Nice house, great host
Best of all by far is the host and his wife. Both Jean-Luc and Charlotte have always tried to make the stay as good as possible, thank you again for that!
Communication was perfect in English, as both are fluent, so don't worry about that if your French is not so good.
The house itself is roomy, has a great pool (about 10m*5m, going from flat to a depth of around 1,75m at the end). My 7-year old daughter could stand about 40% of the pool and enjoyed jumping into the deeper parts at the end.
The house has a central A/C in the living room, which came to its limits at the current high temperatures. Especially the master bedroom was quite warm even running the A/C all day, but given the outside temps of 35°C all the time, that was ok.
This house is the family home of Jean-Luc and his family, so it's not a unemotional tourist house but has all the small things that make a house a home. Small gifts from the boys to their parents, paintings etc.
My daughter enjoyed all the toys in her room (Lego and such) and especially the small football-table in the living room ("Tischkicker in German).
All the things you might need in a vacation were there and working, even 2 BBQs with a choice of Gas (my choice) or charcoil. Kitchen was well equipped and in good order.
The location of the house is about 40 minutes (with lots of traffic usually) outside of Bastia near the main road on the east-coast fo Corsika. Very quiet and relaxed in a small neighborhood. About 5 minute drive to the beach (all sand, good also for smaller children and extremely wide and empty, but with a small snack stand). So if beach is what you need for your vacation, this is great.
We like to visit some more places and go snorkeling, there we had to drive around 1h15m to most better spots on the Cap Corse or north coast where you have less sand and more pebble beaches. But to be honest, for snorkeling other mediterranean locations from Mallorca to Croatia have facinated me much better.
But that is always subjective and not a problem of the house ;-)
Groceries shopping is nearby (about 8 minutes by car in either direction you have two large supermarkets) and there are also a few restaurants around. We liked "A Stonda" in San-Nicolao best, nothing fancy but also something for a child to eat. And it's open from the morning to the early evening which is unusual for Corsica. Plage Moriani is also a good beach.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and especially our host's hospitality!
