Lovingly restored farmhouse part of small complex of 5 gîtes provides great family accommodation. Martrieux has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a lovely secret garden with barbeque. 10 acres of gardens, woods, meadows to explore in the Perigord Vert National Park. The sleepy hamlet of Nadaillac nestles in a river valley between La Rochebeaucourt (5km)and Villebois (8km) close to Angouleme and Perigueux. A stunning rural position with walks straight from the door yet all amenities close by.
Large 12m by 6m heated pool ( open May to September )for relaxing by, paddling pool, Real paradise for children of all ages, children's play area with swings, sandpit, football, games room, boules, badminton, basketball, table tennis, air hockey, bikes, woods for den making, pond dipping and private FISHING LAKE.
Kitchen with range cooker and dishwasher, the chef amongst you will be happy! lounge areas with English and French channels and free internet.
2 kingsize doubles, one super king size double, 2 ensuites, one twin bedroom, and a family bathroom. Take your breakfast in the secluded garden with a fresh croissant or pain au chocolate.
A short walk for the properties is our 1-hectare fishing lake. Well stocked with carp, roach, pike, etc Recent catch 18lbs carp!!! All equipment and expertise can be provided by Richard

Un grand merci à Nicky et Richard pour un accueil magique et chaleureux! Le gîte était parfait, propre, grand et parfaitement agencé. Rien ne manquait! Je recommande vivement pour toute famille avec des enfants, nos enfants en bas ages ont profité de la piscine, des jeux à disposition, du trampoline, de la balançoire et tout le reste! C'était des vacances en famille formidable, comme chez des amis! Cela faisait longtemps que nous recherchions un endroit comme celui ci! Merci encore à vous 2 pour avoir pu rendre ce rêve possible! The perfect holiday for families in a beautiful location

We were looking for somewhere suitable for two families, each with young children (2 years old). We arrived on the Sunday evening later than we had expected, and we had no food! Nicky and Richard gave us food and drink leftover from their family bbq which was very generous of them! It really was the perfect holiday for young families. Nicky and Richard were able to recommend day trips suitable for the children, including local towns and lake beaches. Our gite was very well equipped, and a cot, bed guard and high chair were provided on request. There is a child friendly pool which is well secured (to prevent children going there unattended), with plenty of floats, toys and sun loungers. The play room is also well equipped, and perfect for a rainy day. Everywhere you go on the site there was something to entertain our children - a playhouse, a trampoline, swings, and other toys. Each gite has an outdoor seating area and bbq. There are plenty of pretty woodland walks, and the children particularly enjoyed the butterflies in the meadow. Nicky and Richard were always on hand, and made us feel very welcome. A brilliant holiday location. We will return! Sarah, Stu & Thomas, and Lucy, John and Anna

Wonderful week for the whole family

Very comfortable in Martrieux gite with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Kitchen new and brilliantly supplied. Pool good size and games room much used! Enjoyed fishing and made very welcome by Nicky, Richard and their kids.

Perfect family holiday

We've just had our first family holiday staying in the Matrieux gite with friends. It is just like a home from home. There was everything we needed and more for the children. The hosts were so friendly and gave great advice on what to do in the area and made sure our stay was just perfect. The swimming pool was amazing and we had loads of fun in the games room! We would love to return as there's still lots to do, we just couldn't fit it all in. The holiday really did exceed our expectations and we hope to come back.

Incredible

Once again we have just had the most lovely holiday at their beautiful location. Truly lovely hosts Nicki and Richard made us feel totally welcome as always. We already looking to book a longer stay next year. The location is wonderful and the accomodation and the people make it what it is. Beautiful swimming pool and grounds make this the perfect place to relax and kick back having the beautiful surrounding towns and hamlets a place never to forget. It is just lie our second home. These people make us proud to see our fellow Brits making a wonderful place for all the rest of us to stay and enjoy. Thanks Richard for the wine, we are just having a tipple to your health. Séjour parfait !

Chaque gîte est réellement indépendant avec son jardin privatif, son hamac, corde à linge etc. La piscine est très bien entretenue (avec accessoires fournis, bouées, tapis, frites, de quoi s'amuser) et il y a véritablement TOUT sur place pour passer un séjour reposant. Si vous avez des enfants en bas-âge, tout est sur place (lits bébé, chaise haute, baignoire, jouets, ventilateurs, bac à sable, balançoire etc.), en cas de mauvais temps, une très grande salle de jeux avec un billard, une table de ping pong, et une salle de sport séparée. Barbecue sur place également. Le site est extrêmement calme, situé dans un lieu-dit avec très peu de circulation. C'est la campagne profonde ! Les alentours sont jolis, à une demi-heure de voiture vous trouverez de beaux villages, des châteaux, des grottes, un lac aménagé en plage. Les hôtes sont très serviables. Je recommande très chaudement !

Beautiful setting, owners very welcoming

The listing description accurately reflects the location, layout and facilities. The swimming pool was fantastic, very child friendly, with a very secure gate and fencing; it was really comforting to know that my 20 month old son could run around the complex with the older children without us worrying that he'd be falling in the pool if we weren't watching him. There were lots of toys and activities to entertain younger children, so don't worry about taking toys to entertain your children, and also lots of activities for older children too, cinema room, games room, bikes and even tractor rides on occasion! The gite was very comfortable, and well equipped. We did have a problem with a leaky shower which we did report, hopefully this will be sorted! The owners were very friendly and sometimes socialised with us which was nice. The owner's children were fabulous, and our children loved playing with them. This gite offers good value for money, and we'd recommend it to our friends. We had a great holiday!

heel leuk verblijf om met kinderen te vertoeven, elke dag zwembadpret, gebruik van mountainbikes, echt al het nodige is voorhanden en met vragen kan je steeds bij de eigenaars terecht, alleen jammer dat de pizza avond bij ons niet kon doorgaan, maar absoluut een aanrader om te logeren
