Home was very comfortable and easy to locate and access. Sits on a farm with animals and a nice place to wander about when not hiking in the NP. We would stay again if returning to hike in the park.
Loved our stay here. So peaceful and beautiful. The house was very comfortable and well stocked. Loved how close it was to the Pinnacles. Loved all the farm animals and wild bunnies. The oluve oil is delicious . Shelly was so kind and helpful as well.
We had such a wonderful stay at this charming farm. The location was incredibly convenient, just a short drive to the national park, which made our visits so easy. The Tumbleweed Hotel itself was adorable and thoughtfully maintained. What truly made the experience special were the grounds, filled with life and character, horses, alpacas, friendly dogs, chickens, a donkey, peacocks, quails, and even the distant call of coyotes. It felt magical. Our hosts, Shelley and Barbara, went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, even purchasing mattress pads just for us. Their hospitality made us feel so cared for.I can’t recommend this place enough, and it will definitely be my go-to spot whenever I return.
Would give them more stars if I could! Shelley was so kind and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed and more. The kids (and adults) loved exploring the property, seeing the animals and playing in the game room. And Pinnacles is just 10 minutes away. We will definitely be back! Loved it!
The house was comfortable, but what really made the experience special were the other activities available. There were lots of animals for the kids to see, a game room with air hockey and foosball, and a basketball court. We'll look forward to coming back when the pool and spa are open to guests again.
great location tp Pinnacles NP. We went to paint wild flowers, the rolling hills, vineyards, and the rural area. not disappointed. Shelley very helpful and friendly.
We had the best time during our stay on the ranch. Only 15 minutes from Pinnacles. We loved all of the critters on the ranch (dogs, horses, peacocks etc.) Shelley was great and even shipped us a bag that we had forgotten.
Pinnacles National Park has been on our bucket list and the ranch was the perfect place to stay. Shelly was an amazing host and took care of our every need. We met the animals (including alpaca, roosters, horses, donkey, rabbits, bull and the resident dogs) and enjoyed our coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon in the back yard listening to all of the birds. Way better than a hotel room!
We all loved our stay! Everything was clean, there was a ton of sweet animals, really fun amenities. We could have spent all weekend at this ranch. We chose this property due to the proximity to Pinnacles. It was very close to the larger side of the park. We also spent part of the day around the west side of the park. Very short drives and great views.
We had a wonderful stay in this very comfortable ranch house! This was my 2nd stay here. It’s the perfect location to visit Pinnacles National Park east entrance just 15 minutes away. The house is spacious, clean and decorated with cute decor. 3 nice bedrooms all with very firm queen beds (memory foam toppers would improve the comfort). 2 large bathrooms with good quality towels. Kitchen is very well-equipped with plenty of dishes and cookware. Lovely ranch property with great gameroom, pool and lots of farm animals, plus very entertaining and noisy peacocks!
We stayed here to be close to Pinnacles National Park. The property location is about 9 miles away from the park. This is a working ranch with lots of fun things and animals to see. Peacocks, horses, and many others. The home was clean and nicely appointed, and The olive oil was perfect. Communication was excellent, and direct were easy to follow. They have basketball, a hiking area, and ping pong. This was a quiet place to spend the two day. Would go back.
We had a wonderful stay in this very comfortable house on a beautiful ranch less than 15-minute drive to Pinnacles East entrance. It’s truly a peaceful experience staying here surrounded by their olive tree orchard in an oak-studded valley with steep green hills all around. There are 3 very well-appointed bedrooms all with queen beds and 2 full baths with high quality towels. It’s spotlessly clean and the kitchen is well-equipped. The hosts filled the house with nice extras like a sample of the olive oil they produce, flashlights, first aid kit, sewing kit. The lawn outside the house has a great seating area with chairs and umbrella. There are many animals to visit on the grounds including a large number of peacocks, horses, alpacas and 2 friendly dogs. Wild bunnies, quail and other birds are everywhere. There’s a steep hiking trail up to a peak with a lovely deck, chairs and view.
We had an incredible hike at the Pinnacles through caves and way up to the high peaks ridge. Get there before 7:30am to get a parking spot at Bear Gulch. It gets very crowded there!
