We actually don't rent this houseboat during all the year and we cannot accept everyone due do the restricions, this amazing place would be non-available soon.
We host people since many years and only a few people had the chance to stay on Aquarelle.
The boat is in the tradition of the Seine River cargo beautifully designed
It is a barge that doesn't leave the ground floor. The engine is in fonction but we dont suggest that you turn it on and have a trip by your own, its a big barge and driving in the Seine require very good skills.
The "Peniche" boat has all the commodities and is like a big appartement in the center of Paris.
You cannot beat the view with the Alexander 3 bridge in front of the first terrace, the Invalides bridge and Eiffel tower on the other side terrace.
You will be around the most beautiful buildings like the Grand and Petit Palais and the most prestigious embassies and the French president Palace of Elysée.
All the most touristic places of paris that you can see on the postal cards or online about the beauty of Paris are walking distance for the boat.
Exemples : You can walk to the Champs Elysée, Arc de triomphe, Grand Palais, Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Invalides Museum,Train stations, Metro station.
There is also very nice cafés and Clubs in front of the boat for the nighttime.
The boat itself is very convenient and large with three beautiful bedrooms with large confortable beds ( photos of the rooms are not yet available due to delays with photographer).
There is a very good security system in the boat with an alarm and calling station.
The boat has an equipped kitchen, with a microwave oven/convection, fridge, stove, dishwasher, drinkable hot/cold water. Kitchen tools and wine glasses, table set, and basic ingredients like tea coffee, spices, oils, salt and pepper, nice liquors...
There is also the bedsheets and towels provided.
There is a washing machine / dryer in the boat.
We also installed two TVs, one is in the living room and one in the first room with also internet wifi everywhere on the boat.
The bathroom have a nice sink and a bath. The toilets are separated.
The boat Is not suitable for very old people and disabled handicapped person. We also not accept children from 2 to 12 years old, It's too dangerous as if they dont know how to swim and play around they could fall in the river.
There are stairs near the boat that are easily attainable by swim but we declain any responsibility and warn you that it is completely forbidden and dangerous to be in the water.
During the Day, with the passage of the tourists boats and the Police, there could be some waves that will create some mouvements until the traffic completely stop in the night.
When you book the boat, you also book Quentin which is the boat keeper available at any time.
He knows Paris like no one else does and would help you to make you trip much easier and enjoyable.
Don't hesitate to ask him by message any questions he would answer fast day and night with pleasure.
You can find his number on the host details.

