About this property
Dog-friendly converted Mill w/ hot tub - sleeps 8
THE COTTAGE
The Mill House at Goonwinnow Farm is one half of a large stone barn that has been sympathetically converted to an extremely high standard from the original mill. Character features such as exposed beams blend seamlessly with modern comfort and convenience to provide a relaxed environment for your holiday.
Spacious, upside-down open plan living with original features and vaulted ceilings in the living area make the space feel light and airy. The Mill House comfortably accommodates up to 8 people (no sofa beds!) and is the perfect space for group get-togethers and multi-family stays. Set out in reverse style, on the ground floor there are three bedrooms, a shower room and a bathroom. On the first floor there is a large open plan kitchen, dining, living area plus a further bedroom and a shower room. From the first floor you can enjoy the views across the valley towards St Newlyn East.
Up to two well behaved dogs are very welcome at a cost of £30/dog per stay.
Ground Floor: 2x superking bedrooms with 6' double bed or twin singles, one bedroom with twin singles. Family bathroom with shower over bath & WC. Shower room with WC.
First Floor: Open plan living room and kitchen with a dining area. Twin bedroom with 3' zip & link beds which can be made into a 6' double bed. Shower room with WC.
Exterior: The front door opens onto a small deck with 5 steps down to the ground level. There is outside seating, a fantastic hot tub and kettle BBQ (charcoal not provided). The communal rustic games room houses table tennis and some smaller games.
Great for groups of friends with the beds split into singles and really handy for family groups with no-one getting the short straw of a tiny room.
Need more space? The adjoining Wheel House sleeps 8 guests and by booking the two cottages together you get an enclosable private driveway/parking and two hot tubs to enjoy!
Or why not add on the gorgeous studio suite ‘An Leti'. Perfect for grandparents or other extended family members who want to holiday with the rest of the family but would like a quiet sanctuary to retreat to at the end of a hectic day!
LOCATION
Situated in a beautifully secluded valley, Goonwinnow Farm stands in its own 7-acre grounds and is the ideal location to explore Cornwall. Located just one mile from the A30 in a beautiful, central part of Cornwall, you'll be close to the many stunning beaches of the North Coast and Newquay. As well as being only a short drive to sleepy fishing coves, glorious moorland and many of Cornwall's varied venues and attractions.
The farm is just a mile away from the village of Mitchell with its lovely 16th Century pub. An easy walk from Goonwinnow, The Plume of Feathers retains many of its original features and serves locally-sourced food in the bar area, conservatory outside in the sunny beer garden.
Newquay's excellent surfing waters are a 10-15 minute drive away as are the many beaches which are now home to many music, surfing and lifesaving events. Newquay Zoo houses 130 different species in sub tropical gardens in the centre of the town. The town also has an Aquarium, a Waterworld and numerous immensely pretty beaches. Trerice run by the National Trust is 3 miles outside of the town is an Elizabethan Manor House and garden. Holywell Bay, with its beautiful beach with fantastic sand dunes and a little stream for paddling is just 5 miles away. In the summer months the beach is patrolled by lifeguards and of course, surfing lessons are available for those keen on learning.
