Mallard Cottage was absolutely beautiful.
Mallard Cottage was absolutely beautiful. Really thoughtfully decorated and every possible need considered. Very handy parking right outside and a gorgeous garden at the back. It was very cosy and David was keen to check we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The location is very convenient with the city centre only a short walk away including the cathedral and lots of restaurants and great shops. We would highly recommend this gorgeous cottage.

Our favourite thing about Mallard cottage was the beautiful garden which was in full, magnificent bloom. There is a river at the bottom. There are several places thoughtfully placed to sit. We had glorious weather so we were able to eat all our meals in the garden. We also made use of the summer house which was a lovely spot to have your morning coffee or sit and read a book. The house was lovely, tastefully done, comfortable and well equipped. Beds extremely comfortable. We were grateful that there were fans as they are needed. A fan in the second bedroom might be a good idea as we had to take the one from downstairs up and down. We booked our trip to attend the wonderful Grange Festival for Opera. Would definitely recommend an Opera , ballet or jazz at “The Grange Festival “ . Preferred it to Glynebourne. We found this was a good base to go to The Grange Festival from, especially since we wanted to build a holiday around the Grange Festival. Lots of interesting things to do locally so a week didn’t feel sufficient. Could happily have stayed for another week. Hosts are lovely people. They have the sweetest dog.. They even lent us their picnic blanket and were completely forgiving when we confessed that we lost it! Thank you very much for a lovely stay.
My wife and I and another couple loved staying at Mallard Cottage. The bedrooms and bathrooms were a good size and the laundry with a clothes dryer was really appreciated. The living area enjoyed floor to ceiling glass looking out on a sunny, relaxing garden which sloped down to the fast flowing river. It was a short walk in to the centre of the city. Hosts, David and Deepti, were welcoming and very helpful. I highly recommend this cottage to others.
Outstanding luxurious accommodation within a short walk of Winchester.
My friend and I spent a fabulous 3 days in this truly stunning cottage. David and Deepti really have thought of everything to make for a magical stay. The quality of the furnishings and decor is second to none. So stylish and comfortable. Added to which the access to their beautiful gardens leading down to the river was the icing on the cake. Would highly recommend to anyone.
