out anywhere. The kids enjoyed having the space to play football too. The property was great, functional, had everything we needed. It was a little hot in the bedrooms though at night (end of May/beg of June) so some fans would be welcome. Plenty of nice towels supplied. My suggestions to the owners, if funds allow or donations could be gained, would be to change some of the furniture, the sofa is not very comfortable if you are sitting watching a film for a couple of hours or so, also it would be great if that was a sofa bed as my partner was too hot in the bedroom so ended up sleeping on the floor in the lounge a few nights. The table and chairs whist perfectly functional, the chairs were uncomfortable on your back to sit and eat a meal. The double bed I also found a bit too hard for me, but that might be personal preference. The location we loved and will most likely return, but maybe in the autumn time when there are less mosquitoes around as we did get eaten alive! Take some prevention plug ins or spray if you are going in the hotter months. One mix up we had was that the Vrbo website gave us check in and check out times an hour different, so that needs to be sorted out. It told us we could check in at 3pm and check out at 11am, but it should have been 4pm and 10am as the staff arrived when we had not left. To summarise we loved the location and outside space, the accommodation had everything we needed, just a little bit more comfortable would be great, but it won't put us off returning again. Thank you for a lovely break.
This is an excellent "get away from it all" property with a perfect quiet location, yet convenient for Fordingbridge and touring the area. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. We hope to return again next year.
We had a lovely and comfortable time as a family of 4 with our dog. The garden was secure and great for playing with the children and the dog. We found lots to do and eat in the nearby Fordingbridge and surrounding areas. From the tea/milk and biscuits on arrival to the pretty sunsets and cows in the neighbouring field, we couldn’t fault it.
Lovely little hideaway-way better than advert shows! Excellent location, away from main roads but easy to walk into Fordingbridge. Great garden space for dogs or kids & excellent sunsets. Well stocked kitchen, very clean. Electric shower (so not a hot, power shower but still does the job.) would go back time and again !
We have just spent a few days at this accommodation, found it clean and homely. Lovely views at back of property (shame it was missing a window or better still conservative to enjoy it more). Close to local shops but set away in quiet lane. Great for dog.
We would recommend this accommodation and would happily return another time.
I took my two eldest grandchildren away for a 4 night trip and I'm delighted I'd found this little gem. The satnav directions were spot on, and - despite the hideous rain - we arrived and eager to explore. We entered to find a clean, tidy and homely space - the kitchen was fully equipped (but sadly no veg peeler), and my grandson was thrilled to find the PS2 complete with games. There was a drawer full of videos and masses of toys. The beds were very comfortable, and there was loads of hot water. The heating worked well with a turn of the thermostat, and it warmed up quickly. It was July, but the rain was chilling. We only needed an hour of heat and enjoyed hot, bright sunshine for the rest of our stay. It was a great base for visiting local sites, too. Having a morning cuppa in the garden, watching the cows and listening to the birds singing was a very calm way to start the day. Diane, the owner was always available if a problem arose.
One thing ... I would have been pleased to have more shelves in the fridge. However, the little freezing compartment was very useful. We would definitely return another year, and can recommend you try it. It's a great step up from our usual caravan!
