Ocean Cottage 50 Marina Tortuga Cottage Welcome home! This 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath cottage is the perfect home away from home. This cottage-style townhome is located in Jekyll Island's newest cottage community, The Cottages at Jekyll Island, and is dressed with ocean views. This home has a master bedroom on the main floor, along with two guest bedrooms and a bunkroom on the second floor. The first floor is home to an open kitchen, which flows into the beautiful dining and main living area.
The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and a spacious bar top. This cottage provides easy access to a garage off of the kitchen. Off of the main living area is a screened-in porch, perfect for every season. The second-floor houses two guest bedrooms and bathrooms. Each bedroom opens to an oceanfront balcony overlooking the Atlantic. The second floor also has a small sitting area on the landing. In addition, guests have access to The Cottages at Jekyll Island's million-dollar amenities, which include Clubhouse, zero-entry pool and fitness, beach deck, beach access, and community firepit. Monthly rates are available upon request. This cottage is the "Osprey" floorplan and accommodates 6. Linens included. Coffee maker: Keurig and standard coffee pot2 Adult Bicycle. Single Car Garage, 3 Parking spaces including garage -- No trailers of any kind allowed. NO SMOKING NO PETSIf our no pet or no smoking policy is broken, a $1000 fine will be charged AND you will be asked to vacate the property without a refund. THIS IS NOT HOWEVER A "PET-FREE" COTTAGE AS THE OWNER HAS PETS. THE COTTAGES BEACH ACCEES:OCEAN ACCESS FROM BEACH NOT AVAILABLE AT HIGH TIDE. DUE TO STORMS THAT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BEACH CROSSOVER TO THE OCEAN, WE DO NOT GUARANTEE BEACH ACCESSThe Cottages beach is approximately 2000 linear feet and has a dune area and seawall that runs the length of the Cottages oceanfront property. There are 3 dune crossovers to the sand area landside of the seawall that are always accessible, and that area can be used for recreational purposes. The access to the beach over the seawall is centrally located at the pool & clubhouse. At high tide, the water is at the seawall. The tides change every 6 hours from low to high tide. A tide chart will help you plan your beach time. The nearest beach park with ocean access all day is Oceanview Beach Park, appx 2 miles south just past the Holiday Inn. You may view all Jekyll Beaches by visiting the Jekyll Island website under the Beaches tab. Jekyll Island Cottages

The house was beautiful and accommodated our family perfectly. I would have liked the VRBO site to tell me that what they were charging was not all of the cost. I was also charged a fee by the Real Estate Manager for their costs. This was not disclosed until the last payment was due. Also, beware that the beach is not useable for many hours per day. When it is time for high tide there is absolutely not beach/sand. Only the water hitting the rock wall.

Great location, Not so good property

We love visiting the Jekyll Island and surrounding areas and make at least one trip a year. Our experience in the past has been pretty good with the rental properties but had quite a few issues this time around with this property. Starting with the water leak from upstairs bathroom onto the ceiling downstairs right above the breakfast area and AC not working in the later part of our stay. Called the management, they responded quickly and sent a plumber withing a few hours. They worked on it but the issue persisted and got more water leak next day as well. We couldn't use that bathroom and we had only 2 bathrooms left for 8 people. For the air conditioner, they didn't fix that at all and we had to live with it for the last 2 days of our stay. Have stayed in many properties over the years and this is my very first poor review. The person I spoke to at the property management office was courteous but bottom line is we had a torrid time during our stay.

This is a great cottage on Jekyll. Property management responded right away when needed. When the tide goes in, the beach is great.

Ocean sounds.

The cottage was in a wonderful location with amenities. The property is well appointed however could use some touch up painting in high traffic areas. Our favorite part was waking up and falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean as it hit the rocks during high tide.
