The cottage is at the end of a terrace of 12 cottages & apartments forming part of an L- shaped development built by a Swiss company in 1982. It nestles in a pine forest in the centre of the 18 hole course of Lacanau Golf Club and is opposite the Best Western Hotel. Cycle tracks abound & weave through the forest.

Downstairs: Bedroom with twin beds: shower room with shower, washbasin and toilet; open plan kitchen newly refurbished & well-equipped; lounge/ dining room with French windows opening on to the patio with garden furniture.
Facilities
Downstairs, Bedroom with two single beds. Kitchen area, shower room with shower washbasin and loo and lounge and dining area .
The kitchen is very well equipped with oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and automatic washing machine. There is lots of cooking equipment for those keen to enjoy home cooking. The lounge/dining area has a double sofa bed, 2 armchairs, dining table & chairs, a telephone, wifi and cable TV.
Patip doors lead to a patio with garden furniture.
Upstairs: Main bedroom with double bed and room for a cot. Mexxanine with 3 single beds, Bathroom with bath, shower attachment and loo.
Bed linen and towels are available for a supplementary charge

Lacanau-Ocean, with four wonderful sandy beaches and surf, is 30 miles NW of Bordeaux. It is on the international surf circuit and is an ideal family holiday destination. Close to the beach, lake & wine region of the Medoc with its famous chateaux, this area provides the ideal centre for those wanting a sporty holiday, for those keen to visit the wine region, or for those who just want to unwind and relax in this healthy environment.

Séjour au vert et au calme dans environnement préservé

Excellente situation de ce cottage jouxtant le très beau golf international de Lacanau. Un environnement calme à l'écart des voies de circulation qui rend les sorties particulièrement sûres pour les jeunes enfants. De multiples possibilités de balades à pied, à vélo ou baignades à l'océan tout proche. Pour les moments pluvieux, comme ce weekend de l'ascension, nous avons particulièrement apprécié le confort d'un chalet très bien équipé en matériel de cuisine, jeux et livres.

Un séjour très agreable

Le cottage de Janet peut accueillir confortablement 6 à 7 personnes, il est bien agencé et dispose de nombreux atouts comme un barbecue de table, un jeu de pétanque, ... Et une très bonne literie ! L'environnement du golf est calme et agréable. Un séjour à renouveller !

Alles was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub braucht

Wir haben zu sechst (Familie mit 4 Kindern zwischen 4 und 17 Jahren) einen erholsamen Urlaub in Cottage 1 verbracht. Das Haus ist gut eingerichtet, es gibt 2 Etagen und auf jeder Etage ein Bad oder Dusche und WC. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist super, ruhig und trotzdem nur wenige Minuten zum Meer und zum See. Man kann alles mit dem Fahrrad erreichen, sogar mit kleineren Kindern. Alle Strände ca. 3- 4 km. Zum Zentrum 2 km. Tennisplatz 1 km, sehr unkompliziert. Oder einfach chillen auf der Terrasse. Deutsches TV-Programm! Für jede Altersstufe was dabei☺

Chalet paisible

Très agréable séjour, les chalets sont idéalement situés entre Lacanau et Lacanau Océan, en retrait de l'agitation touristique de la station, au milieu d'un golf, très tranquilles et ombragés par les pins maritimes. L'habitation est restée fraîche malgré la canicule. L'océan (plage sud) et le lac de Lacanau sont facilement accessibles en vélo, nous avons effectués tous nos déplacements à bicyclette, le réseau de pistes cyclables est agréable et souvent ombragé. Le chalet est très bien équipé et agréable, nous y retournerons volontiers.

Très bon séjour

Lieu très calme, abrité de la chaleur grâce à la végétation et très proche de la plage. Cottage très fonctionnel pour passer des vacances. Accueil très chaleureux et hôtes très serviables. Idéal pour passer des vacances au bord de l'océan, laisser sa voiture au parking et ne se déplacer qu'en vélo.

Au coeur du golf, petit appartement equipé et simplicime dans un cadre magnifique et sportif (golf), a 15min en voiture de lacanau ocean, l'endroit est ideal pour s'éloigner de la fête mais accessible pour rejoindre l'ce centre ville! Conseil: prendre des velos!

Nice house on excellent location

We had a very nice stay in Lacanau Ocean. Went to the beach (7 minute drive), visited vineyards and played golf on the nice course at the entrance of the bungalow park (greenfee E 26,-). Mentioning the 3 subjects described gives the USP's of the house; location is excellent. Well situated if you like golf, sea, sailing (2 lakes were you can rent sailing boats nearby) and day trips (wine). We would definitely recommend the house.

Well Equipped Cottage in good location

The cottage was in an excellent location with regards to Lacanau's cycle paths and seaside. It was also lovely and cool and breezy on occasions where everywhere else was too hot. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could need. It was not quite as clean as it could be, but acceptable.

Family Holiday in Lacanau

Five of us stayed very comfortably at the cottage during August 2009. It is exceptionally well equiped accommodation. Many meals were taken outside on the patio, including various BBQs; sardines from the local supermarket fish counters being a particular favourite. The cottage is very well maintained, and when we had a very small problem with a flush on a toilet, it was fixed very quickly. Getting from the cottage into town is very easy and quick on bikes and the many cycle paths made it safe for everyone in the family. They even have roundabouts for bikes! We would recommend lights for all bikes when returning from the town in the evenings, as some of the routes are not well lit. We could have left the car parked for most journeys if it wasn't for the surf and body boards we carried to the fantastic surfing beaches close by. We all had a great stay and are heading back in 2010. We would certainly recommend the cottage and location to anyone. The Gubbins family.

We bought Cottage 1 when the development was first built in 1982 This was the show house and we liked the area so much that we bought Cottage 2 in 1999. Over the years we have seen many changes, but the cottages have provided wonderful holiday homes for us and our family ever since. We live in the UK in West Sussex near Brighton and run a teaching business, including teaching English as a foreign language! Lacanau is home from home and we enjoy visiting it out of season now that our children are grown up.

Why they chose this property

My husband and I chose this property because we loved living near the sea and the lake and wanted to have a holiday base which was very French. We wanted to find an area which was by the sea and provided a healthy environment with sporting facilities to appeal to family members of all ages. The combination of the pine forest and the ocean, together with the micro climate meant that for us Lacanau was the ideal location for our healthy and relaxing holidays. Additionally this cottage is in the centre of a golf course, within walking distance of the sea and close to the cycle tracks which meander through the forest. Being only an hour away from Bordeaux, means that you are never far away from a beautiful city with wonderful facilities and much to offer. In season Lacanau is busy and vibrant, but out of season it provides a wonderfully calm retreat, offering a real sense of wellbeing in natural surroundings.
