Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Please note no glasses or glass beverage containers are permitted in the tub room.

What a wonderful house! We loved the hot tub and large windows allowing us to enjoy the surrounding trees and birds when we weren’t out exploring. The host provided everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend getaway. We’d stay here again!
I spent a wonderful week in the house in early June. The space was perfect for us to relax, cook meals, and still get some work done. It is perfect distance between the bay and the Atlantic, and easy access to sites and restaurants.
Great funky house. Lots of light and windows that pulls the outside in. Wonderful spaces in the house to curl up and read. Outdoor shower was great for apres beach. The house itself was a little dusty and could use a deep clean… but other than that it was great.
We loved out experience at the High Kettle House. The house is ideally located in Truro - close to beaches and the town center, yet in a forest on a quiet street. The kitchen is fully equipped. The hot tub is a rare bonus too. We will certainly come again and again
Intriguing passive solar house located conveniently off Rt 6 in Truro, we felt comfortable, relaxed, and easily accessible to Ptown and Orleans. The description is accurate, and the fees are within reason. We had privacy and a comfortable bed, which is not always true in a short term rental. Our older dog didn't care for the stairs, but we were able to get him from first floor level (hot tub!) to the 2nd floor main level using outside doors. The fireplace was great. We didn't want to leave!
The house is amazing. The listing photos really don't do it justice. The hot tub and the outside shower were great. Such a relaxing feel. Totally reminded me of the house my great aunt and uncle built. It was great that we could bring our dog with us, especially since she it elderly. I was worried at first tht she would fll down the stairs or off the ledge since she is blind. But it worked out there is a small lower section that she enjoyed layin on her bed. My 7 and 11 boys loved it. Probably not the best house for a toddler with all the levels and open stairs. Had a great visit!
Enjoyed staying in this beautiful house with hot tub. Close to my favorite beach! There was lots of information about things to do and eat in the area but no details about the construction and solar functioning of the house. Thank you for sharing your special house with us!
We’ve been coming to this house for several years and once again enjoyed our stay! The outer cape is absolutely beautiful and we just love our week here every year
We loved our house! It's a big, bright space with a very well-equipped kitchen and great outside spaces among the trees. Also, it's a perfect location - in a very quiet neighborhood, close to bayside and oceanside beaches and a short drive to P-Town and Wellfleet. We're going back next year!
The house is great, with a really interesting warm cosy feel. Fully stocked kitchen with every utensil ever made by man! Comfy beds and couch! Only thing that could have been better was the dust under the floor that needed to be cleaned as my husband has allergies and they acted up a bit. A bit of an insect haven as well but hey its the cape, with humidity comes insects! We loved it!
Stayed with my twin teenagers and they each invited a friend. Ended up leaving dog back home but always appreciate when dogs are welcome. Really great set up, lots of space, great location. Exceeded expectations.
From the moment we arrived it was comfortable. Place has everything we needed and a great unique layout. Much bigger than expected. Charming and quiet. Middle of wellfleet and ptown, extremely private. Left feeling very relaxed. Thank you for sharing your place with us, we hope to return soon!
Once again we had a wonderful stay at the High Kettle House. We just absolutely love it here- sitting on the deck reading, taking walks in the beautiful old nearby cemetery- and of course the delicious restaurants in Ptown and Black Fish right around the corner from the house. We highly recommend this magical place!
negatives are that it needed a more thorough cleaning and television was very small with very limited channels. Aside from that the house was great for adults. Very well stocked, very comfortable, host was very accommodating.Close to hiking trails beaches and other lower Cape destinations.
We stayed the long weekend and the house was great, very interesting architecture.
The house has a lot of character and was in a nice quiet part of outer cape, just as we wanted. We usually stay in Wellfleet but Truro was great. Would definitely come back.
Great for a large group. Wonderful location. Kitchen is well stocked for all kinds of meal prep. Very open layout so house is a bit noisy. Didn’t really detract though from our stay. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this rental. Owner was very helpful.
Thank you !!!
This is our second year staying at this house and we just love it- proximity to the beach, Ptown restaurants and shopping and that hot tub!! Our favorite week of each year! Thank you!!

About the host
Hosted by Chas Bicking
What makes this property unique
This house was built by Blanche and Charles Bicking who had wide international experiences through their involvement with AFS International Scholarships, The UN Industrial Development Organization, and the Japanese Union of Scientists and Engineers. Their love of the outdoors led to the design of this Japanese inspired all wood house with minimized barriers to the outside, described by some tenants as 'like a big tent in the woods with modern amenities', and 'modern rustic'. Large south facing roof windows allow solar heat to be stored by a floating concrete slab on the first floor, moderating temperature swings, especially in the Spring and Fall. Large deck door screens on the lower level and cupola windows allow natural convective air flow in the summer.
