About this property
Casa Costa Classica one step away from the station, port and aquarium
THE APARTMENT is located in the heart of the historic center of Genoa. A step away from the Principe Station and the Maritime Station, five minutes from the Aquarium of Genoa so loved by children. The arrival is very comfortable with the train, the flixbus, which stops in front of the Maritime station, therefore very convenient also for arrival or departure from the port.
The apartment is large, with two spacious bedrooms: one double where it is possible to put another single bed, another with single beds, from two to four. Large living area with equipped kitchen and sofa (single bed), two bathrooms with shower. Sheets are included, you will find the beds ready according to your requests, and towels for everyone. From home you can move on foot or by public transport with ease.
Shops and small supermarkets are open until late, various restaurants in the surrounding area.
Via Prè is a pedestrian street but it is possible to arrive by car in the parallel street Via Gramsci, where you can park. For those passing through, I suggest a guarded and covered garage at 20 / 3euro per night and day: Garage Ponte dei Mille, being able to leave unnecessary luggage in the car.
HOST I am Alessandra, architect, wife and mother of two teenage twins. I love Genoa and its historic center, which is one of the largest in the world! Genoa is opening up to tourism and people from all over the world are starting to appreciate it. To admire its beauties you have to walk through its narrow streets with your nose upwards to notice the beauties of the buildings, where you can read the vestiges of the past, stone arches, mullioned windows and newsstands with Madonnine and patron saints of the various neighborhoods; richly decorated portals and ancient noble palaces. Going up to the heights from Spianata Castelletto or Righi, instead, you have to let your eyes run over the houses at your feet on the harbor, the lantern and the sea ... The city is at your feet! a part of the city that rolls over the sea for 30 km, therefore with many small towns that deserve to be visited .. Boccadasse at the end of Corso Italia, Nervi with its promenade and its beautiful park, but also the parks of Pegli or Prà. And if you have more time you can also admire the beauty of the Riviera between the green of the vines and olive trees and the blue of the sea.
I will be available to provide you with indications and suggestions.
NEIGHBORHOOD Sometimes the alleys or 'caruggi' as we call them in Genoa, can give a sense of insecurity by being narrow and full of people, but you just don't have to get into the narrowest alleys and you can easily turn around and discover churches, palaces, votive shrines and shops.
Arriving by train in two minutes on foot, you have arrived home and from there, walking around the center is very easy and you can easily walk. The aquarium is five minutes away, being the apartment facing the sea museum, on the old dock.
You can easily reach the expo area, but also the cathedral of San Lorenzo and the most modern area of the city, passing by Piazza de Ferrari, with its fountain and Palazzo Ducale which always hosts very interesting exhibitions, on the same square there is also the Carlo Felice Theater, the opera house.
It is also possible to visit numerous noble palaces, walking in Via Balbi, where the literary universities are located or in Via Garibaldi, where apart from the almost magical atmosphere, there are the palaces and museums of Palazzo Bianco and Palazzo Rosso and their important art galleries. To go home from the center you can take bus 20 and get off at Principe