We were looking for a place to stay when we visited Pinnacles National Park and decided on the ranch, primarily because of its proximity to the Park. Of course, the rave reviews were comforting to read. We definitely made the right choice as I can say that none of the accolades are an exaggeration. The house was very clean, the beds comfortable with firm (but not too firm) mattresses, the towels were plentiful and of very high quality, and the kitchen well-stocked. There were slippers, robes, portable lights (both large lanterns and smaller flashlights for use in the caves in Pinnacles), a sewing kit, multiple first-aid kits, and much more! We really took advantage of the adirondack chairs on the back porch, the large enclosed well-furnished porch on the side of the house, and the multiple places throughout the property to read, enjoy the view or just relax. The listing mentions a large video disc collection - I estimate there are over 1,000 titles. We spent the first few days mainly in the park and relaxed around the ranch on our last day. We easily could have spent several more days just enjoying the scenery and atmosphere on the property. Although the facilities are wonderful, what really makes this listing special is the staff. Shelley goes above and beyond, always looking for ways to make guests more comfortable. The men who work on the farm are also very friendly and informative about the property. We really hope to return one day!
we enjoyed our stay very much! It is a very comfortable, well equipped house. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch and listening to the birds and looking at the lovely scenery . We will definitely stay here again when we visit Pinnacles!!
Could not have picked a more perfect location for a family weekend near Pinnacles NP! The photos simply do not do this place justice. The property is gorgeous, the animals are loveable, and the hosts are fantastic. We could not have asked for a better spot!
We stayed at the Tumbleweed and appreciated all the detailed touches that made our stay extra comfortable. Barbara and Shelley are warm and friendly hosts and we were glad to have had some time to meet and chat with them.
Be sure to carve out some time to take the hike up to the lookout on their property -- it's stunning. Will definitely be back!!
Thanks for the great weekend!
The web site cannot really capture what a gem this is. The 1000 acre ranch is nestled against a mountain range, has peacocks/llamas/alpacas/donkeys/horses, groves of olive trees, a game room. Its only a few miles from Pinnacles NP entrance. (The ranch is big and the road to the house takes awhile-keep going until you get to the gate, and then go farther.). The house is older but has been well renovated and one of the best supplied we have ever been in (the medicine cabinets in both bath rooms looked like drug store shelves). No WiFi in houses, but fast in Game Room. The on-site store sells their organic olive oils and other goodies. Overall this place was a delight!
We all had a great time here. Our kids loved the animals. Barbara and Shelly were great hosts. Close to Pinnacles NP. A great place to visit for rest and fun.
10miles, about 20mins from pinnacles. Great in house amenities
Lovely farm
Easy check in and out with quick responses
A bit far from groceries/food but just grab it on the way in
Very enjoyable ranch. We all had a great time. Shelley the manager is helpful and friendly.

About the host
Hosted by Barbara Rever
We are two busy physicians that purchased this 1000+ acre ranch in 1991 as a tranquil getaway for ourselves and two sons, Dustin and Ian.
Why they chose this property
We enjoy all that country life has to offer; our various domestic animals including horses, cows, llamas, alpacas, donkeys, peafowl, cats, and 2 busy ranch dogs, as well as breathtaking views, wildlife sightings, native plants and the ability to do as much or as little as desired. We have tennis and basketball courts, ping pong, a two story bunkhouse that also houses a pool table, air hockey, a vast collection of DVDs. We offer numerous comfortably charming guest cottages/houses, Over 20 years ago we planted over 1250 Mission organic olive trees which produce our award winning extra virgin olive oil. We have traveled all over the world and love meeting new people from all cultures. Come and experience our beautiful getaway in Paicines, California.
What makes this property unique
Our property offers the tranquil rural ambiance that so many desire, and all the creature comforts as well. Since we are located only 10 minutes from Pinnacles National Park, many guests hike during the day, but want to return to a comfortable cottage, enjoy a warm shower, a fully stocked kitchen, sleep in a comfortable bed, yet still be immersed in the great outdoors and all it has to offer.
