About this property

nineteenth-century patronal villa

Villa Eugenia in Cairo Montenotte, in the province of Savona, is a beautifully restored mid-19th-century property. The villa, which once belonged to the local painter Domingo Motta, was built on a charming, sunny hill called Santa Maria. All that remains of the artist’s work is the ceiling of one room, “Camera Motta,” on the upper floor, which is entirely frescoed across its vaulted ceiling with a motif depicting the four seasons. Villa Eugenia welcomes its guests in a typical landscape of the Ligurian hinterland, in a location equidistant from the sea and the mountains.
On the upper floor are the five bedrooms, all equipped with private bathrooms and satellite TV. The uniquely decorated rooms are inspired by famous painters from Cairo, specifically Abba, Zaffore, Gallo, Motta, and Peluzzi.
Inside the villa, there is also a large kitchen, three living rooms (one of which has a fireplace), a swimming pool, and a barbecue area with a wood-fired oven for making pizza.
Within a 40-kilometer radius, you can reach both the most beautiful resorts along the Ligurian Riviera and the ski resorts.
At the facilities near the sea, you can rent canoes, go sailing, or scuba dive in the stunning protected seabed area around Bergeggi Island. From the property, you can explore various hiking and mountain biking trails in a pristine natural setting, or you can choose to relax by the pool or try your luck at the casinos in Sanremo or Monte Carlo.