The rain kept us from fully enjoying the boat (ie no sitting outside with wine and cheese) but that was no fault of the boat itself which was clean and comfortable. Very well located and safe.
Great experience with amazing view. Centrally located and great host. Boat is older but that adds charm to the property. Some spaces are tight but it’s understandable your on a boat. Best part is sitting outside with wine watching the city pass you by! Very unique experience while in Paris.
Best view as the night falls. From midnight to 9 am there is no more river traffic - sleeping is very peaceful. Great central location - easy walk over bridge for any grocery or markets. Same side for the must see sights. Our host was responsive and easy check in and out.
Perfect location on the Seine , great for morning run/walk. Drinks on the deck and watching the Eiffel Tower is amazing. Well accommodated and the Air Condition on the boat is outstanding. Plenty of room for a large group and large bedrooms
We had a wonderful stay. The location couldn't be better and the property manager was very responsive and helpful. Remember that it is a boat and not a five-star hotel but it provides you a lot of room and two unique decks to hang out, read a book, and watch the world go by. It was a perfect base to explore Paris. I hope we have a chance to return someday!
The boat is located in the middle of everything. Air conditioning worked perfectly during the June heat! We had been traveling for 2 weeks and everyone slept the best on the boat. It is older but has everything you need and beds are comfortable. There was a lot of pedestrian and boat traffic around the boat, but you couldn't hear anything once you were inside. The view off the front of the boat is incredible. We spent a few nights there with wine and a charcuterie board. I will say that the ladders and stairs between floors could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Thank you for a memorable visit!
We thoroughly enjoyed the unique perspective of seeing and exploring Paris from a Seine- level view. The life on the water, the nightly light show of Paris and the Eiffel Tower were highlights. It was easy to get everywhere we wished to be. The check in and check out process was so simple. The property manager was superb in communications that were clear and thorough.
Romantic definitely, but great for families as well.
Amazing views of the Eiffel Tower on one end of the boat and the Alexander III Bridge on the other end. Located central to all of our chosen attractions and restaurants. Cozy and quiet during the day and enjoyed the many boats passing by at night. Already booked 4 more days to stay again. Unique and enjoyable. Glad we tried an alternative choice for lodging.
If you book this boat, you will not be disappointed. What are you waiting for?
A unique and wonderful experience. The best location. Not super luxurious, simple, clean and worth the trade off, just need to be open minded and not prone to seasickness and you will have a terrific view every day! Slept really well in the boat went to bed each night and woke up each morning to a view of the Eiffel Tower one direction and the Alexander the third bridge the other. Walk to the Louvre and wonderful shops and cafes. Beautiful neighborhood. Lounge on the deck in the evening with a glass of wine before dinner.
You will never beat being on the River with the Alexander III on one end and the Eiffel Tower on the other. Steps from everything in the heart of Paris--what a special adventure. It's a 100 year old boat, and all that entails, meaning ladders + rocking etc--but it was a one of a kind experience & there is nothing like setting on the back of the boat watching the sun set over the Eiffel Tower. Everyone is walking by taking photo shots of "your" place every day. Awesome experience.
Staying on this houseboat made our trip to Paris extraordinary— we loved it! The views of the bridges and Eiffel Tower from the decks were beautiful, every room charming. We were a close walk to the subway and in a wonderful part of Paris. Quentin, our host, was gracious and helpful. It was lovely to feel and see the river around us. I was there with my adult children, and it was a perfect setting for the family to be together. We will come back again to this sweet little boat if we return to Paris and it is available. Thank you, Quentin, for your advice during our stay.
This barge boat is more centrally located than any other lodging in Paris, with views of Les Invalides, and the Eiffel Tower, and just a short walk to Museé d’Orsay and several other fascinating sites. The deck furniture really added to the special value of our stay. Great AC, comfortable bedrooms, and everything else we needed for our stay. The only caution I would mention is for people with mobility issues. Like most boats, the steps are steep between levels. The toilet room is on the upper level while the bedrooms are down below. We highly recommend this place and appreciated the care the owner gave toward making our stay pleasant.
Fantastic location -charming home - lots of character -terrific host
We had an absolutely lovely time. Host was amazing and helpful. The location can’t be beat and is so charming - a rare opportunity to experience life in a houseboat on the Seine. The barge was well-equipped and warm (we were there in February). Beds very comfortable. It was quiet and the boat rocked a little but not at night. We brought pasties back for breakfast and made coffee and enjoyed leisurely mornings. The location was close to museums and the Eiffel Tower. Stunning views!!! One of our party takes a morning jog and enjoyed running along the river. The boat is rustic and lived in and that contributed to the charm. Stairs are narrow and need to use caution. Overall fantastic experience.
This is not your typical VRBO. The location and the nature of it being a boat is what absolutely sells this. It’s essential that you not have mobility problems because the ladders are steep, the hallways narrow and the boat rocks from time to time. However there is nothing else like this in Paris. You’ve got amazing views and just waking up to coffee on the deck over the Seine is unbelievable. The beds are very comfortable and the rocking stops at night so no worries there. However it is a lived in house … and the place is clean and well-appointed but still, it’s a boat. I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend for something completely different - would definitely stay again.
We loved the boat, the location, and the views. My 2 female friends and I walked back earlier than the others one night After midnight one evening and were totally safe. It's a convenient location..a short walk to the Eiffel Tower and Champ-Elysses to the Arc D'triumphe. The cleanliness of the boat left a lot to be desired, however. We were only there 2 nights mostly to sleep, so we stuck it out. There is a strong mold smell that stayed in our clothes and we are now washing all of our clothes in Brussels on the 2nd part of our trip. Additionally, there was a layer of dust on most surfaces and the tables and benches had to be cleaned with disinfecting wipes that one of my friends happened to have. We would love to stay here again if the place goes through a good cleaning. We know this wasn't going to be a fancy place and it is a bit rustic: that would have been fine if it was cleaner, I'm sorry to say. I did reach out to the house prior to writing this review cause I don't like to write negative reviews without communicating first. I was told that the smell is a typical 'boat smell' and the dust is because Paris is dusty and after 2 days, the dust settles. I'll leave it at that.
This property symbolizes what we all think Parisian life is about. This is not a five star hotel, but the view, and the central location is worth ten stars. If you need 5000 count Egyptian cotton linens and a marble bathroom the size of a small apartment then this is not the space for you. However, if you want to live like a normal mortal with a god-like view and gain the experience of a lifetime then make your reservation now. The boat is well appointed with functional furniture and outstanding AC units in every bedroom and living area. The shower is standard European style with half enclosure and handheld shower handle and the toilet is a self contained water closet which worked perfect for a family of four allowing plenty of space to get ready each morning. You must be able to climb ship “ladders” (steep stairs) but otherwise there are few limits to the space. It is a bit damp and maybe a little musty, but what do you expect when living on one of the world’s greatest waterways? As a father, when I booked, I was worried about security while sleeping, but not once I got to the boat. There is a super security system that allowed me to sleep without fear and was also simple enough for the non-tech savvy to figure out and use. Our host was very punctual with replies and provided clear checkin/checkout instructions as well as offered any support we might need during our stay. Would recommend this property for adventurous souls who want a once in a lifetime experienc.

