About this property
Agriturismo Montioni Florence - Frantoio dell'Arte - Chianti
Hi, I'm Massimo I'd like to host you in Montioni in my farmhouse nestled in the hills of Chianti Fiorentino.
The Montioni farmhouse is located in a strategic position just 20 minutes by car from Florence, 5 from the Pontassieve train station, one hour from the most important Tuscan cities of art such as Siena Lucca Volterra and San Gimignano, 15 minutes from The Mall.
The apartment is very spacious, about 80 square meters, furnished with antiques and equipped with every comfort.
The WiFi network covers the entire apartment and the external spaces adjacent to the house.
In the evening, it is pleasant to relax in the large garden, enjoy the view of the Arno valley from the terrace or cool off in the conversation pool.
Il Frantoio dellArte is a ground floor apartment that comfortably accommodates 2 people: entrance, anteroom, a double bedroom; two steps lead to the living room with an authentic mill crusher and a large working fireplace, a small kitchenette with fridge and dishwasher, a bathroom with washing machine. The apartment is furnished with fine furniture and is equipped with all comforts.
Of particular interest in the apartment are some interesting collections on display.
First of all, a collection of 17th century glass made up of 40 pieces of different origins, including a 17th century Murano stoup, four Murano wine glasses from the end of the 16th century and ten pharmacy bottles in fine blown glass with particular and bizarre shapes. To enrich this rare collection in the center of the living room, an 18th century Murano crystal chandelier makes a good impression, while in the bedroom above the chest of drawers a Venetian crystal mirror of the '700.
On the right wall, upon entering the living room, a beautiful collection of maps drawn between 1650 and 1690 is displayed, reproducing various European regions; entering on the left instead we find a map of 1800 that reproduces central-northern Italy.
On the shelves of the library there is a fun collection of ponies of various origins and from different eras.
The furnishings of the apartment are represented by various pieces of furniture of considerable value: in the bedroom, in addition to the mirror already mentioned, the bed is embellished with a Louis XIV headboard covered in pure gold. Also in the bedroom, a Louis XVI chest of drawers, a 18th century Louis XV style lacquered wardrobe and a Venetian lacquered console.
In the entrance there is a chest of 1800 from the Montanelli family with a coat of arms and an important 18th century Venetian flap desk in walnut briar. Above the bench, a large painting opens onto a field of sunflowers, the work of Louise Schnabel, the nephew of the best known Julian Schnabel.
In the living room there is a double Spanish sideboard from the 14th century, an important 17th century brother with six 1500s Lucca chairs.
Finally, under the window, a Venetian cupboard of great value from the 1700s.
Noteworthy on the sides of the library are two Chinese paintings from the 1700s while above the sofa a contemporary work by the painter Gianni Cacciarini; the drawing in sanguineo is by far the first work of the Maestro (student of Annigoni) with studies on the human figure.
