"The world is a book, those who do not travel know only one page" (S. Augustine). Traveling is our passion. And every time we go home we are enriched with new suggestions, new ways of looking at our territory ... and beauty increases every time more! Bringing the houses of our historic centers to life, offering the best of what we have received while traveling. OltreLeMura is the result of a renovation of the family home, located just beyond the walls, in fact, of the medieval heart of the town. The perfect place to appreciate the charm of the roots of the Morainic Hills and a crossroads between Lake Garda, Mantua, Verona and Brescia. We have created 3 double rooms and one single, and each is inspired by tree species that characterize the area: La Quercia, La Vigna, Il Bagolaro and La Robinia. We look forward to welcoming you and welcoming you ... a stone's throw from our home!
THE RECEPTION. In the old barn we have made a study where we receive you and give you all the information you need. The area is very suitable for organizing tours on foot, by bicycle, on horseback, and as in all of Italy, you can eat and drink divinely!
THE KITCHEN. In the main building there is the kitchen, where if you wish, we serve you breakfasts which are invented on the basis of seasonal ingredients from local producers: cakes, biscuits, juices and yoghurt.
THE LIVING ROOM. The perfect space to relax and plan your days. You will find a rich library of texts that will help you learn more about the area, its history, its geography, its flora and fauna. But it will also be a place where you can indulge yourself in front of the large fireplace having fun with board games, sipping herbal tea or something stronger!
THE COUNTRY of Volta Mantovana. Overlooking the Mincio valley, the castle already existed in the 10th century when it became part of the Canossa defensive system. Its definitive arrangement takes place in the 14th and 15th centuries. with the walls still visible and well preserved and the relative moat (hence our address via Fosse!). In the citadel there was the church, the small village as well as an internal fortress that defends the Mastio (currently privately owned), as well as a south tower now recovered.
THE SURROUNDINGS. Crossroads of the network of medieval municipalities of the Morainic Hills of Garda, 2 of the most beautiful villages in Italy are located a few kilometers away: Borghetto sul Mincio and Castellaro Lagusello. But equally interesting as they are rich in history and wineries are the towns of Monzambano, Ponti Sul Mincio, Solferino and Cavriana. Between 15 and 40 km the wonderful cities of Verona, Brescia and Mantua and the splendid Lake Garda with its particularly mild climate can be visited.
