About this property
Elsa Cottage - charming cottage - private garden, shared pool, fabulous grounds
In a quiet hamlet in the heart of Brittany, Elsa is a pretty, traditional stone-built cottage and is one of three charming cottages set on 2.5 acres of land. (3 star meuble de tourisme). Set within fabulous landscaped grounds including a shared heated outdoor swimming pool, boule court and games room, Elsa also has its own private garden.
Elsa has been lovingly restored and features exposed stonework, a double height lounge, well equipped kitchen, shower room and toilet, and a beautiful mezzanine bedroom with additional ensuite. A perfect place to recharge your batteries.
For small families, a cot or single bed can also be put in the bedroom; a high chair is also available.
Outside, as well as Elsa's private garden area with outside table and chairs to enjoy alfresco meals (barbeques available) and generally relaxing, you can also enjoy the fabulous landscaped gardens, shared heated pool, games room, badminton area and boule court.
The pool is open from April to September, heated from May, weather permitting.
All bed linen and towels (not pool/beach towels) are included, as is all fuel and power. Wifi is available in the cottage.
Elsa is set in the heart of rural Brittany – a perfect place to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the French countryside, but only 5 minutes from medieval Guémené, with supermarket, shops, bars and restaurants. Guemene is a typical breton town, famous as the capital of the Andouille Sausage (an acquired taste!). with the remains of the town walls and historic gate to the town open to visit. Pontivy is also close by, with its mix of mediaeval and Napoleonic architecture, it is a bustling town, set on the beautiful Blavet where you can walk, canoe, or kayak, or enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants. The surrounding countryside is perfect for walking, cycling and exploring. We are within easy reach of numerous lakes (many offer swimming and other water sports) including lac du Guerledan in the centre of Brittany.
The lovely South Brittany coast is an easy day trip and well worth exploring, with beautiful towns like Pont Aven or Quimper, prehistoric sites including the world famous Carnac standing stones, and of course stunning beaches, coves and islands with something to offer lovers of all types of beaches!
Elsa is one of three cottages (Adele and Alice) sharing the pool, games room and communal grounds, which can be rented separately or with friends and families wishing to spend their holidays together, but with each enjoying their own separate house and private garden.
