About this property

Plum Cottage, Overstrand, Norfolk

Peacefully nestled in the coastal village of Overstrand, this cosy and stylish mid-terrace cottage is a mere few minutes walk from the sandy beach, a great cliff top café, a good village pub, a delicious restaurant, and North Norfolk's stunning heritage coastline.

Ideal for a family, small group of friends or couples, step inside and you'll appreciate the effort the owner has made to make this cottage as charming as possible with modern fixtures and fittings. With two bedrooms, one with a super-king size bed and en-suite with bath and separate shower, the other with 3ft twin beds, family bathroom with walk-in shower, a new open-plan kitchen/dining room and cosy sitting room; this cottage delivers on all levels. During the summer months, the courtyard is a little sun-trap, crying out for a morning coffee and croissant, while the separate garden located a few steps across a right of way can accommodate alfresco dining and is fully-enclosed and secure enough for both children and dogs to play safely while the barbecue sizzles and the wine chills.

Plum Cottage offers the opportunity to spend quality time away together in a comfortable cottage in a great location, a mere stroll from all the amenities the charming village of Overstrand has to offer. If you enjoy walking the coastal path, exploring the many picture-perfect seaside villages and towns to the east and west, or simply packing a picnic full of fabulous local produce and walking to the beach for the day where you can swim in the sea and let the dogs run free, then Plum Cottage is for you.

Overstrand.
A few negatives. Shower head was broken downstairs. Impossible to use. Winter duvets were far too hot. We were disappointed to find no basics such as salt and pepper. Butter, milk, tea bags, coffee, all might be expected. Towelling seemed tired.
Stayed 3 nights in May 2022

Great location
We enjoyed our stay at Plum Cottage. It is conveniently placed close to the beach and the village amenities. The cottage was clean, nicely decorated and the beds comfortable. One bedroom has an en-suite but guests in the other bedroom have to use the shower room downstairs. For anyone with mobility problems there is a step into the kitchen and utility room and the stairs are very steep but have a handrail each side which helps. The downstairs floors are hard so easy to keep clean with our dogs with a tricky stair gate to prevent them from going upstairs. The small rear garden has sun in the morning. We will book to stay at the cottage again.

Beautiful, peaceful place to stay with everything you could wish for in a relaxing holiday.
We stayed at Plum Cottage for a week and it was absolutely amazing, it was a home away from home and had everything you need. We had dinner in the Cottage 3 evenings during our stay and was able to buy lovely seafood and steak from the local butchers and fishmongers, and even had a BBQ one evening. The shower is great and the kitchen is very well equipped. The amazing beach is very close to the cottage (2 min walk) and we had lovely walks along the beach to Cromer. Cromer its self is a lovely town with some really nice shops and restaurant's, we ate at Bann Thai and No.1 both food and service were both really good. The local pub a very short walk from Plum Cottage also served really nice food and their staff were very friendly. We recommend visiting Felbrigg Hall which is only down the road, the house and gardens are amazing. If you are looking for a quite relaxing holiday this is definitely the place to stay. We highly recommend and will be back again!

Fantastic location, nice cottage
The cottage is brilliantly situated and really lovely. Some of the furnishing and white goods were a little tired but didn’t impact our enjoyment. Would absolutely stay again.

Great stay, few improvements needed to be perfect
The house was very clean, well decorated and nicely furnished. Great position and parking was never an issue. A few improvements can be made. The mattress on the big bed was uncomfortable and it would be useful to have a wardrobe in the main bedroom. The under-worktop fridge isn’t big enough for a family, with only 1 freezer shelf for ice creams! Not an issue for us, but I didn’t appreciate the garden was cut in half by a communal path. Overall a very nice stay.