Not a fan of the lodging
Pro's - Responsive and accommodating host, great location, individualized heating and cooling in bedrooms, comfortable beds, security system, parking for 25 euro/day.Con's- very small marine bathroom upstairs requiring steep stairs in the middle of the night, separate shower on bedroom level with no toilet. Shower area gets very wet and towels are always damp (1 towel pp per 3 night stay), lower level hallway very narrow due to two bookcases that would slow evacuation in case of emergency, no fire extinguishers on lower level where dryer is at. Couldn't get dryer to work. Lost power and water due to shore connection issue. Quentin came right away and fixed it, but it was late at night and had to wait 15-20 minutes. Boat traffic on river causes boat to bang against other boat moored with it and shore from about 8 am-11pm, lounge furniture cushions on deck had to be secured at night. To leave parking area, it required contacting host, but he was very good about doing it remotely at all hours. Mold and mold on front bedroom walls. Ants. Not super clean. Couldn't find silverware. Musty smelling.

Hello,
I usually don’t respond to comments but this time I think it’s not right and this need some explanation.
I don’t think it’s fair to leave such a comment.
If you had problems during your stay you should first let me know as we were in contact all the time.
First, there is no problem with water in the shower, if it was wet you should open the window to get fresh air maybe ?
For the stairs, well it’s a boat and we are not a ferry. You probably should have thought about it before your reservation. How could I know you have an handicap if you don’t tell me in advance ?
We left you enough towels for every person on board but there were a closet full of them if you needed more, you just needed to ask.
For the fire extinguishers we had an inspection last year and it’s not needed there downstairs. There is 5 in total the boat. All in good condition. There is one 1m50 from the dryer place in the toilet, we don’t need one in every room
The dryer is also very easy to use, I could also explained or send you the manual.
There is no mold on the wall in the room that not true.
I feel bad that you told me that you had a very good time when I asked you and not tell le that you had some issues.
I hope next time would be better for you.
And I feel sorry you didn’t get the spirit of this unique place.
My regards
Quentin
Take out dinner under the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower
This is the best location in Paris.
If you’re able bodied, don’t get motion sickness, and you prioritize walkability to major attractions, enjoy beautiful scenery (river views, Eiffel Tower & bridges) and like having a whole home and outdoor space to relax in and don’t mind a little eclectic clutter -this might be the perfect place for you.
This isn’t the typical perfectly turned out and decorated VRBO that some of us US residents expect but rather a lived in rental with all the comforts of home. Find a book, play chess, curl up on the couch on the deck with your take out and a bottle of wine and enjoy watching life go by on the river and the sun go down behind the Eiffel Tower. The location can’t be beat. We walked to the Louvre (18 min) in the morning, to the metro, to the Champs Elysee, and to amazing take out restaurants.
There wasn’t WiFi which wasn’t an issue for us but there was a great security system. We were two some traveling alone and we felt safe.
The beds were comfortable, Quentin was an awesome host and extremely responsive, check out was quick and easy and he made finding and checking in easy, and we would check in again in a heart beat and recommend this to most people. The only negative is that it needs a deep cleaning but honestly it did feel pretty authentic.
If you have mobile issues or don’t like enclosed spaces or have trouble with small stairs, this is NOT the rental for you. On the other hand if you’re a romantic or wan an adventure or something other than a sterile hotel room this might be right up your alley!
We were celebrating a 60th Birthday. Staying on the boat made this one of the most memorable trips of a lifetime. Someone made coffee while someone else went to Angelina’s and got pastries and then we all gathered around the wooden table of the cozy leather banquet and planned our day each morning. Evenings brought us to the deck drinking champagne with charcuterie while watching the Eiffel Tower twinkle. We walked to everything! One day was sunny and beautiful and one of our group planned their day around hanging out on the boat, lounging in the sun on the deck, reading, etc.
I can’t wait to stay here again❤️

Wonderful setting and location
We had a wonderful week on the boat. Great location and fun to watch the world go by on the Seine. The boat is very rustic and I would not recommend it to anyone who has mobility issues. You are on a boat and there are ladders between each level. For those looking for something different and with an adventurous spirit.
Unique fun and convenient way to see Paris. Expect some waves

Great location for people watching
The barge is very rustic and has very tough ladder type stairs to bedrooms and kitchen and needs grab bars or railings to make it easier. Lots of spiders … great place to explore Paris and experience Bastille Day we had no Wi-Fi and that was bad
“A Houseboat?!” said the husband. Is there AC? (Yes - very cool in each room - works great!), Is there a shower? (Yes, it IS handheld but not a problem), Are the beds comfortable? (Yes, very!), Is there security? (Yes, a very good system), and there’s a washer/dryer/dishwasher, too. Now the boat wasn’t built in 2022 or anything, so it is a bit rustic and if you are a clean freak, this may not be for you, it is not pristine, as you will share the lounge areas on the deck with spiders who make their webs there - know that they are there to help catch all the bugs and were not in our way at all - we coexisted quite peacefully - don’t tear down their homes!! They are an asset for bug-catching! Mostly, I told my friends I wouldn’t trade this houseboat for all the hotel rooms in Paris. You cannot and will not have near the same experience as you will staying here. Convenient to walk to absolutely everything and Quentin is a marvelous host! It is a constant parade of fun on the Seine passing your boat but the beauty is the bedrooms are cool and quiet below deck. I will never stay anywhere else in Paris in the future if this place is available. I miss it already!
